I ordered the grilled chicken salad. It was pretty expensive for just plain lettuce, cherry tomatoes and plain unseasoned chicken. But the okra was good, biscuits are way better then the cornbread, fried pickles were good and the fried mushrooms. Gravy needs a little work. I like how the kids meal is free if you order a adult entree. The alligator was great too.
Those stuffed potatoes are really good. The place is nice and the atmosphere of the live music and feeling like you're eating in your grandma's living room is nice too. Would recommend but expect to drop some money.

This is some of the best homestyle food in San Antonio. This is Cajun food with some down home cooking but with a spice level for most people's palate. Been in business for 30+years! Order takeout or dine in and enjoy something special and unique. The staff was friendly, restaurant was clean and prices were not too bad. Fruit punch for kids/adults is a must! Catfish is topnotch! Many items to choose from but recommend a sample platter if you can't decide.

This is probably the best canjun restaurant I've been to in a while. The food was very tasty and brought to me fresh and hot. I had the canjun sampler that comes with gumbo, crawfish etoufette, jambalaya, and red beans with rice. I also had the bread pudding for dessert. The wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and gave great suggestions for our table. I have to suggest the lemonade. You can taste the fresh squeezed lemons. Can't wait to come back and enjoy this place again

I had a root canal today and was in the mood for chicken and dumplings. We called ahead for a pick-up. Ordering was easy, and when we arrived they had a lane for to-go orders. The service was super quick and easy. The servers were friendly. The food was exactly what we wanted. 4 stars because they didn't have the frozen to-go drinks we would have liked at the time.

Authentic Cajun Fare! I have a lot of cajun friends & have had many home cooked Cajun meals and Acadian Cafe is as homemade as my cajun friends prepare! The coating for the fried catfish & shrimp is so light, crispy & coating adheres to the fish! The home cooked sided are yummy good for the soul southern style! Very personable & attentive staff! I give 10 stars to Acadian Cafe!

If you are looking for some real, down-home CAJUN dishes, this is the spot. We tried the jambalaya, crawfish etouffee, red beans and rice, and the gumbo. It was all very well done! One kiddo had a shrimp boil and the other had fried catfish- both were good! Service was wonderful as well, and I have some peach cobbler in a box just waiting for me. We will definitely be back whenever we are in the area.

Not sure if the portion size was correct but my husband went inside today to get an order of alligator and came back to the car in less than 10 minutes with a regular size to go box and told me to try a piece. I then opened the box to find it about 1/4th of the way full. Was extremely disappointed bc I could literally pick all of it up with one hand. Won't return.

This place here is a hidden gem! The staff is awesome, the ambience is profound and the food. well let's just say I ordered food to go so I could have more tomorrow. I popped in on a quiet night and a band came in and played beautiful music. If there were more than five stars, Acadian deserves every last one.

Food was delicious but the portion sizes felt pretty small. Although food came out quick enough, service was very subpar. I was a party of one by myself. Food - chicken fried steak with gravy on the side, fries, chicken and dumplings, crawfish etouffee, and a biscuit. Aside from serving/portion sizes, the food was great. Service - a few minutes after I was seated, a lady took my drink order but I also told her that I was ready to order my meal off the menu.
She took my order and came back with my water. When my food was ready, some male waiter brought out my order but forgot the etouffee and honey for my biscuit (note: I never got the honey). He refilled my water once, which is fine. I was in the mood for dessert and wanted to try the bread pudding. But I gradually realized that the receipt was laying on the table, probably by the guy who refilled my water and brought my food.
The receipt had the male waiter's name on it even though he never really took my order and barely served me nor did he even introduce himself. I still tipped him 25% but moreso for my own dignity. I was looking forward to the bread pudding too but whatever. I would still come back and order something else since the food was good. Hopefully service is better. 4 stars for the food 0 for the service

I would have given 4.5 out of 5 if we didn't realize after the fact that a basic 2 protein combo was $22.30 A POP. The only place that I can think of charging that amount for catfish and shrimp would be Pappadeaux, honestly. So besides of being shocked about our $65 buck lunch, I would recommend other items. Their sides are pretty good, and they offer a country platter for 10 bucks that you can choose 4 sides and a bread choice.
Their sweet tea was delicious, made southern and perfect. Service was pretty good. They had great high chairs, which is rare because usually restaurants have gross, broken wooden ones. I highly recommend their Cajun nachos, those were delicious! But do not get the combo plates, they're way overpriced for a basic meal. It is not worth the cost.

It has an OK taste but the fish pieces itself at this location are not good it has hard pieces, hard to chew. Very small /skinny. I came back for the taste tbh but it's the quality of the meat itself. They are increasing prices and that's no good. I can say this is the last time I will be stopping By. The peach cobbler is horrible more like cake.

The food here is made from scratch, the food was delicious! We went around 4:30 pm it was pretty empty when we got there by the by the time we left at close to six there was a line out the door! The prices are affordable not to high, our waitress was attentive and friendly if your looking for great sea food like catfish this is the place, they have great sea food here, they also have good tender strips, mash potatoes and green beans and biscuits and corn bread and mud pie, and warm peach cobbler with ice cream, are you hungry yet? They also have alligator strips.

