Catered by Design was incredible to work with from our tasting to the end of our wedding. Rachel was amazing to work with through the entire process. The food was great, and the service was top notch. Highly recommend!

We started planning our reception three years ago and Catered By Design stood by us every step of the way. They were very accommodating to any changes we had and made great suggestions. Catered by design recently catered my daughters wedding. When we first went for the taste testing I knew we had the right company because of Rachel. What a sincere, knowledgable, and professional she was to work with. She had all the answers we needed and was very confident in her product and staff. At the venue the staff was hard working and nonstop with their service.

The food was absolutely wonderful and everyone enjoyed it. The only complaint I would have was that coffee wasn't offered throughout the night, especially when we paid per person to have it. We must have misunderstood that it was only going to be offered with cake which left a lot of our older guests unhappy. But other than that NO complaints. Thank you and great job

Not only was the food absolutely fantastic, we can't say enough how much we enjoyed working with Sam. His team was fast the night of the wedding and Rachel lead the team flawlessly the entire day. The food is creative and delicious and they cared so much about making our night a great event. Thank you Sam & Rachel for everything!

We just can't say enough about what a wonderful team Catered BY Design is - they totally delivered an unforgettable, wonderful experience! We held a 60th birthday party at our home, and from a to z they were super to work with - patient, helpful, open to discussing our different ideas, and finding solutions that worked for us both. The office team, the planner, the chef, the event staff - they all were on point from beginning to end. Definetely will recommend to anyone, and will certainly use again!

Catered by Design came through for us. The proposal process was very professional, and all communication was timely and responsive. The tasting event was a treat in and of itself, where we were able to pick out our dishes, linens, as well as the dishes. On the big day, Laura made us feel very well taken care of. She was at my side on the day of the event to confirm the timing of everything, and made sure that everything went smoothly.

All the servers, and the bartender were friendly, and helpful. The passed hors d'oeuvres were delicious! The drink bar was beautiful with all of the colored carafes, and San Pellegrino. The mushroom bisque, breads, and entrees all exceeded our highest hopes. The Catered by Design team absolutely made our day, working with our photographer, baker, and florist, harmoniously, part of a dream team. Our guests had a wonderful time, all praised the food and service. We wanted to pamper and impress our guests, and Catered by Design certainly did that.

Catered by Design was wonderful! They catered my March 18th wedding at the Bridgeport Art Center and everything was delicious. From the cocktail hour, all the way to the late night grub, all my guests kept saying how good the food was. I worked with Rachel Jozwik who was so flexible and patient with me on all the changes/additions I kept making. The servers were attentive and professional. I couldn't have asked for a better team. Jennifer was amazing from day one! She was so patient and helpful. Our wedding got postponed 4 times due to the pandemic and she worked with us every time. When the final date finally came, everything went so well! The food and the drinks were over the top! We couldn't have had a better cater! I highly recommend them. I will give them a 10 start review on here if I could!

Matt and his team did a terrific job at our wedding! Matt went ABOVE and BEYOND to address our needs and attend to my family's dietary restrictions. He handled every detail with care from the tasting to ensuring we had extra tables of 8! We chose a brunch menu for our wedding. I especially loved the frittata. You wouldn't think the coffee would be notable, but I thought it was very good!

It was a wonderful celebration and I'm very happy with our choice to go with Catered By Design. I'll also add that Matt had the perfect blend of listening to our vision while at the same time giving suggestions so I didn't feel overwhelmed. 10/10 would choose them again!

I hired Catered by Design for my wedding 8/5/21 and was so happy with the results! All of my guests were raving about the food (many of whom were out-of-town guests and had attended many weddings) and said this was one of their top wedding meals! We chose the beef short ribs and french cut chicken and both dishes were so tender, served to perfection! Also, the staff was THE best in the business, very attentive, friendly and professional.

I will always recommend Sam (owner) and Tami (operations) and their team for any event in the future. They are a family-run business and treat you like you are family. Outstanding caterer!

My husband and I were SO HAPPY with the wonderful wedding dinner and service provided by Rachel and her team at Catered by Design. We were married June 5, 2021, after rescheduling our wedding twice because of COVID-19. When we decided in January 2021 that we'd have to move our wedding outdoors, because of COVID, we needed to select a preferred caterer and chose Catered by Design.

They did not disappoint! In fact, all of our guests raved about the dinner. Rachel was easy to work with, always responded to my emails in a timely fashion, and worked to help add special ideas to make our wedding reception as wonderful as possible. Even a week before the wedding, I suggested we add a raspberry sorbet to accompany the chocolate cake (in case some guests didn't like chocolate).

The combination of raspberry and the chocolate cake was to die for! I could go on. If you are in the Chicago area and planning a wedding or any special event, I would strongly recommend checking out Catered by Design.

I work for the Niles Library and we used Catered by Design for our 60th anniversary last year. I have to say they did a wonderful job! Everyone absolutely loved the food we chose and Catered by Design did such a great job at making everything taste great and look beautiful. I wanted to use them for my upcoming wedding, but our venue provides the food. If I threw a large party and needed a caterer, I'd definitely use Catered by Design.

Catered by Design was a tremendous help to us when our daughter's June 2020 wedding had to be cancelled because of coronavirus. They offered to refund the total deposit we had given them or to deliver meals to family members in the Chicago area, including the bride-to-be, with the deposit money. We chose the meals option. Our family said the entrees, salads, vegetables and desserts were absolutely delicious and delivered to their homes exactly when promised. Catered by Design also delivered meals for us to a local hospital for their staff. Matthew Gray is a true professional and a very caring person.

We will always be grateful to Catered by Design for working so closely with us and bringing joy to our family during a difficult time. In summary, their food is fabulous and their service is excellent.

I have worked with CBD for my wedding, rehearsal dinner, monthly work luncheons, and office parties. I've hosted and organized events for people from 10 to 250. There are always going to be hiccups with SOMETHING at an event. First, CBD prepares for each event with such detail to avoid any type of blunder. Second, when there is a misstep, they go above and beyond to fix the problem -- even if the problem is not their responsibility. Third, food is flipping delicious. Fourth, service is always delivered with a smile. Matt, Sam. We love you.

Experienced this catering company at a wedding we attended. The passed appetizers were delicious and included: tuna tartare on wonton crisp, bacon wrapped date, veggie eggroll, crab cake, and tomato soup and grilled cheese shooters. My favorite was the crab cake, which was delicious and tasted of real shellfish despite being soft and not crispy on the outside.

For the plated meal, the breads came with an assortment of pretzel rolls and white rolls with herbed compound butter. The salad was very fresh with strawberries, goat cheese, red onion, walnuts, and spring mix. The maple salmon with orzo and balsamic veggie kabobs were good, but the standout option was the medium rare steak medallion- tender, Smoky, with a rich reduction and mashed potatoes as well as tender greens. Dessert was a mini sampler plate of various things and was good too. My one complaint was that they didn't serve everyone the wedding cake-- it took them an hour to cut it and not every table received it.
