Carolina Barbecue Carolina BBQ serves juicy Lexington-style pork barbecue, ribs, chicken, turkey, and beef brisket. We hickory-smoke our barbecue for 14-16 hours. Then, we use our special dip, resulting in tender, juicy barbecue with a mouth-watering aroma. We have graciously served our customers in the same location for over thirty-eight years! We still use our famous, made-from-scratch recipes that were developed all those years ago (with just a little fine-tuning along the way)! Our food is delicious, our service is fast and friendly (perfect for that short lunch break), and our prices are very reasonable!

We were looking to serve our 20-30 person maintenance and office staff with Bar B Que and Carolina Bar B Que met our criteria. The pulled pork with a fresh bun as a sandwich was absolutely delicious, the Cole slaw was a perfect blend of vegetables and dressing and the baked beans was a great option to fill our tummies.

Did a Google search for the best BBQ in South Carolina. This place popped up for the area. Google lied, this place was not good at all. Brisket dried out and no smoke flavor. Ribs were good, stick with those. Got the baked beans and red slaw. Ate all the sides and bought all three sauces to use at home. Will not be returning. I do not recommend this establishment.

A hole in the wall, but definitely worth the stop. Never disappointed. And the service is always as good as the food.

Tried the half barbecue chicken plate. Excellent! Priced reasonably, and served quickly. We've eaten here from time to time for years. It's always good. Hope to return again soon!

This is my go-to place every time I'm in Spartanburg and I want some great Carolina style barbecue. They have great sides as well!

Wonderful food and great service. Could not have asked for anything better. The food was delicious and the ribs are the best I've had in a long time. They also have some wonderful chicken that's cooked differently but tasted wonderful. I want to thank everyone at Carolina Barbecue for some wonderful service and great food fixed right.

The food was tasty, just average BBQ to me, but I was drawn in by the review of Southern Living calling it The Best and the big banners outside the restaurant. I tried the 2 meat plate and chose the beef brisket and pulled pork. I found the pulled pork a little fatty. The brisket was ok. Small 4 inch strips, small amounts for a 17.99 plate. We tried several sauces which were good, including mustard sauce, and a Cheerwine sauce, sweet and mild.

For sides I chose; baked beans, coleslaw, and three hush puppies. For desert, a small bowl of banana pudding was yummy. My husband had 1/4 roasted bbq chicken, Mac-n cheese & fried okra. We came by on a Wednesday afternoon around five. Three other people came in before we left. Faded and worn decor reveal it was quite nice about 40 years ago, it's situated next to a BP gas station and beside a tax preparer tucked into a short strip mall.

The onion rings and hushpuppies were good but it stops there. I ordered food for my family and had it delivered. There was tough white gristle all in the meat. I spit out 5 and I ended up having to take the sandwich from my toddler out of choking fear because of it. I understand that gristle can happen in meat, but there shouldn't be that much present!

My favorite spot for barbeque in the area and so far they knock out the competition in taste and price. One of my litmus tests when it comes to bbq if that it should taste wonderful without a single thing on it. Too often there is too high an emphasis on the sauce it's bathed in after. This surpasses that test. The sauce options are varied enough to appease any lover bases, be it ketchup, mustard or vinegar.

Nothing out of this world here, except for the peach cobbler that was the "cook's choice" for the day. Excellent chopped pork. Bbq chicken was good, not great - a little overdone and dried out. Would go back to try the ribs and brisket, as it looked good on the plates of other diners.

The BBQ is really good, but it could be warmer. The sides are very good. Love the mac-n-cheese, onion rings and hush puppies. I wish they'd bring the condiments out before the food. We've been going here on and off for years, even since they had the location on the Westside. As most places these days, you have to be patient with the staff, but the food does not disappoint.

Stopped in the other night. Meat was ok but they rationed me on the amount like it was made out of gold. The bun was cold and asked for double fries did not happen and they were cold.been better of going to qt for a hot dog and chips

Great BBQ and sides. Service was really good and even though I was alone the server took care of me like I was about to drop a 100 bucks. Will be back.

Went driving around and came across this small place. Didn't know what to really expect, but my husband and myself were hungry. Ordered fried squash, BBQ ribs, beef brisket, and some pulled pork. Meal came with hush puppies, which was a first for us. Food was very good. Meats were tender and tasty. Hush puppies and fried squash were cooked to perfection.

