When one mentions Italian food, the first thing that comes to mind in Chicagoland is an old standard, Calabria Imports, formerly of Blue Island, but now nestled in the beautiful Beverly area of southwest Chicago. We have been serving the public since 1975, offering the finest quality and best tasting Italian foods at the lowest possible prices. The owner, Pasquale (Pat) Roberto, started with the company in 1988 and has been the sole owner since 1997. Our specialties are many, starting with the exceptional Italian and American deli meats and cheeses that are sliced to order.

Today was my first time there and it was not as good as I expected it to be. By it I mean the customer service the food was somewhat ok. We ordered a lot of stuff curbside pick up, I drove to pick it up went back home to discover my deserts wasn't in the bag, had to go back to get it. I also was displeased with my chicken gumbo, which may as well been okra soup, anyway I come back and let the waitress know that I would like another soup for my troubles, and she looked like why.
I had to say. FOR MY TROUBLES! She went back in came out with the soup looking came to my car like, next time we ask people to bring back the product, I'm like well next time get our orders right! So overall bad first experience

Had the occasion to call Calabria for the St. Patrick's Day special. The young lady informed me that it would be ready in twenty five minutes. Upon arrival the order was ready to go. This was an AWESOME feeling! To have the order ready upon arrival, that alone they get 5 's. The professional etiquette of the staff was a plus. The food was hot, good and tasty! Keep up the AWESOME WORK!

I moved to Beverly in the late 90's as a kid with my family and I used to run into Calabrias for the Ice Cream and junk food. Now some 25+ years later I still find myself ordering from the grill with my favorites being the double cheeseburger and crispy chicken sandwiches. A hand made double 1/4 pound burger with all the trimmings plus some of the best curly fries you can still find today for under $7 Calabrias is a Family owned staple in the community and through all the changes in the neighborhood they are still standing strong Thanks for all the wonderful service and fresh food! -Ryan Braswell
