These pumpkin snickerdoodles are super soft and chewy, with plenty of pumpkin pie spice and pumpkin, this is everything you want in a fall treat. They are coated in cinnamon and sugar giving a crackly sugary exterior. If you love pumpkin and snickerdoodles, then this is a recipe to try this fall! You can now enjoy our fall favorite soup at home!
Heat the butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onion, carrot, salt, and saute until soft, 5 to 8 minutes. Add the squash and cook until it begins to soften, stirring occasionally, for 8 to 10 minutes. 3. Let cool slightly and pour the soup into a blender, working in batches if necessary, and blend until smooth. If your soup is too thick, add up to 1 cup more broth and blend. Season to taste.

Ridiculously unfriendly. No one says hello. Waiting to order no one approaches you. They're trained to not smile.

If I could leave negative stars I would, everything was disgusting. I got a meatloaf that cost something like $15 that was a hard, dry, awful rock. I also purchased lasagna that was $16.99 and was disgusting, too many reasons to list. Finally i got a chicken enchillada that was dry, gross and unediible. I spent $60 on 3 meals that all went directly into the garbage. SAVE YOUR $$$ THIS PLACE IS AWFUL.

It used to be a pretty decent place to buy all kinds of food. Now, the employees have no clue on what they're doing and no class.

I ran in after not being there for quite a few years and was shocked at the lack of food options now. The Lack of Appeal of the food there. And the unfriendly sterile look of the Evanston store which I went in. And the Lake Forest store which I walked by this summer. There used to be such variety. Loads of interesting foods that compelled you to just try them.

The warmth of baskets, kitchenware, towels and design. That inspired you to cook. Every section of the stores used to be a wonder of exploration. You used to be able to look in the window and be pulled in by the inviting warmth that came from the stores. They are quite different now, and they look more like a hospital setting. I just couldn't believe it. I have been tempted to go see Dave at the seafood counter in Glencoe. Because I trust him. But won't step into that place, because of owner management in that store.sigh.

This location feels much different from their other location in Glencoe - it's more spacious and yet feels like they have less variety and are less posh. The prices though, are still pretty steep. I like that they have a variety of items including cheese, meats, soups, sandwiches, and cold deli selections including their famous tuna salad, chicken salads, and other cold items to go.

I particularly enjoyed their tuna salad, but thought their chicken salad was a bit dry. Everyone I've encountered here though is very friendly and they're in a great location, where street parking is generally plentiful and is very close to other restaurants and cafes. Solid addition to the neighborhood.

I would love to come back here but unfortunately I live in fear of getting food poisoning again. The last time I came I got it because I had one of their BYO salads. Besides that they have really good desserts and soups. Decent place to come in for a quick lunch. But very hesitant to go back. In fact many people on social media have commented that they got food poisoning coming here or their other locations as well

I love Foodstuffs! As a loyal neighborhood customer for 10 years, I highly recommend their butternut squash soup- it's the best ever! Everything there is high quality, hence some high prices at times. Steer clear of Sal though (hence the 4 stars), I believe he's the manager and not at all friendly- definitely can't be bothered to help customers and I've stood there waiting for help multiple times while he is just standing around! It's not a good feeling as a customer to feel like you are interrupting - trust me!

Terrible turkey on croissant sandwich--tough croissant, congealed bacon, no turkey, no mayo.

Over priced and poor service. You pay $32 for a specialty salad and they want to charge another $8 for dressing! Shouldn't specialty salad pricing include dressing?

If you are looking for the all time greatest choose your own ingredients salad--look no further. Food stuffs never ceases to amaze me with their killer chopped salad ingredients. They have every option from 3 types of lettuce to 5 types of crotons and the single best balsamic vinegar dressing ever made. And while I know paper bowls are better for the environment--there is nothing better than eating your foodstuffs homemade salad in the park across the street out of a plastic bowl.

They do have paper bowls for those of us looking to make the smarter choice and that is their default which I commend them on. If I had to make a critique I would say that I wish they cut their chicken a bit more. Sometimes the lack of uncut chicken makes me lower my review of this amazing salad. For 10$ this has to be my favorite place for a salad.

