We have used Dave and DRJ Catering (BBQ Specialist) on multiple occasions both personally and for our corporate catering needs and the only thing I can tell you is call early cause they book up fast! And for good reason! Their slow cooked pulled pork and brisket is to die for and the service is always fun and performed with a smile. Dave is involved in many charitable relief efforts as well, so he is a great business owner to support as during nationwide tragedies, he and his family owned business are often providing relief to families in need. Thanks Dave for all you do!

David and Regina were amazing and catered to every one of my company's needs! They catered an event for us and I would recommend them to anyone for any special occasion. I want to thank DRJ Catering for doing an amazing job for my husband's 40th birthday party Pig Roast. David was extremely friendly and the food was amazing. He kept in contact with me leading up to the party. Making sure he knew exactly what I wanted and when. During the party he noticed that we had some events going that donated money to the wounded warrior project. He then told me about some of the charity work he does and proceeded to donate money for our cause. I highly recommend them for any of your catering needs.

I had Dave do a full cow roast for me at my wedding and it was hands down the best catering choice by far. Out of all the caterers I contacted, he was the only one capable of doing a cow roast, something rather uncommon. However, Dave willingly took on the challenge and went above and beyond to make sure it came out perfect. The meal was around noon and the cow had to be cooked overnight. Dave pulled an all nighter and stayed in the parking lot monitoring the cow's temperature throughout the night as it cooked.

If this doesn't speak volumes about his commitment to catering excellence, then I don't know what would. I was so thoroughly impressed by his work ethic and commitment to perfecting his craft. If there is one person you can trust with your catering needs - it's Dave. At the wedding itself, the cow roast was the crown of the meal. Absolutely all the guests loved it and everyone complimented it - as well as the sauce!

It was unique, novel, and delicious. I cannot over recommend Dave and DRJ. As a person, he is personable, relatable, easy to talk to, and happy to advise on how to best serve and present the food. I will certainly be going back to him for future catering needs. Highly recommended! It's too bad this review is capped at 5 stars, because he deserves more.

DJR recently catered my Dad's memorial service. From booking thru the event David an Regina were awesome. Working with 3 siblings on a menu can be challenging at best and David took it all in stride. And the most important part, THE FOOD We had catered the traditional barbecue with some standard and premium sides The burger dogs sausage and chicken wert great.

And the grilled veggies even Allen me to have a portobello and roasted red pepper sandwich with a side of more grilled veggies I can say enough great things about the awesome family owned business who also participates in. OPERATION BBQ! If you are in NJ forget the chains call David and Regina at DJR Catering. I promise you will not be dissapointed.

I was originally planning on having DRJ roast a pig for my wedding, but after it was canceled I decided to let them keep my deposit for a future event. I ended having them cater my baby shower. It was an assortment of delicious brunch foods that included a yogurt an's granola station with fresh fruit and TONS of toppings, bagels, muffins, danishes, cinnamon buns, breakfast sausage and hashbrowns. Everything was delicious and they made it completely seamless for me. I highly recommend!

David and his staff were exceptional! We had a backyard bbq wedding and OMG they did an amazing job. From salad to PIG ROAST to cake they took care of everything. We didn't lift a finger. They helped with planning, rentals, menu and crazy weather changes. Honestly they made our day smooth and easy and delicious. Can't wait to plan another party with them!

I called DRJ Catering last minute looking for options for a Labor Day BBQ. At this point, it was too late for a pig roast. I already had a lot of food purchased but needed an option that freed me up for the party. They suggested going the route of hiring someone to grill. PERFECT SOLUTION and AFFORDABLE! Krystal arrived on the day of, early, and was fantastic. Will be doing this again for all future BBQs!

Placed an order for a party of 8 and I should have ordered more! David was extremely friendly and kept in contact over the weeks before our party. He hand delivered our tray of pulled pork with rolls and many sauces that were delicious! I couldn't decide which one was my favorite. It went so quick and everyone was raving about how yummy the pulled pork was! Will definitely order from DRJ again!

