Services
Most buffet options will run between $15.00 and $20.00 per person, with options as low as $10.00 per person. Linen, staffing and rentals will be available for an additional fee to the menu cost. Most temples require kosher style buffet service. Meat is logistically more difficult to serve, therefore limiting your options.
South Sider Night at Max and Benny's is a tradition that South Shore, Bowen and Hyde Park alumni always look forward to. The fun begins at 5:00 pm. Come with old friends or on your own. Max and Benny's owner, South Shore alum Lester Schlan will be there to greet you. Who knows who you might meet that evening?

Went here when I was younger for family gatherings years ago and I decided to come here for a little date. absolutely fantastic place that still held up to back when I used to go as a kid. appreciate the wide selections on the menu as well. very authentic dishes and even tastier foods. the deli/bakery is awesome too, this is my go to place to pick up Halvah and Raspberry Jelly bars too.

Omelette was good. But they don't know the difference between back olives that I ordered in my omelette vs. Kalamatta olives that they served me! And I specifically asked the server to not put any olives in the omelette if all they had was Kalamatta. Service was a bit slow. Disappointed that a bowl of matzoh ball soup was $7. Thought that was excessive!

I used to love Max and Benny's. Today was the last straw. First the service in the deli was beyond slow. 30 minutes I waited for my order. Then when I got home and saw I didn't get what I had ordered, I called and was told I got what I paid for. That's not the point. Anyways I'm done. Rude and slow. I can get that at the post office.

The perfect place if you are looking for a Jewish Deli. You can't go wrong with soup and a sandwich. Everything else is good too. It is nice to be able to get breakfast all day long too. Today two of us got breakfast and one sandwich. The corned beef hash was very good. The lox hoppel popped was enjoyable and every bit of it was eaten. Stop in when you need a taste of home and some great matzo balls. Enjoy the pictures of the hash and lox

Here for the Matzo (Matzah) Ball soup! Happy that two excellent sizes of Matzo Balls came with a regular-sized order of hearty chicken broth soup. You can tell by the texture and taste that the Matzo Balls are freshly made. The Fried Matzo looked like a good option as well. Service is friendly, speedy, excellent. You can tell a majority of the customers are regulars and have built a friendship amongst the staff. A lot of sweet baked goods I will pick up next visit.

Skip the French toasts breakfast, my toast was mushy instead of crunchy and little chewy with taste. It was just sweet. However the lox and bagel was perfect. The lox was so fresh and super smooooth. The tomato and cream cheese mix it the perfect combo. The whole restaurant was very old school but without the charm. Will try the bakery and deli next time.

I'm very glad I finally got around to dining here. Max and Benny's did not disappoint. Very highly acclaimed Jewish Delicatessen and restaurant. The photo is of the Noshers Delight which was excellent. One of Corned Beef and the other Pastrami served on potato pancakes. The Corned Beef was good but I thought the Pastrami was better. The Mushroom Barley soup was very tasty as well. I can't wait to go back
