It was my second time in Grand Haven when I went to Kirby House, and I went in only because it was the closest thing around, but it was surprisingly amazing. I had a water and the crispy chicken sandwich, which was delicious. I would definitely recommend coming here if you need a quick bite, or just want good food! The service was good and the waiters were great!

Came here with my family the day before Father's Day and we were prepared to be patient with staff since it was so busy and a holiday weekend. And we were so pleasantly surprised when they had live music, really great food, kind and fast service, and our food was at our table so fast! Our experience was so good here that we want to make Kirby's our first stop next time we visit Grand Haven. I highly recommend the five cheese pasta, cashew stir fry, or the wet burrito. We have truly found our new favorite restaurant in Grand Haven.

Stopped by for a quick bite after walking and shopping around in the grand haven shops. There is plenty of outdoor seating, as well as a big interior and rooftop as well. We had the Thai chicken lettuce wraps, rosemary fries, and Caribbean pesto hummus crudite. The Thai chicken lettuce wrap was okay, nothing special. The rosemary fries were so crispy and delicious!
The rosemary garlic spice used makes these so addicting. The hummus was interesting but I really liked the flavors. The pesto was not too strong or overpowering. I even dipped some of the fries in it. So good.

Server was great. Inside and outside seating. I had the Walleye BLT without the bacon (my preference). The sandwich was good. My husband had the burrito and said that was also good. Good beer choices. Best part.no shrimp on the menu so I could eat here. I have very few dining out options because of my shrimp allergy. Thank you!

Came here witha local: Not overly impressed. Mahi tacos were very fishy tasting and so very salty! Maybe the cook is a smoker? My fried fish sandwich was overdone and the fries were hella salty. The bartender was alone and overwhelmed given the amount of time it took to get drinks. While our friend's steak and rosemary potatoes were very good, I'm leaving disappointed.

We just went there on a day out walking around Grand Haven. We were greeted and seated immediately by a very nice young lady. The waitress Alexus was right there quickly. My wife got a chicken sandwich with fries. Good. I got a chicken wet burrito. Very good. Good food. Good service. Good atmosphere. We'll be going there again.

This place is very spacious, and I love how the interior looks. I ordered the stuffed acorn squash and thought it was delicious, I was surprised by how flavorful it was and I loved the addition of walnuts. I wish more restaurants offered interesting items like this. My fiance enjoyed his fish tacos as well. My only complaint is that I would have liked the food to be a teensy bit warmer.

Wow, we had a great experience here on Sunday, Feb. 6. We came with a group of family and sat in the back left corner. I wish I'd gotten our server's name, but she was absolutely phenomenal. We had low expectations for the food based on reviews, but we all loved everything we got: white chicken chili, stir fry, nachos, fish tacos, pasta, cheesy bread, lettuce wraps and more. Everything was wonderful, and the portions are huge. The manager stopped over and he was super nice as well. Will definitely be back!

Best fries we have ever had! I got the fish and chips and my boyfriend got the meatsa pizza. The fish and chips was rather small, at least the fish portion was. It was just three long skinny, thin pieces of fish. Tartar sauce was odd as well. The fries saved it for me, absolutely amazing! The pizza was good but wouldn't go running back for it, however the fries, yes!
We went right as they opened at 4 as we were visiting the town and the service was alright. Waited awhile for her to refill drinks even though we were one of three tables in the whole place. Good atmosphere overall, would go back to try again if in town.

Location, and the building is all the Kirby has at this point. Atmosphere is very loud, and the food is bad. Tried the Tuna app, Mahi Tacos (with chicken instead), and the GF noodle dish (i can't remember the name). The Tuna appetizer was alright, the tuna wasn't the best and the broth was more like a sauce. The tacos came out the first time looking delicious, but had cheese (which wasn't listed) so I had to send them back due to an allergy; the second time I received them they were alright, but the chicken was sawdust dry and had no flavor.
The lettuce was the best part of the tacos. My girlfriend ordered the GF noodle dish, and it was inedible, as it tasted only of soy sauce. Had it sent back for Salmon power bowl (i believe it's called), which had the worst salmon i've had in a long time. It was very very fishy and left a lingering taste in the mouth, unacceptable for a $25 meal, especially when you can get fresh salmon currently. Server and service was Eh at best, don't waste your money coming here, new management needs to take over and bring a better place to the prime GH spot. Spent about $80 for this meal total, and only had waters to drink.
Not worth the money, and will not be coming back. Girlfriend later that night had to go to ER due to stomach pain, they couldn't find anything wrong with her, so i hope the food wasn't at fault, but it's a possibility.

A friend and I spent the day in Grand Haven. We decided to grab some early dinner at the Kirby house. We were seated quickly in a front corner a great view out the window. We started with the Poke bowel as a appetizer which was delicious, and some refreshing mango lemonade. My friend got the margarita pizza which she enjoyed and I got the cauliflower steak which was a generous portion and also very good.
Service was slightly slow, however the hostess, server, and food runner were all very kind and made sure we were taken care of. Great environment, excited to take advantage of the bar next time!

Gilmore Group catered our wedding this past weekend and it was fabulous! Not only was the food amazing and fresh. it was continually refilled on point. Our "Superman" Charlie, of Gilmore, not only managed the ins and outs of the event but he checked on me the night before and throughout the afternoon to make sure I was doing fine! Charlie and the Gilmore group exceeded our expectations. Without a doubt this is the organization you want catering your special day. Highly recommend!