I love this store and would give it 6 stars for store design and sandwiches but the prices are so completely out of whack I can no longer support it. We just got back home with out four take-out salads, for which I paid over $70 (one was $20.50!) There are many restaurants in the area offering salads for $15 or less, so taking home a $20 one in a bag makes no sense. It's good, but not that good. Goodbye Foodstuffs.

Cute store with lots of cool stuff. I loved all the prepackaged pastries and the goodies in the display window. There's all sorts of different meats, cheeses, and drinks to purchase. There's a deli that you can buy food at and a sandwich station. I waited about 25-30 minutes for a sandwich that I watched be heated up, the only warm thing was the bread.

Chicken on the sandwich was cold. It was not at all busy when I came either. There were only a couple of other people in the store. Very disappointing. None of the employees that I encountered here were friendly or welcoming which is a shame. It was cool checking it out but it just feels like another store with overpriced inventory.

Any place that makes Whole Foods look cheap is a no go. I understand it's "gourmet", but the prices are ridiculous! Customer service is good, but some of the employees seem a little overworked or jaded at times. If you are looking for baked goods, Tag's Bakery is right up the street and has reasonable prices. For other stuff, just go to Mariano's, Jewel, or even Whole Foods and save yourself some money.

I was not very impressed. It wasn't very busy and service to get sandwich took forever. I got a chipotle chicken panini and it wasn't even warm when I got it. The food was way over priced. The place was set up very nice and it was very clean, but I would probably not go back again.

Foodstuffs' oatmeal raison and chocolate chip cookies are perhaps among the best in the world. And I don't exaggerate. Much. Balance of sweet and salty. Crispy outside, succulent on the inside. Not to mention the lobster roll sandwiches and California Dreamin' salad. Have yet to walk out feeling unsatisfied. My only complaint is that they no longer offer the oatmeal cookies on Sunday. C'mon. it's not that much more work, Foodstuffs.

Lots of prepared, ready to go foods here. If you find yourself having to host a last minute party where you want to impress your guests into thinking you prepared everything yourself, then this is the place where you can buy that food! We dropped in on the weekend and was able to try some free food samples. The spreads and sweets tasted great. They have a huge selection of foods and brands. There's seating towards the front window as well as a quieter area in the back. The back area has a large collection of cook books you can check out.

First time here and it was Awesome! I saw it on Chicagos Best. I bought the monster bar, worth the calories, chocolate caramel bar, so damn rich I wanted to marry it, No bake monster peanut granola bar bites worth me making an excuse to drive an hour for. Like frfr. I will definitely be back!

I've only had the Evanston location's prepackaged wholegrain flatbread crackers. They are pretty decent- the sesame seeds on them really make them. They're nice to bring to a party or something, as Foodstuffs has a great name!

Went with a friend for lunch. Tried to order a sandwich, but the employee acted like I was not there. I explained it was my first time ordering a sandwich. They didn't care. My order was ready and it was Burnt to a crisp and black on one side. Why would an employee serve a burnt sandwich? Female manager looked at it and right away apologized. They remade the sandwich and the new one looked 10 times better then the first.

I remember the old days of foodstuffs when everything they made was perfection the first time around. The staff was brilliant and your experience was extraordinary. Unfortunately that was not the case today.

One the best roasted tomato soup I've ever had. Very delicious. I've driven past this place plenty of times and finally stopped in. It's such an amazing spot. I love the menu items. Tons of variety and plenty of healthy options. There's a build your own salad bar which was very clean and stocked with fresh crisp veggies. The soup bar had labels with "points" on them, which is safe to assume correlates with weight watchers (soup I had was 4 points). There's a deli area.