David helped cater a small surprise birthday party for my girlfriend. Not sure which was better, Davids customer service or the amazing bbq food we got for our small party. David, on short notice, provided us with a tray of some of the best pulled pork and mac&cheese me and my guests had ever had. You can tell he takes his food serious no matter how big or small the party. I 100% will be using DRJ Catering again in the future.

Dave was like a brother that came along side during a wild time that included 3 of our children getting married in 3 different states in 3 weeks during the Christmas/New Year's time frame. He didn't let anything slip through the cracks. he stayed focused, worked with us to develop the menu, sent paperwork/invoices in a timely manner and met us when we traveled North to see the house we'd be staying in and using as a rehearsal dinner venu. Regina, his wife joined in towards the end and when the two showed up, it felt like family pro's arrived. Professional, Knowledgeable, Friendly, . the food was Delicious. the few leftovers that survived the night were Inhaled the next day. Dave, you and your wife Regina are truly the best of the best. We still think you should move South.;

I hired DRJ Catering for my parent's 60th Wedding Anniversary and couldn't have been happier! Dave and Regina did an amazing job and really took the stress out of the planning! There were so many choices on their menu to choose from that I couldn't decide. Dave suggested stuffed shells, meatballs and sausage and peppers, and salad and even though our party was inside, in December, Dave grilled the sausages outside on the grill!

We had sixty guests at our party and everyone that I spoke with commented on how great the food was. Not only was the food excellent, but Regina, is so nice that she even helped me with my decorations! I would hire DRJ again without giving it a second thought. Delicious food, professional service, and fun! I had high expectations and they were surpassed. David's experience with pig roast catering was so evident.and eyes, tongues, and tummies were all satisfied. Leftovers (surprisingly and fortunately for us there were some) were packaged for us and containers of sauces left for our enjoyment. The beef ribs were huge and delicious! Outstanding!

Choosing DRJ Catering for my husband's surprise 70th was the best thing I could have done. Communication throughout the planning was excellent. David always returned calls and emails promptly. The day of the party, he arrived early for set up of equipment for roasting, smoking, and frying foods.and the display was so appealing to the eye. His serve staff were professional and on top of everything.

The best was the quality and amount of food. Everyone found something to enjoy and raved about it. Several guests asked for info and plan to use DRJ for their event. I highly recommend them for any special occasion.

On behalf of the Class of '66, Arthur L. Johnson High School, Clark, NJ, I would like to thank DRJ Catering for making our COLLECTIVE 70TH BIRTHDAY PARTY a memorable affair. The appetizers were excellent; tasty, filling, and served by a helpful, friendly wait-staff. The Bar-B-Q was beyond exceptional; Mr. Piggy was succulent and tender and the presentation was right out of a luau!

We ate 'til we dropped and still had enough to send everyone home with a large container of pork. The sides were dee-lish and the perfect compliment to the meal. I cannot believe anyone had room for fruit salad and ice cream, but we managed to get that down, as well. David is a real gentleman and a pleasure to deal with. Regina and the rest of the staff were congenial and accommodating. I would use their services again in a heart-beat!

DRJ Catering helped us host our engagement party this past weekend and the pig was a hit! I can't even begin to tell you what a kick everyone got out of the display - and the meat ans sauces were absolutely delicious too! The whole team at DRJ was very professional and quick to respond to all of my phone calls and e-mails. All in all they helped make our day one for the books!

We had DRJ Catering for our Yacht Club pig roast on 7/27/18. David was professional, showed up timely, and most importantly delivered a delicious meal! Our guests raved about the pork, beans and scrumptious sauces. We can't wait to do it again!

Professionally catered Pig Roast. Exactly what we were looking for as we did not want the same old summer BBQ. They were professionally engaged from our first contact right through clean up at the end of the event. Everyone came away feeling that the day was special and the food was outstanding.

