Originally named the Circle K Steak Ranch and themed with western flair, this little steakhouse offered good food and drink paired with friendly customer service at modest prices. As the years passed the menu expanded and private party rooms were added to accommodate groups from 20 to 70 people. Today catering services are also offered to our valued customers.
Served with celery sticks, Ranch dressing, and sour cream. Crispy fried potato skins loaded with cheddar and Monterey jack cheese, bacon, and scallions. Served with sour cream. Chef's special recipe bisque, slow-simmered with lobster and shrimp stock, sherry, and cream. A fresh wedge of iceberg lettuce topped with diced tomato, red onion, bacon, and hard boiled egg.
Originally, our bar had eleven seats and was mainly a waiting area on busy evenings. Renovated in 2008, the horseshoe-shaped bar now seats 22, plus 5 high-top tables, and offers the westside a place to enjoy the evening sharing beverages, food, and fun! Our friendly staff will make you feel welcome and comfortable in our "Cheers" environment.
No matter the event: Wedding Rehearsal Dinners, Birthday & Anniversary Parties, Company Picnics, Golf & Bowling Banquets, Bridal & Baby Showers. Day or Night, Any Occasion - We will make it Special. Our Party Room is available day or night, seven days a week. It will accommodate from twenty to sixty people and we are flexible in assisting with the planning of various functions.

First time visiting Circle K. We were greeted promptly and seated in a busy restaurant. We got water while we decided on drinks. Waitress took our drink and food order at which time sides (hot slaw and vegetable of the day (zucchini, red onion, mushroom)) were delivered promptly after ordering. Soon after, our main dishes of half slab ribs and the Kentucky hot brown were then delivered.
Everything was delicious! Since we enjoyed our meals and wanted desserts, we decided to take the frozen key lime and carrot cake home. We will be back again to try the other items on the menu.

I am a regular customer of this business and tonight's experience was incredibly disappointing. I called in to place a carryout order and was placed on hold for 10 minutes and no one ever came back. I called back and asked to talk to the owner I must placed on hold for another 3 minutes. I explained to the owner my frustration with the wait time on the phone call and he never explained or acknowledged the problem.
I placed the order and picked it up 25 minutes later and it just so happens the owner checked me out and I knew he knew who I was because I have the same name and he never acknowledged the problem or apologized. Food was good as always but the service is just totally unacceptable you just can't place a customer on hold for 10 minutes and expect them to hold I guess I will find other options in my neighborhood sad

I hadn't eaten here for over 15 years, but I kept reading the good buzz about it on Chowhound Cincinnati, so we decided to go a little out of our way and dine here for dinner tonite, and boy, am I glad we did. I had a hankering for prime rib and heard that theirs is some of the best in the area. So I got the 16 oz cut (4 bux more than the 12 oz standard cut) plus a side salad with really good house dressing and their hot slaw (fantastic and you get more of it than at Lake Nina) Also got some sauteed mushrooms as an additional side and my choice of desserts (they had 6 desserts on the tray and I would have loved any of them) was the Italian wedding cake.
Everything was perfect--the food, the friendly, attentive and flawless service, and the ambiance was great. The owner Bev even stopped by to chat for a minute or two. She makes all the desserts, as it turns out, so she's quite talented. This seems like the kind of place that has a very loyal clientele that visit on a regular basis. As of tonite, they have 2 more loyal customers. We also joined the Royalty Rewards program tonite to save on future visits.

Oh my goodness took my mother for her 62nd birthday she got a full rack of ribs, I got the chicken and prime rib, my wife got the pork chop. I personally took a bite of each piece of meat each one was equally as amazing but the ribs. the ribs. were amazing! I cannot believe that I can call myself a westsider and it's taking me so long to come to this restaurant I cannot wait to come back and I regret that I've waited so long.
Also the service was phenomenal I usually don't leave reviews like this but the service was TRULEY phenomenal even after sitting down and looking around to the other customers and how the servers would seat the people and take their coats and be so kind and courteous to everyone that walked in no matter the circumstance.

A friend of ours said the place had great food, obviously they have never ordered the prime rib. Very bland. My wife and I both agreed that it was a bad choice. I asked for a baked potato as one of my sides, server asked if I wanted it loaded. I told her no, that just butter and sour cream would be fine. Then she said that they also had twice baked potatoes, that sounded good so I said yes.
She failed to mention that there would be a $2.49 upcharge. It was also a bad choice because it was loaded with pieces of onion. The upcharge was pocket change, it's the two time upsell that irked me. Our first visit will be our last visit.

Came from out of state on vacation and needed a place that was open late and didn't break the bank. Was more than happy after we left. Food was good, but what made the experience was the waitstaff. Normally I am one to just get my food and talk to our server when need be, but we all found ourselves just casually talking with her by the end of our meal. Made us feel like we were just over for a family meal. Really warm and welcoming environment. Will definitely be back if ever in the area.

Kennings has been around forever and it probably looks exactly the same inside as it did decades ago but it makes for a great nostalgic ambiance. They have a very extensive menu and everything that we had was really good. Not Jeff Ruby's quality but nowhere near those prices either! Service was friendly and great and we'll definitely go back!

My husband & l had dinner there where is so far from the end of east side where we live. However, we were satisfied the food that we ordered the 10 oz rib eye steak. They served the fresh spinach salad with mesh potatoes. The steak was very tender & great taste. It seemed very popular neighbor restaurant that when we visited at around 5:00pm on Saturday, already no seats.

Not as expected! The lobster bisque had not a single thread of lobster. The flavor was good, but way to thin for bisque. They should call it lobster broth. The hot slaw was shredded so finely, and served so hot that the cabbage was actually cooked. The chicken cordon bleu was ok but the accompanying mashed potatoes were instant and drowned in a bad dark brown canned gravy.

