We used Saffron 59 for our wedding in April and they were fantastic! So easy to work with and such pros working with everyone from the venue to my sisters-in-law to be. A huge plus for me was how incredibly friendly everyone was from the first email to the last cocktail. The food was amazing and they took such great care of us and our 250 guests. I would recommend to anyone!

FIVE STARS. Hands down. Irene and her team were/are/will forever be amazing in my book. We actually had another caterer lined up (with deposit paid!) for our 2014 wedding, and almost didn't go to the Saffron59 tasting! But The Flavors! And The Presentation! Each dish was a masterpiece, and my notoriously picky eater of a husband liked everything that came out of the kitchen.
My husband is Jamaican and my family is from Hawaii & Nevis so we wanted our menu to be authentically us. Saffron 59 embraced the challenge, coming up with inventive signature cocktails and a full buffet style meal showcasing both of our cultures. They planned the menu, hired the staff and even gave us the baker for our wedding cake (which was to die for).
They were reasonable, warm and giving. And they were involved from day one, doing venue walk thrus with us; connecting with our day of coordinators; helping move the day along from cocktail hour to sit down dinner to cake cutting. They also made sure our vendors were fed and our guests were happy. Even now, years later, we still keep in touch with Irene and her team, and have been known to drop by a Saffron59 tasting or two. They're seriously like family now.

One of the best caterers in the city. I recently went to a Chinese New Year's celebration at MoCA which Saffron catered. I loved everything from the appetizers to the wonderful red snapper that was served as the main course. I also appreciated how much Saffron is able to accommodate dietary restrictions of various guests.

Saffron 59 was a joy to work with in planning my daughter's graduation open house party. With 7-8 appetizers served by lovely friendly staff. Like a family. My Asian American guest list to feed and resulting in rave reviews! With ample amounts, too. Irene bought a centerpiece of floating flowers in a giant golden lacquer bowl complementing our Asian decor. An occasion to remember!

Irene, Leili and her entire staff make planning a successful party so simple. The food is always so perfectly plated but beyond delicious. I ALWAYS get at least one or two dumplings orders. Irene always help me decide how to organize a perfectly balanced menu, while taking our dietary restrictions and preferences into consideration. They make many options that are gluten free and on the lighter, healthier side.
They make everything simple by having a unique visual presentation everything ready for the first guest to arrive. Also, after an initial phone call, I can organize a highly successful party all via emails. Even better is after, the kitchen is spotless and there are some yummy leftovers hiding in the fridge. The staff who arrive are fun, professional, and attentive: important when you have strangers in your home. We can't recommend Saffron59 enough. We have used them for over 14 years, for parties large and small.

We can't recommend Saffron 59 highly enough. My husband and I were planning a gathering of about 120 people for our wedding party and were thrilled when we found a caterer who specializes in southeast Asian cooking. Irene, Kay, Leili, and the rest of the staff were incredibly attentive to our needs. My family is Indonesian, so we really wanted food that felt like home to my family and something our friends would also enjoy.
Our budget was on the small side, but rather than attempt to guilt us into spending more than we could afford, they listened and worked with us to find a way to have amazing food for our wedding party without going bankrupt. We also had a space with very limited facilities, so they orchestrated bringing their own equipment in addition to very beatiful serving plates and wares. It's their deftness in ancillary matters that make Saffron 59 feel more a collaborator than someone who just shows up with food.
And the food was incredible! Even the vegans, vegetarians, and picky eaters found several dishes they'd chase down again and again. We're happy to recommend this business!

Saffron59 catered my husband's 50th birthday party and did an amazing job feeding 40 people. The food was delicious, inventive, and very popular with the guests; the staff very professional; and Irene, Leili and everyone else very easy to communicate with during the planning stage. By coincidence Irene had catered the weddings of not one but two different guests at our party, which only amplifies our recommendation. We want to have another party just so we can use Saffron59 again!