Dining area was clean and waitress was very attentive. One last note, the lemonade was delicious and we got a free refill. Thank you Carolina Barbecue for a very satisfying meal

This restaurant has a small hometown feel. Great food! I order from here pretty often. The sweet potato crunch was my fav before they permanently stop selling it. Hopefully It will return on the menu soon. Overall great restaurant if you're looking for a good barbecue

The best bbq pulled pork I've ever had. The ribs were also the best. Even my husband sheepishly admitted this was a little better than Lexington bbq. Unfortunately, like most great bbq places, this too also suffers from the curse of bad side dishes. The peach parfait was a crime against humanity. 5 star for the meats though.

Recently named "Best BBQ joint" in Spartanburg, I can totally see why! Ashley's (our waitress) southern hospitality mixed with her incredible recommendations didn't disappoint! This is definitely a hidden gem! You won't be disappointed!

The ribs were great, tender and well smoked with a beautiful reddish color indicating Deep smoke penetration. Carolina mustard sauce ok. Baked beans with apple flavor NG. Green beans without any hint of salt.or flavor.but bacon cooked in. mehhhh. Fried squash no salt.ok. People were great and friendly atmosphere was interesting with funny little sayings on signs and pictures and such. Restrooms were clean and tidy. Felt safe enough. Most clientele were carry out. A good stop with a gas station next door.

Typical little BBQ place, but of the VERY highest quality. Food is great, staff stellar, & best/worst thing is it's 5 minutes from the house!

This is a nice BBQ place that offers great food at a great price. It has a nice atmosphere too. The plates include 6 Ounces of meat, 2 sides and hush puppies. We really enjoy coming to this place for BBQ. It's one of our go to places for a nice BBQ lunch.

This is one of my favorite BBQ joints. It's a 45 minute drive from home but worth it. They have the best fried squash you'll find and their bbq is always fresh. I've never taken a photo because I'm too busy chowing down on the food. Over the years I've ordered about everything on the menu but my go to is always the pulled pork and ribs. Best around and worth the travel time. I always call ahead and get a rack of ribs to go. Their sides are all good but I'm just stuck on the fried squash.

The side dishes were delicious, as were the ribs, but I've had better brisket and pork in the state of SC. BBQ slaw is a must-try, my whole family loved it, even the ones who hate classic coleslaw.

One of the best BBQ places that we have tasted and for the record, I prefer Texas style BBQ to the Carolinas style but this place changed our minds. The ribs are the best I have eaten in the south and the beef brisket are so soft and melts in your mouth coz they have been cooked for 12 hours.

We were on our back from Charlotte and came across this spot after searching on Yelp. Well, when we arrived the parking lot was empty however the service was filled with kindness. From the moment we entered the hostess greeted us with a smile and showed us to our seat. The place is good size and they wasn't a wait to be seated. We looked over the menu and decided on a half rack with brunswick stew and fried okra to split.

The ribs were okay and the stew lack some seasoning but the fried okra was a hit. We will probably pass on returning but the customer was friendly and staff had on masks. One lady tried to enter without a mask as was politely asked to step outside and order. That was refreshing with all the backlash going on.

Needed dinner on the way back to Atlanta from Charlotte. From my understanding, if you're in Carolina, you don't leave without having barbecue. The ladies working were very friendly but stern enough to check a lady who didn't want to wear her face mask to pick up a take out order. They washed their hands repeatedly and enforced the 6ft mandate with seating.

Now for the food. The ribs are outstanding. Flavorful, tender, smoky. Just what you'd expect from a rib. I'm not a huge fan of Carolina mustard bbq sauce so I opted out. Besides, the ribs can hold their own. For sides, I ordered fried okra and brunswick stew. You can't really mess up fried okra unless you overcook it but these were cooked perfectly.

The stew was hearty. I must say that I prefer mine with more smoky bbq flavor as opposed to the tomato-y flavor here. That said, I added some bbq sauce and their house made hot sauce to it and it perked right up. Not a bad pit stop if you're in the area.

I would of gone with 3.5 if that was available. This is a little hole in the wall local restaurant. That's what we were looking for so in that respect it was great. It was not too crowded on a Friday evening at around 5. Our service was fine. We both ordered ribs. The ribs were meaty but they were not fall off the bone tender. Getting them off the bone with our plastic utensils proved to be a bit challenging.

We both ended up with faces full of BBQ sauce. The baked beans were seasoned with maybe cinnamon? Not really appealing to my palate. We opted for the coleslaw that was seasoned with vinegar. It was OK. The hush puppies were actually the star of the plate. Were they the best hush puppies I had ever tasted? Probably not. But they were adequate. If we are ever in this part of SC again maybe we will stop by again and thy the pulled pork.
