Exquisite Caterers

Save yourself from a migraine and DO NOT use Exquisite Catering! There is not enough time or typing space to express in detail what a negative experience my husband and I had with Exquisite. The SparkNotes version is as follows. The owner, Howie, is a sheisty business man, period. Despite us signing a contract on an agreed upon amount per person 1 year prior to our April 2022 wedding, he tried to finagle more money out of us towards the very end so that he could make up additional costs related to inflation.

We did not give in. He also requested cash only payment to be given on the day of the wedding, which, in itself is shady. The entire night, he was rude to the wait-staff (which was provided by our venue) and ill-mannered towards our magnificent Coordinator. At one point in the night, while all guests were waiting 45 minutes for meals, I personally took the liberty of approaching Howie to air my grievances.

Especially being the bride, I would not normally let something like this interfere with my night, but the catering situation was that absurd and nothing like what we had signed a contract for. Howie was very defensive and told me that my expectations and timeline were unrealistic. This could not have been the case considering I got confirmation from Nicole, the coordinator we had been working with from Exquisite, that our reception timeline was perfectly fine.

The food at our wedding ended up being an extreme disappointment from start to finish. He snubbed us on cocktail hour, taking the liberty of replacing a handful of picked hors d'oeuvres (our meat options) to what he felt was beneficial to his pocket (less expensive, vegetarian options). Despite the promise of a plentiful and amazing cocktail hour, the passed hors d'oeuvres were scarce and not circulated accordingly and the tables of food were embarrassingly bare.

All 3 of the entree option's were less than appetizing. They were served 45 minutes later than what was planned and agreed upon. The meat came out bleeding and cold, the fish came out fishy and cold, and the butternut squash risotto came out looking and tasting like porridge. The dessert was sold to us as being an overwhelming number of chef-made sweets to be passed around the room.

We only saw 1/3 of what was promised to us, dessert cookies and cakes that you could have picked up from the local grocery store. Our food tasting was amazing, so we still can't understand how the food on our wedding day could have turned out the way it did. Overall, we truly feel that because we did not give into Howie's B.S of raising our per person prices, he sabotaged the catering. Nicole Lee was the only positive part of our Exquisite Catering experience, but even she could not save the catering disaster at our wedding. Thankfully we had a magnificent venue, the most amazing bar and bartending staff (provided by the venue), a fabulously talented band, and of course, the best guests in the world! FYI: Our venue coordinator shared with us "this is the worst caterer I've ever worked with" and "they will not be invited back here ever again"

Great Food, Exceptional Service! I had the pleasure of working with Exquisite this weekend at The Art Factory in Paterson, NJ. I'm an event planner and love when the service is to my standards. The guests were raving about their food, from cocktail hour to desserts it was all delicious!

This caterer is great. We used them for our children's Bar Mitzvah, which we were quite late in planning for. Because we were so late in starting the process, I was very worried about how things would turn out. From my first discussion with Howie I realized that we were in good hands and that all would be okay. He was extremely easy to work with.

In the end, our expectations were exceeded. As I look at the photos from the event, I am reminded of how beautiful the presentation was. All of the food was fabulous. And the staff were very professional. I normally find that when I am dealing a service I need to be closely monitoring things to ensure all is done right. With the staff from Exquisite I saw early on on the day that they had everything absolutely under control and they knew exactly what needed to be done to make the day go perfectly. I'm at a loss for anything to say about how it could have been better.

Fantastic food and service. We hired them for our wedding yesterday. We needed a kosher and gluten free reception and the result was a delicious choice of food, amazing presentation, and even food for us to take home for our day of packing before the honeymoon. Polite and professional service, beautiful and tasty food. Gluten free options - our experience with them was great! They also work with Krystina from Fancy Cakes bakery who provided us with a very beautiful and tasty gluten free red velvet cake. She even made it World of Warcraft themed.

Thanks so much to Exquisite Caterers and the amazing team of servers! You all contributed to the best day of our lives! We are thrilled with Exquisite Caterers and highly recommend their services! They provided appetizers, a buffet, and desserts for our wedding this past month. From day one the service was outstanding. They were very flexible and extremely responsive (over email and phone) and accommodated every one of our custom requests.