So I love Cajun food and I remember going here all the time in high school! It hasn't changed much in the past 6-7 years, and is mostly like I remember. The decor is really nice. The heavily decorated wood interior makes you feel like you're at a lodge or something more than in the city. It's usually not too busy but expect a short wait if you don't have a reservation.
Food wise, everything is good but the day we went I felt it was a bit less spicy than it could have been. I personally like more kick/cayenne in my Cajun food and this was more on the rich/buttery side. Not to say it was bland, it was still flavorful. The crawfish etouffee was really tasty as was the jambalaya, but the catfish was the star for me.
Definitely a great comfort meal. Cobbler and bread pudding were also good as far as dessert goes. If you're in the mood I'd get them! Servers were very attentive but they also seemed very busy. They got everything out quickly though, and didn't mess up any orders so that's good. Also gave refills on drinks without needing to be asked, which is always nice. Honestly it would be 5 stars if the etouffee/jambalaya were a bit spicier for me

I hadn't been here since 2003 and the decor hadn't changed much. That old timey vibe goes well with the Louisiana lake house type theme. Our server was very curt and not overly attentive but provided us with ice water refills consistently. We got Cajun sampler that came with etoufe, gumbo, jambalaya, and red beans & rice with a choice of hush puppies/corn bread, or biscuit.
I would recommend this platter to anyone who wants to try out these Cajun dishes or just to see what Acadians has to offer. The crawfish etoufe and jambalaya were amazingly delicious with rich traditional flavors. The gumbo and red beans were also worthy of another taste as well & for $9! That was a no brainer for our first time bad after awhile but next time I want some a bowl of the etoufe with catfish. You can't beat what you get for the price!

We keep coming here for the catfish. The menu is broader and Cajun here and there, but we can't stop ordering the catfish! The portions of fish are very generous, very crispy, very hot, and well-seasoned with cornmeal and other delicious things. It's often hard to get the salt right with fried catfish, but these folks have mastered it. We have gotten take out and dined in; service is good, and we can also give two thumbs up on the fried okra and hush puppies. We try catfish elsewhere in SATX and keep coming back to Acadiana!

This is THE place to eat when you're in San Antonio to fulfill your Cajun or seafood cravings! Dining here is an amazing experience, ranging from their perfectly spiced dishes to their friendly, attentive staff. I've been here countless of times and will always be back! Even with the extra COVID-19 precautions. This last time, Jasmyne was our server and she was delightful and on top of her game!
She gave us the low-down on the changes since COVID-19 and ensured we enjoyed our meal as if the pandemic didn't even exist! We got the Crawfish Etouffee, Seafood Gumbo, and Fried Catfish Filets which came with lots sides! The sides we got were Cornbread, Hushpuppies, Cajun Cabbage, Stuffed Potato, and Corn on a Cob! Let me tell you! Everything was amazing.
The Crawfish Etouffee is one of my personal favorites here. They don't skimp on the crawfish + Fixin's and the taste is so homey and well-balanced. The Catfish was hot and perfectly cooked; crispy on the outside and soft tender inside. Yummm. And the Gumbo? Stuffed with seafood to the rim. They don't hold nothing back here! If it's your first time dining here, definitely try the Cajun Sampler as it features the Crawfish Etoufee, Gumbo, Jambalaya, and Red Beans and Rice!
If you're a fan of crawfish as much as I am, Acadiana has a Crawfish boil (when it's in season) and I will literally just order that as my meal. Thanks y'all for being open. I'll be back again and again :)

This one of my favorite places in San Antonio. My family, including my grandpa who celebrated his 101st birthday there in 2000! My Mom was 1/2 Cajun. So she absolutely loves this place. The last time I took her there was a year before she passed away in 2016. Each time my daughter visits from Europe, we go at least 2x, her fiance loves the food too.
We get their crayfish by the pound & love it. Their biscuits are phenomenal. I've never had a bad meal there. The owner, Dave, is always there when we go. He always stops by to say hello to most of his guests. He checks to see if you're happy with your meal. I take my Cajun friends here anytime they come into town & they leave raving about the authenticity of the food.
My Moms favorite was the sampler, or chicken & dumplings with a yummy biscuit & honey. Even when she could no longer go in, I'd stop by for a to-go meal for her. Oh, & they make some of the best iced tea in town. Go in. Order anything from the menu. You won't be disappointed.

I've been hearing about this place for sometime now & and boy am I happy I stopped by today! Being that we're going through COVID-19 the dining room was open but I did not feel comfortable going inside. They had two lines for curbside one for already ordered & the other orders to be placed. When we pulled up there was one car ahead of us.
It did not take long for the server to address us! She brought us the menus and my hubby and I ordered from the luncheon menu. He order the sampler which came with I believe red rice and beans, crawfish and gumbo with cornbread. I ordered white fish, shrimp, chkn & Dumplins and hush puppies. I can honestly say the food was very good! I mean it was so good i forgot to take a picture of it.
The only thing I did not like was the portion size. maybe it was a little skimp because it was the lunch menu. But honestly you can't beat the price! I can't wait to go back! Keep up the good work.

To me, Acadiana is basically like a second home. I've been coming here with my family since I was a little kid and have a lot of fond memories of birthdays, reunions, and celebrations past! The interior is warm and welcoming, and I stand by my lifelong claim that they have the best restrooms in all the land! Talk about ultimate privacy (you'll have to pay them a visit to see what I'm talking about)!
Parking and seating are always available (even on the busiest of days). The restaurant is HUGE. You could probably do two laps around the joint and get all your steps in for a day. As for parking, there's a manned lookout post that towers over the lot to ensure no tomfoolery happens to your vehicle while you're dining. A nice touch! Everything I've eaten here has been pretty choice, but my favorite dish is the boiled shrimp with corn and potatoes.
The boil is covered in Cajun spices and served with a green onion that rounds out the flavors really nicely. Be sure to ask for melted butter for dipping (it doesn't automatically come with it but it's totally worth it). Close runners-up include the catfish, stuffed potatoes, and biscuits with honey. You can't go wrong with any of these items. If you want a delicious meal in a casual yet inviting environment, you definitely want to hit up Acadiana. It's a fun place with a lot of heart!