Fresh meats, marinades, pastries and even LOBSTER lol. Towards the back is the cutest little study area, with a decent selection of books. There were samples of zucchini bread and butterscotch bread and both were sooo moist and delicious, I had to buy a loaf of each to take home and share with my family. I also bought a bottle of their ginger soy vingarette to use on salads and maybe even a marinade. Can't wait to go back and and buy some more goodies. Compliments to the chef. Such an amazing tasty menu:)

I've been here several times. The other day I walked in and didn't realize they weren't officially open for the day yet, and the manager was nice about it (sorry). It's a gourmet food store with prices to match, but the food is good. The customer service is not straightforward-friendly that you'd find in other places. I don't know if they're unhappy or stressed because of how they're being managed, or if the customers are high-maintenance enough to negatively affect their demeanor.

One exception is a cashier who's been friendly for years, who seems to be enjoying her job. Other than that, I go there for the food, not the overall experience as at other places.

The food options are great, the service is good, but, good lord they are expensive. I paid $16.48 today for a sandwich and a bag of popcorn.

Not sure what to call this smorgasbord of foodie deliciousness but it's definitely worth a visit. The sandwiches are really well-made and there's a ton of choices to pick from. The deli section is pretty good as well. It's a nice place to go if you're in the neighborhood and can't decide what you want. There's a ton of choices that'll make you want to try each and every one out!

As long as you can find parking this store is a great place to stop in for some specialty items. They have a lot of the brands that you find at Whole Foods (on a much smaller scale). I would say the prices are about the same. But where Foodstuffs really shines is the prepared food! They have THE BEST tuna salad I have ever had! UNFORTUNATELY they have not had it the past couple of times I have gone there.

Something about the mayo they use. Luckily the baked goods and other prepared foods make up for it! I can't tell you everything they have because the options are just way too plentiful. I highly recommend that you check it out. Just beware that around lunch time it is SUPER packed, and treacherous parking situation. I wis it was somewhere that was more accessible to the train.

Foodstuffs is a wonderful gourmet mini market that carries fresh homemade items like soups, dips and spreads, quiche, and other prepared foods. The deli counter has a nice variety of salads and other delectable items like samosas, skewers, and I can't forget my favorite; lobster rolls! Oh and the banana bread! Best ever. ($5.99 for small loaf though.) Last night the carrot cake was recommended to me and I can't wait to try it!

There are fish and meat counters, and areas where you can custom make a sandwich or salad! Great tuna salad! They also have a bakery counter with all kinds of pastries, cookies and assorted baked goods. Fresh baked breads at the check out counter, and they always have samples out! I love that they print the schedule, day by day, of what they're offering. Makes planning fun and easy.

I also love just walking around the store, which is in a circle, and seeing what grabs my eye. If you're not disciplined, it's easy to walk out with more than you intended! Only subtracting one star for price. If you're on a budget, this is NOT the place. Yet I prefer it to Whole Foods. You can't do all your grocery shopping here, yet you can find wonderful items and meals (lasagna, enchiladas, pot pies!) and treats. My family has loved everything I've brought home from here! Everyone should check it out and see what you think.

This place is so cute and charming! All the workers were so nice. They'll warm up anything you want so you can eat it there. There were plenty of samples on Saturday morning. We were sitting at a table and a lady came up to me and said I looked freezing and offered me a clean chefs coat to borrow. How so very nice of her! That is going way above and beyond to make sure your customers are happy, comfortable and satisfied.

I'm going to preface this review with the fact this isn't your bargain grocery store, instead expect to pay a little more. To me the place still is an excellent value because all of what they offer is really good. And based on the size of the store they are able to squeeze quite a few options. Some of my personal favorites are the soups and breads. Honestly I'm not sure how you could go wrong. They also provide a decent amount samples, which allows you to try before you buy.

Okay foodstuff's is the best. I could stuff myself with this food for a month straight, it's so good;. I usually get the tuna melt and add avocado; they don't charge extra for avo, here. Their tuna is the best tuna I've ever had. I've gone here many times for their tuna melts. Another plus is the free samples. At this location, there are usually 2-4 samples like a couple dips. My favorite dip is the roasted red pepper dip, especially with the ficelle bread they have. They usually have a desert to sample too. God bless, foodstuffs!