During our two walk-thru meetings they were super helpful and offered a lot of tips around the timeline and set-up. On the day of the wedding their servers went above and beyond for our guests and we got a lot of compliments about the staff. The food was AMAZING and we continue to hear about it from our guests. Every item on the buffet was delicious, especially the chicken and beef dishes, which so often get dried out and bland in such a quantity.

It felt more like the meals were prepared for a small dinner, not 150 people! They prepared a large variety of vegetables for our vegan and vegetarian guests, and their stuffed peppers were highly praised. I'm just sad I didn't get a chance to try everything! During our cocktail hour I tried one of the finger sandwiches (my wife's special request) and it was unbelievably good. Exquisite Caterers has an amazing pastry chef who made an assortment of two bite desserts and I was blown away by how perfect they were. A+

We used to exquisite caterers for our wedding! They were extremely accommodating, the food was great, the staff was very helpful. Our event went off without a hitch! We were very happy with the venue. We will post pictures once we get them for the photographer but the cocktail room and reception room were very elegant! We had a great experience and would highly recommend them!

These guys are simply unbelievable. They just catered our daughter's wedding. The food was not to be believed, people are still calling and telling us it was the most delicious food they've ever had at an affair. The abundence of different dishes at the cocktail was astounding. The Sesame Tuna, the short ribs, Romainaian steak, sliders, the caviar station, sushi bar, Chinese food station-each was amazing and delicious.

And the Baby lambchops-WOW! The most sumptuous piece of meat I have ever tasted-our guest were in awe. Dealing with Les and Marty is anabsolute pleasure. Thet treat you like family, their staff is friendly and efficient. They all made us so comfortable from the get go-true professionals. They knew what we wanted better than we did. And the main course was incredible. Mammoth prime ribs, soft as butter Chilaen Sea Bass, and the presentation was gorgeous. And, especially for Kosher food, their price were extremely reasonable. I can't recommend these guys highly enough. I will definitely be using them at my younger daughter's wedding as well.

This caterer is the worst most unprofessional caterer I have ever worked with. They did not deliver what they promised for the party at all. They actually dropped the engagement cake and we had no cake at all. They failed to have a sushi chef for the sushi station which was part of the contract. The food was presented very much like an amateur. They had no proper serving pieces.

They used regular cookie sheets at this very fancy party. The venue was the Monaco Hotel which lied to us and told us they had used this caterer many times. In fact they never used them before my party and they had no business recommending them. The Monaco said they were a fabulous professional caterer when they are not prepared to cater even a simple luncheon. The entire party was ruined by the incompetence of this horrible caterer. I would definitely never recommend them.

This past weekend i attended a friends wedding and it was the 3rd time ive attended an affair catered by exquisite. i worked in the catering business when i was younger and i must say, that they really know what theyre doing. some of the negative comments on here cant really be justified since people dont always know what is the responsibility of the caterer and what is the responsibility of the venue. for example, most times at off premises events the liquor and wait staff is provided and run by the venue, so if the liquor isnt up to par and the waitstaff isnt doing a good job you cant blame the caterer. i am a big fan of exquisite, and Howie & Dave really know what they're doing. i hope to use them soon for my families celebrations

David does an amazing job. He is there from start to finish to make sure everything is done to perfection. The food is delicious, room beautiful and service impeccable. Leave nothing to chance, call David for your next catered affair either at their site or yours.

My son's Bar Mitzvah was amazing. Howie and his crew made every aspect of the weekend elegant and full of life. From the Friday night dinner serving over 100 people, to the lunch serving over 500 people, to the party the next day serving 150 people. The food was out of this world and everyone had something positive to say. My favorite was the Skirt Steak. WOW!

The staff was there every step of the way, from filling water glasses, to serving on time, and cleaning up getting ready for the next step. What more can I say, except, thank you, Howie and your crew, for making it a most memorable weekend.

Exquisite just catered the celebration of our daughter's wedding this past weekend. As the hosts of the party, we didn't get the chance to sample much of the food- as we were busy with greeting guests and participating in the party. What little we did get to try was wonderful. But most important: we have heard nothing but RAVE reviews about the food.