Everything was wonderful. The food was great and everyone commented on how delicious all the dishes were. The staff was very professional and setup and delivered quite a spread in the middle of a snow storm like pros. I highly recommended especially if you want some fun and different cuisine for a party to use Saffron 59. Who doesn't like Dim Sum? From the first conversation to contracting and the execution of the event they were on top of every detail. Well done!

Irene Wong and her crew did a fantastic job catering and coordinating our wedding of 120 people in upstate New York. The food was fantastic -- delicious, innovative, beautifully presented and conceived, and we received innumerable compliments from our guests. Irene is also a pleasure to work with. She ably coordinated the rentals and helped us arrange all of the details needed to make things run smoothly on the day off.
My wife and I could not have had the same wedding without them, and we would work with them again in a heartbeat. Saffron59 is a rare find -- from top to bottom, one of the best caterers and event planners around.

Chef Wong catered our wedding a few weeks ago. The food was delicious and the service was incredible. She took care of all of the food and the staff and put us completely at ease. Saffron 59 would be great for any small or large event you're planning-particularly if you want to impress your friends with the grace and flow of a well catered party with beautifully executed Thai and Malaysian dishes.

I love working with the Saffron 59! They understand their client needs immediately and work with you to create the perfect menu! Just last week we had a celebration of Chinese language and culture and the staff came with chinese shirts - one of their waiters greeted our guests in Chinese and wrote the menu cards in Chinese characters! The menu was perfect combining flavors and symbols to create the perfect event. Irene, Leili and Jonathan are a pleasure to work with - true professionals. The food is excellent - you won't be disappointed!

Chef Wong does an amazing job at catering special events. I went to a special event at the Museum of Chinese in America which Saffron catered and the food was excellent. I loved the whole cooked Red Snapper and delicious lo mein noodles as well as the many appetizers passed around during cocktail hour. If you want asian food for your event I highly recommend Saffron 59.

If you're a lucky couple, you have months to look for a great caterer, but we only had a short window to lock someone in. In that time, we got to know and adore Irene and the staff at Saffron 59. They took great care in crafting an authentic Jamaican/Hawaiian menu for us, including delicious new takes on some of our old family favorites. And the food!
It was so fresh and so flavorful, people are STILL asking us for recipes! Saffron 59 genuinely care about their work, but more importantly they really do care about their customers. Ours was a dinner party to celebrate my wife's birthday. It was a brilliant idea to have it catered and Saffron 59 was a perfect choice. Irene and entire staff demonstrated true professionalism, super coordination and friendliness throughout, assisting early with our choice of menu, wine bar-setup, a fine cut of rib eye steak (grilled on spot) and a birthday cake with "layer of green tea butter cream and chocolate glaze" that was divine!
The buffet classically prepared and so well presented, that our Guests whipped out iphones and cameras snapping pictures before we could settle down to a dinner that was most glorious! My wife's comment: "we can do this whole thing again just for the hors d'oeuvres and the "fresh longevity noodles with shiitake mushroom. and Oh. "the braised baby Shanghai bok choy with Chinese mushroom and lily buds" Simply Delightful! Peter McBain

Nearly 5 years later and our friends still rave about the food from our wedding! Irene and her staff worked with us (and our budget) to perfect a buffet menu that combined dishes that represented our Indian and Vietnamese heritages. Outside of the catering aspect, Irene helped us navigate the logistics of party planning in the city, as we were out-of-towners attempting to hold a wedding in Brooklyn.

Saffron 59 provided food, drinks and service for a party of 30 in our home on January 21, 2012. Saffron went over the menu, wines, service arrangements, staffing and everything with us beforehand, and they were most responsive to our wishes. For example, they agreed to serve a birthday cake we ordered from elsewhere. The evening turned out to be a total delight.
We received enthusiastic comments from nearly every guest praising the quality and variety of the fare. The unusual hors d'oeuvres were to die for, a genuine highlight. The selection of wines perfectly complemented the food. The Saffron 59 staff were charming, efficient and unfailingly attentive to detail. They made us and our guests feel comfortable and relaxed.