David and Regina were above and beyond wonderful to work with. From the start they were accommodating and thorough with suggestions within our budget. They always returned my calls or emails right away. They were even in touch with me on the way out to the event. We got compliments on the food the whole night and even days after the party was over.

One of their servers realized that I was so busy talking that I hadn't been eating much. He made me a plate of appetizers and put it aside for me. We had the French fry bar which was a huge hit. We look forward to using them again!

The food looked great, but there was that one small problem.the food tasted like their fire starter. The ribs were nice and meaty. The pulled pork also looked great. The moment you start chewing you taste the chemicals in the food unfortunately. Maybe they had a bad day, but wouldn't recommend this.

We were beyond happy with the way everything turned out and would recommend them to anyone who is looking to find a caterer outside of the cliche wedding catering experience. Searching for wedding caterers is an incredibly frustrating process for anyone looking for a more custom experience without having to go into debt. We were at the end of our rope by the time we came upon DRJ Catering and were elated to find that we could finally get exactly what we wanted at a reasonable price.

The owner, his wife, and their excellent team worked without needing direction (to my knowledge) on the day of and I don't think we could have pulled off our backyard wedding without their hard work and professionalism. They truly went above and beyond, for which we will be eternally grateful. I would not hesitate to hire them again for any function needing a caterer.

We hired DRJ catering for my son's 1st bday party which was a bbq at a public park. Approximately 75 ppl including children. Best party I've ever thrown! The service, food, planning, and responsiveness was completely professional and top notch. David and Regina are the owners and were wonderful to interact with. They did everything from buying the food to cooking the food on their grill and setting up the buffet.

They even worked with our dietary restrictions with regards to the meat they used. They were absolutely worth the money and I'll definitely use them again, as will many of my guests I'm sure!

DRJ catered our company barbecue and they did a fantastic job from start to finish. They offered a variety of items to select from, They came in set up and handled everything from start to finish very professionally. There Barbecue items were outstanding finger licking good. DRJ Catered my easter brunch today and we were so pleased with the event! Food was great, service was wonderful, dave and regina were so professional and easy to work with. Would recommend them for any of your events!

I'm excited to see these guys on my beloved Yelp! because I have used DRJ multiple times for events at my mother's home in NJ. From pig roasts to bbq to fancy dinners with walk-around service, DRJ has got it all covered. The last time we used them was this summer for an outdoor bbq. They rolled up with this great smoker filled with tons of delicious meat.

We had amazing ribs with the most spectacular dry-rub. The meat was falling off the bone with a great smokey flavor. We also had pulled pork. Tender, juicy, and deeeeeelish! The smokey flavor didn't kill the sweet flavor of the pork at all and I just couldn't get enough. Add a little bbq sauce, and it was heaven! Finally we had the smoked brisket.

I like their brisket because instead of being sliced like most smoked brisket, it was more chunked. I think this kept it much more moist than other brisket's I've had and made for soem great flavor. The "bark" on this meat was great and the meat was to die for. Combine all of that smokey goodness with some coleslaw, potato salad, and fresh Jersey corn that they brought, and it sure was one hell of a feast!

I can't recommend DRJ enough.for any type of event you're having. Oh, and every once in a while I'm lucky enough to catch them at one of the local seafood festivals.they have the best oysters and AMAZING softshell crabs! So keep your eyes open and make sure to book with them early so you can get your date!

We hired DRJ catering to provide services for our wedding reception, which we were holding as an outdoor event in my parents backyard in watchung, nj. We were doing a 'luau' theme and thus were very intent on having hawaiian food and in particular a roasted pig. DRJ had all this and more. They were fantastic in every dimension. They showed up on time and immediately started roasting a whole pig in our driveway, which honestly was just so cool!

On top of that their appetizers were also so delicious, especially the hawaiian meatballs. The service also exceeded my expectations. We hired two servers and a bartender. Beyond the normal stuff, they helped us figure out how to serve the various beverages, how much ice we needed, and how to set up all our tables. The bartender made such delicious drinks too. My full recommendation for anyone looking for a pig roast!
