Crumpet's Restaurant & Bakery

Well this place has a great atmosphere and very nice scenery with an outside creek and lit up trees but, my first and so far my only visit was rocky. The garlic bread looked great but unfortunately there was a small hair with it. The staff quickly changed it and apologized profusely. I ordered a stuff chicken plate but also, unfortunately, the cook did not remove the plastic steam bag from the chicken before laying on the marinara and cheeses.

I found it whilst cutting it in half. Management took care of it and gave me our meals for free. I understand, mistakes do happen, but not at a restaurant that is pretty pricey. I may go again for another try but for now, I am reluctant.

Great atmosphere and great service. I had the beef Wellington which was very good. My wife started off with the trout but was not her liking so got switched to the Sicily chicken and it was mouthwatering good. Salad was great with housenade dressing. Glad we finally got to try this place before they close for good. Thanks.

I love beef Wellington and this is the only place my wife could find it. So for father's day she bought us two orders of beef Wellington for $71 which isn't surprising for a good Wellington. However. this was the worst, most disgusting beef Wellington I've ever tasted. My wife cried because she wanted to surprise me and was so disappointed. I attached a picture so u can see the meat and the blob of dough that is supposed to be covering the "tender" meat.

As soon as u cut in the dough falls off mostly due to the fact that they put the sauce ON the meat instead of on the side for dipping or drizzling. This made the whole dish so soggy but that still doesn't explain the tough, bland meat. I'm sorry to rant but this damn near ruined my wife's day, that's how horrendous this OVER PRICED "beef Wellington" was.

The food was great, way better than I expected. The decor is dated you almost feel like you're an old folks restaurant. Service was good. We had the trilogy, a couple glasses of wine and the bread was really good. The food was great.

Only reason why im giving 3 stars is because the staff was very nice. I went to eat there with a friend of mine upon arrival the restaurant is nice and calm, no one was there so it was not busy at all. We were sat down and ordered. I had a couple hairs in my food which prompted me to send the food back as it was like a 20$ plate. My friend enjoyed there meal and I got the new plate to go. 3 stars for sure for good service, but prices are very high for an experience that you can make yourself at home.

This place has potential, however I feel like it is stuck in the 90's. The food is good and the outside ambience is beautiful. Modernize the menu and interior and it will be back to the ritz, as it once was.

I had dinner here a few weeks ago and am reminded of why I fell in love with this place twenty years ago. I've sampled every dish made at this restaurant, and each one has its own flavor and take I have never tasted at any other restaurant. This is all the more impressive as I have eaten at restaurants all across the US, from Florida to Hawaii. The steaks are juicy and tender and the fish is light and fluffy.

Each and every sauce and dressing is made in house from scratch, and you can taste it. I always save room for dessert, as the chantilly cakes and creme brulee are exquisite. When the weather is nice, I always choose to sit on the back patio. Such a lovely location inside the city. I highly recommend this restaurant.

A perfect place for a very romantic evening. This is by far the best restaurant in our area and maybe in San Antonio, the food and service above excellent, it is a pleasant and calm restaurant, you do not feel rushed and it is not noisy, the decor is charming, and the patio is like been in a beautiful forest. We only have had great dinners and lunches at reasonable prices. the wine list witch has lots of choices, is priced at probably 30% bellow other restaurant We went back the last week and Crumpets is still has great as always, and the prices are very reasonable. 3 years later and it still as good as before

Thanksgiving at Crumpets. What a disappointment, first you should not have to wait for a table when you have a reservation, OK maybe a couple of minutes but not twenty especially when you are looking at the empty fully serviced table you will finally be taken to. Finally seated our waitress was fine and very attentive brought our drinks took our orders. Sadly it went downhill from there, the menu stated all entrees served with app, salad, bread & dessert.

We ordered turkey and ham for our entree, puff pastry with wine and mushroom sauce for an app, apps come out, tough day old pastry with i suspect Heinz jarred mushroom gravy & extra salt. Then our salad not bad but it's salad come on, entree time, 5 diners at our table 4 diners served five minutes later number 5 was served. turkey (cool & dry), ham (1 very thin deli shaved slice) also cold, huge pile of green beans ( bland) 2 teaspoons of stuffing, that's it no mashed potatoes, no gravy, no bread, NO BREAD it's a bakery (supposedly).

Now our waitress is no where in sight, we finish our sadly over priced meal & sit & wait & wait until finally a girl seemingly about 14 years old comes up to our table & asked if we are OK we reply that we are finished & would like to see our bill & one person asks about dessert, the waitress shows up says sorry, what do you want for dessert.we decline dessert and ask to leave, she produces our $185.00 bill and we pay & tip fairly well ($40), on the way out she comes up with a boxed pie & states here's your dessert. (we left it sitting on a bench outside).

I had always heard very good things & how upscale this farce of a European dining establishment was. what a sad disappointment. will never spend another cent there & will let everyone who asks know the truth.

I've been to Crumpets a few times now. It's always a wonderful experience. I've ordered something new off the menu every time and I'm always impressed with the quality of the food. The wait staff is superb. Steven has waited on me several times and is just phenomenal. I highly recommend this restaurant.