Delicious food and some of the friendliest staff in town. My boyfriend and I decided to eat there for our anniversary dinner and attempted to call ahead for a reservation (it was a Friday night). The person on the phone said we should be fine for 2 people at 6 and there was no need to make a reservation. We arrived at 6 to a packed house! (Shows how popular this place is).
They didn't have a table for us so we had to wait around 30 minutes for one to open up. The food was great as always but that would be my only thing- if you allow reservations, take them down even if it isn't predicted to be a busy night.

My husband and I ate at kennings for the first time in 16 years last night. We had not eaten here because the very old clientele put me off. I wanted to give them another chance because they have recently redone their bar and I saw that they offered liver and onions on their menu. That is a dish that my mother used to make and it is hard to find at any restaurant around Cincinnati.
The interior of the restaurant is a little dated but looks clean. Our server was polite but never introduced herself. My husband ordered the sauerbraten and of course I ordered the liver and onions. He enjoyed his dinner very much. I asked our server if my liver came with gravy and she said yes but when my order came the only gravy was on the mashed potatoes and was a strange brown artificial flavor.
I requested a side of gravy which took a while to get to our table. The liver was cooked perfectly which is a rarity in most places that serve liver and onion. I also asked for a glass of wine with my dinner and had to repeat my request a second time. It would have been nice to enjoy wine with my dinner instead of after dinner. The kicker to this whole experience is that there was a power outage and we had to eat our dinner in the dark.
We only had the small candle on our table and I could barely see to cut my food. My husband had to shine his phone on my plate so that I could see what I was doing. I can understand service suffering in such a catastrophic instance but I was disappointed when our bill came and there was no adjustment made for our inconvenience. I did tell our server that the owner should at least have offered a complimentary cocktail. We did not sign up for a pitch black dinner experience.

They have good ribs, however if you're going to order carry out - you need to not leave this restaurant until you are handed extra containers of BBQ sauce. Do not just ask for extra and assume you'll get it - We have been ordering from here for years and always leaving with $100+ orders and they are highly stingy on the bbq sauce. The ribs are served with little to no sauce and you're given about equivalent to 2 ketchup packets worth.

We had a great Easter dinner at Kinnings! Had a reservation for a group and all was ready on time with no waiting. Ribs and Steaks were fantastic. Can't wait to head back for the prime rib as it looked great too. Great service and food made our evening out memorable. Highly recommended family dinner destination!

I had to drag my wife to a Kennings as she has never heard of the place. (Not from the westside) I had the craving for some Prime Rib. Kennings did not disappoint. Very rare and tender.delicious. I had the hot slaw as my side and wanted more. It's fare to say we were the youngest in the crowd, however the bud light was cold and service was great. that's all the mattered to me. If your looking for something different from the normal westside chain with good old home style food, give them a try.

Kennings is truly a west side gem. I've been here just a handful of times over the years but every time it has been excellent. I'll also say that anybody I've visited here with has loved it as well. There is a comfortable feel to the place and the service is friendly. Yes, the place is a bit outdated and they do cater to an older crowd but this is part of what makes this place so quaint.
The food here is really excellent. I love that they have a basket of crackers & breadsticks on every table. Tonight was Italian night with lasagna and spaghetti & meatballs for the specials. I opted instead for a combo of ribs and crab cakes. I started with their hot slaw which is soooo good. When the ribs & crab cakes arrived my initial thought was that the portion of ribs seemed small but it really was almost too much.
They are really good ribs and the sauce has a bit of heat to it. The crab cakes were very dense and flavorful. Tonight's dinner convinced me to add this place to my dining out rotation.

I'm so glad to be writing this review. I've never been to Bridgetown before and I live on the West Side! It was a neat little place reminiscent of a "Hall" but the staff were super sweet and super honest about what they thought was good and not so good on the menu. I had a Hot Brown on Texas toast after a few of my local friend recommended it.
Its the first time I've ever seen it on a menu and honestly it was just a turkey sandwich covered in cheese? I think I want to try it on the mash potatoes next time. With that said it was still pretty good. We also tried the half slab of ribs. Very tender and smoky. I still smelled like smoke when I left the place. The frozen alcoholic beverages were amazing.
Especially the Creamsicle. There's an entire menu just for frozen drinks! They also have a rewards membership which was unexpected that was free to sign up for. I guess I'm just waiting to see what the perks are but it sounds pretty legit. It was empty when I went (right before closing) but I kind of liked it that way.ya know? Not so humbly submitted, King Michael C.

DH and I visited Kenning's last week. It was my first time going and he swore by it as a lifelong westsider though he hadn't gone in years. The decor is dated but clean, and the clientele skews older. But the food definitely did not disappoint. DH had prime rib and ribs, loved both. I had ribs and crab cakes. Crab cakes were great, so were the cottage fries.
All taste house made. The ribs were awesome, absolutely awesome. They were cooked well - tender with a little smokiness, and with a great sauce too. Best I've had in more than a decade living in Cincinnati. Service was friendly and quick. No complaints, will definitely be back, especially for the ribs!

Yes, this place is a little outdated. Yes, we're way under age to be eating there. We don't love hot slaw or manhattens. But, I love the food. It's just really delicious, homemade and you can tell that the owner cares (which is rare!) My husband and I eat at trendy restaurants but we really love coming to Kennings to just get simple, non-pretentious food. Kennings delivers just that.
A must eat - Their scallops are amazing! And, call me old school, but I love the addition of the long hard breadsticks at each table. Kind of a throw back to the 70's - i like it.
