Ryke's Bakery Catering & Cafe

Ryke's is the best bakery I've ever been to. I go to AZ in the winter and there's no bakery there that matches. Their buttercream frosting is far superior to any I've ever had!

I went in today to buy some cookies for clients and was immediately greeted by a very kind woman-ready to help me. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. I wish I would have thought to check for a name tag because her service left am impression on me. I should also mention that the donuts and cookies were fantastic.

The staff are very friendly. The lady was very patient with my three year old grandson while he picked out a special treat for his birthday. Everything is always fresh and tasty.

Bought a strawberry filled cake for my husband's birthday. Online ordering made it super easy. Everyone who tried the cake at his party said it was very good!

I would give them 10 stars! They have created beautiful and delicious cupcakes and cakes for many of our important family events. From a baby shower to birthdays and of course our wedding, we always choose Ryke's!

My first experience with Ryke's was free cookie day walking home from kindergarten @Moon School in 1959. Yes 5 year olds once walk home from school, often alone. I've been a fan of the butter cookies ever since. They seemed bigger then, or maybe my hands were smaller! Back then I was satisfied with one. Now I have to force myself to stop before the box is gone! Their cakes are ok, but I'm not a fan of heavily frosted bakery cake. I'm a pie guy. I've had a few of the other pastries, but nothing compares to the butter cookies.

Shout out to Ryke's for their excellent customer service! We've been ordering from them for decades and today proved why we love to support this local businesss! We had completely forgotten to pick up our cake and when I called 2 minutes before closing they agreed to stay a few minutes until I could get there. Totally saved the day!

Poor service. Old donuts. Questionable customer service. Came highly recommended. I was not impressed.

I have enjoyed Ryke's cakes since I was young. I remember it always being a special cake when we had family birthdays and graduations. Beautiful decorating and they taste amazing. Just ordered my wedding cake from them!

Absolutely hands down best place ever. Was my 1st time going into the bakery and I really didn't know where to begin. And amazing woman stopped what appeared to be a break in progress or at the very least a beverage refill to help me figure out what I wanted and then took the time to write on the cake too. All this with in minutes of stepping foot in the door. Impressed and I will return.

This place USED to be really good. The quality has gone to the dogs though. Actually, I don't even think my dogs would eat this. I just got two muffins today 1/11/22 and they taste and feel like they are several days old. The chocolate chips on the top look old. The outsides are hard and tasteless. The blueberry muffin has no crumb on top and only 4 blueberries. They will never again get my business and I will tell everyone I know not to go there.

Tasty and they look good, but they are no different than donuts from the gas station. The ingredients are low quality: artificial flavors, high fructose corn syrup, bleached flour, soy lecithin, mono and diglycerides, natural vanilla flavor, and much more!

Ryke's Bakery is THE BEST bakery in Muskegon. You know there's something special going on when you get a cake for an event and the first question people ask is, "did you get it from Ryke's?" And then when you say yes they get excited. The buttercream icing is very good and they make a whipped icing that is also incredible and that means a lot coming from me because I don't normally like whipped icing. Also, their cafe burritos are my favorite! I look forward to those returning to the menu.

Tables and floor are still dirty. On a separate note, there is an emerging cannoli market in the area. I wish they would make cannolis on demand and custom.

Great donuts. Wish they had outdoor seating but we stood outside with our dog and enjoyed ourselves anyway. Friendly staff too!

I love Ryke's food and cake; have been going to the Muskegon location for years and the Grand Haven location since it opened, as a local. Today there was one person in line in front of me -that was helped promptly. The lady behind the counter then went to the back area behind the counter, where two other employees were working on an order, she proceeded to help them, while I stood and waited -within view- for a number of minutes without ever acknowledging that I was there or saying anything. Three employees all working on an order in the backroom while I stood there for a number of minutes, and I turned around and walked out!

Their custom cakes are not only adorable but SO delicious! My 5 year old is obsessed with bacon and they made him the cutest cake! Their donuts are out of this world, as are their pastries. Their Grand Haven location is conveniently located and the staff is so friendly. I will always order our cakes here!

Ridculously huge and tasty doughnuts.that's all I need to say. I will be back tomorrow!

This, by far, is the absolute best bakery I have ever been to, besides the one I went to in Mazlon, Texas, but it had illegal aliens, so I'm sure it's closed now. #ThanksTrump Anyways, I'm really happy with the butter-thin cookies and the cakes. I once asked for them to put a special message on one of my cakes that said, "Eat me daddy" which I thought was super fitting because it was for my father's retirement party.

Everyone at the party seemed to scoff at the cake though, maybe it's because I requested the glitter writing. Anyways, I love this place so much I'm getting a cake mixed with the placenta of my new born to celebrate his birth. His name is Jaquellen. And I also hope that when I die they mix my ashes in a cake and serve it to my loved ones so that I can be with them after death, or in this case in them. Highly recommend

Just stopped at the Bakery in Grand Haven for my first time. Usually stop at the Muskegon location on Laketon. It'll be my first and last time. I will have second thoughts about even stopping in the Muskegon location. Donut was thick dry and old. I thought I was purchasing white milk turned out to be flavored. My mistake way overpriced. Be aware of charge for using debit cards. I'm a frequent Traveler. not too many places charge for debit cards very few anymore in the United States. Good luck with this location. Lost my business

Had an amazing Long John with Bavarian cream inside and yummy chocolate on top. Super hot cup of tea and lots of tea choices. Thought the lady that helped us was so kind and friendly. Gotta love Midwesterners! Downside had to share my Long John. Upside: shared with a special friend!

This place came highly recommended so I decided to give it a try. And they did not disappoint! I stopped in for a last minute birthday cake and they had several of their most requested already prepared in their refrigerated section. I went with their round marble cake that is swirled with chocolate and vanilla cake. It was mostly vanilla so if you are expecting chocolate, get chocolate or have it custom made with layers each of chocolate and vanilla.

The inside was filled with bavarian creme between each layer. I am not a birthday cake person, they are usually too sweet. But their cake definitely surpassed my expectations. It taste like it had been freshly prepared. and not too sweet like most cakes. It was only $23.

Stopped in for a quick lunch and had an amazing egg salad on a croissant. I was amazed at the helpful staff and the complete pastry selection. I didn't expect so much variety at a second location. I ended up leaving with a cake that was personalized on the spot. They had samples out of their cake. I wish I would have tried their butter cookies. They looked good too. Beautiful, clean, convenient and friendly shop!