Everyone had said that they thought the cocktail hour food was over the top delicious, and that things could not get better. Yet, we then heard from more than one person that the main course was "the best Kosher Chateaubriand that they had ever tasted." Dave: you are a wonderful chef. And Howie: you outdid yourself, you were a pleasure to work with, and you are a true mentsch to boot! (those of you who don't know what "mentsch" means- just look it up!). Thanks so much for helping to enhance our simcha and our party!

Attended a dinner dance catered by Exquisite recently. The liquor selection inadequate and did not meet expectations based on advertising for the event. The cocktail hour offerings were not bad, but not really good either. Dinner started off with a limp salad and progressed downhill from there. To top it off, the desert and coffee service was non-existent.

A few at our table were never served desert. Once we were finally served we got up to dance to a favorite song. When we returned to the table, the desert was gone and the table had been cleared. It was like I was back in New York where the staff at the Horn & Hardart Automat would clear your table if you got up for a fork except the prices were much lower there. Much improvement needed to rise to an acceptable level for food, drink and service.

Howie and his team just catered our wedding a few weeks ago, and everything was really terrific. We picked him largely because his prices are so reasonable (compared to the Philly market, at least), and we ended up getting tons of compliments on the food at the wedding. While we thought that the tasting was a little uneven - some dishes were really delicious, some not so much - we were able to pick a menu of the foods we really enjoyed, and all of it really exceeded our expectations.

I often think wedding food is pretty awful, and with a kosher caterer and a relatively modest budget, I really never would have predicted that the roast chicken at my wedding would be some of the best I'd ever eaten - which multiple guests told me as well - in addition to the guests who insisted that the salmon was even better. Most amazingly of all, two of my vegan guests held up their wiped-clean-to-the-last-drop plates of butternut squash risotto and told me they couldn't believe how delicious it was. A reasonably priced kosher caterer who can keep vegans happy? Amazing.

My first experienced with Exquisite catering when my friend got married. The catered food was well prepared, elegantly served and most importantly, it tasted great. Since then, I've been to numerous occasions, networking events and parties catered by Exquisite Catering and find them to be very consistent. There was even a dessert party that was really incredible. And, they had a variety of sweeteners for my tea at the end of the night. Great professional staff, great presentation and tasty food. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed working with Exquisite Caterers in handling our daughters wedding. They were phenomenal with communication and service throughout the entire wedding process. There have been an overflow of compliments by our guests regarding the food and the way it was prepared. Every need was catered to, and every promise was kept. I would absolutely work with them again.

I can not say enough fantastic things about this caterer. First, if you are looking for a Kosher Caterer in Central NJ, look no further. Our guests could not stop raving about the food! The variety was unreal, but also the service and how we as the hotels were truly pampered all night long! Dave and his team are true professionals! We never second guessed our decisions to have our daughter's Bat Mitzavah with Exquisite, and we are now saving our pennies for our twins Bnai Mitzvah in a few years. Truly one of the best nights of our lives and we were able to enjoy our night and let Dave at Exquiisite take care of everything. Well done Exquisite!

Have been to a number of events where Exquisite has catered. I think it's one of the best Kosher caterers in NJ. Food never disappoints!

I have know Exquisite Caterers for 10 years now. They have exceeded the quality of Kosher cuisine on all levels. Anyone planning a Bar/Bat Mitzvah or Wedding and needs Glatt or Kosher Catering should absolutely consider using Exquisite Caterers from Marlboro. They are flawless and I highly recommend them

I attended an event at exquisite's main venue at Marlboro Jewish center, and the place was absolutely beautiful. The cocktail room was astoundingly gorgeous, and the food was delicious. Staff was attentive and more than accommodating. I would definitely consider using exquisite for any upcoming event, I got a business card for my friend who is getting married soon and looking for a caterer

While waiting to be served we could have driven to NY, had a truly exquisite five star dinner, caught a show, gone out for drinks and been home in bed. If you're thinking of having these folks cater, warn your guests to bring snacks, drinks, survival gear and a pillow. Better yet, save yourself the time and order out. We're now two hours into dinner, the band has given up, and all we've seen is the first course.

The second course seems to be appearing one plate at a time, sporadically. I'm not sure if this is the first wedding they've catered, if the kitchen at the venue is not up to par, or what.but the fact that I'm writing a review at 11pm, having waited for over an hour for my second course should warn you away from these caterers.