Service and food were both good. Location is good, and while this is slightly pricier than similar restaurants might be, the portions are reasonable. Would recommend this place. The food here wasn't amazing, but it was good. The rosemary garlic fries didn't taste at all like rosemary, but it was a large portion of seasoned, well-cooked fries.
The white chicken chili was fine. It definitely goes best with the corn chips provided. I probably wouldn't order it again, but if I had it, I would enjoy it. The walleye blt was well done, and the potato chips as a side, while a stingy way of providing a "side", at least were quite a large portion of chips. Service here was great. Just the right amount of attention on a busy summer Sunday evening, and all of our requests (for water, napkins, ketchip, aioli) were tended to immediately. Servers were pleasant. Bonus points for the girl working the outdoor seating area. We'd asked how long the wait would be, and she said the indoor wait might be shorter, so we went to check.
When we came back outside to put our names down for outside dining, she had already written us down on the list -- just in case -- so that we wouldn't be bumped further down the list. So the food is fine, but the best part of the experience was the service. There was some live music provided, and you can also easily hear from here any performance going on at the waterfront.

Saturday was a great day, good weather and this corner apparently is a trending place right now. I'd definitely suggest this place but take your time since the outside part is about 15 tables, there's no reservations so we had to put our name and went to the bar inside. Since they don't have a communication system I had to check every 15 min with the hostess outside.
Meanwhile we had some drinks and I tried this bloody Mary who turned out to be a very unique drink, it has a celery stick, bacon on a stick, green chili, a slice of salami and a pickle! This was original and s new thing to taste. Once outside we ordered a meatsa pizza, it's like 12 inches but was very tasty and crunchy. Along with that we had an order of fries and this was amazing it was a huge bowl with their seasoned fries it was enough for three people! Definitely will go back but they have to be better at paging people!

Went here for our first outing with restaurants opening back up and I'd never been. I was was pleasantly surprised. I assume downtown grand haven, close to the pier would be over priced and lack quality. Kirby had neither of those issues. I got a pizza and cheese bread with a cocktail and it was great. I think it would be 5 stars if their menu was a little more concise. Asian, Mexican, Italian, burgers, seafood. a little bit of everything.
While it was good, there's no way to excel at all of those things without skimping on ingredient cost, either running out or going for cheap. The marinara was a dead giveaway they did the latter. Taste canned, Burrito is premade shredded chicken, I'm quite sure most of their sauces are from bottle not made in-house. But all in all not bad. My cocktail 101 proof brown sugar bourbon old fashioned as quite good. We'll be back.

Kirby Grill Room: Thinking I would support a local business and treat my wife and children to a fine dining experience, but this was a major disappointment. Walking into loud music and our waiter showing up in sneakers, jeans and a tee-shirt was a sign of worse things to come. My son ordered the Valentines weekend special, a medium well beef tenderloin with grilled shrimp, asparagus and potato.
The food arrived slightly cold, my sons steak was raw and cold in the center and it was covered in caned minced garlic. The waiter could tell we were not satisfied with how it was cooked and also commented that it was not cooked. We also asked for drink refills at this time. They took the beef and returned it "refired" and still not medium well. After that we only had seen our waiter toward the end of the meal and never recieved out drinks.
The manager stopped and commented that she yelled at the chef several times and swears that they can cook a steak. She went on to say that she would keep yelling at them. They did credit one of our meals, but the experience was so bad that we will not be returning. Disappointed family. Poor service Poor Food Poor Management

This was kinda going to be a 3.5 but I gotta round up for the service which was great. Beer menu was fine, lots of nice local craft beer and our server actually brought out a couple cans so I could read about the new ones they had available. It was a genuine touch. The menu is really rather limited and pretty skeptical about some of those items. Not sure a beach restaurant is where I'd go for drunken noodles and the things you might want are all quite expensive. $25 for a salmon bowl? excessive. $15 for a fish sandwich is a lot too.
We both got the tacos - $13 for three - which were actually quite good. The mahi tacos had this awesome seasoning, kinda blackening spiced seasoning. The chicken on the other hand was a bit bland and really could've benefited from that same seasoning. Plenty of protein in both sets of tacos so it probably just justified the price. Would I go back? maybe for the mahi tacos, but otherwise, overrated.

We decided to celebrate new years at the 20 Monroe Live venue. We purchased VIP tickets in one of the booths on the Mezz. They were very disorganized giving us the wrong wrist bands and there was much confusion of the value of the drink tickets. The "Lavish Hors d'oeuvres" that were promissed were cold and not at all what was advertised. There was no carving station as promised, domestic cheese display, wood grilled vegetable crudites, fresh petite vegetable summer rolls, sliders, artichoke dip and several other items that were promised.
We asked the staff where these items could be found and we were directed to small tables with four very poor quality and cold items. We did get cold pizza after twelve from one of the very low end pizza chains. We were lead to believe that by purchasing the VIP Mezz tickets that it would be a restricted area to only VIP ticket holders instead there was a lot of general traffic walking through the area creating congestion and security issues.
I will say that the second DJ was awesome and entertaining. The first DJ played music that just did not get the croud enthused and pumped up. There seemed to be pleanty of staff but they were not organized well and uninformed as to the plans for the event. Over all it was a very disappointing night for the $150.00 per ticket that we paid. We love this venue and have always been very happy with the Gilmore group. We will have to rethink our plans for next years celebration.
