Ordered from here for the first time tonight and the food was amazing! Everything tasted homemade and was fresh. We'll definitely be ordering from here again. The arancini are a must try and are some of the best I've had outside of Sicily. Update: Two years later and this is still our favorite spot. We had family over for pizza last night and they were impressed with how good everything was. Thank you La Grova for making food with love!

Delicious! I usually order from two local restaurants but wanted to try something different tonight. Happy I decided on La Grova - the food is amazing! I ordered for myself the Linguine with White Clam Sauce - it is absolutely delicious. Seasoned perfectly. We also ordered a regular pie which was delicious- love their sauce! We got the mozzarella sticks & mozzarella in carrozza which were fantastic as well.
My husband and son enjoyed their calzones and my daughter really liked her penne alla vodka - she's usually not a fan of prosciutto but she said it tastes delicious in La Grova's Penne Alla Vodka. We will be repeat customers for sure!

"La Grova" is a family run restaurant and pizzeria. It has ample parking and the restaurant side is spacious, although, the tables lack any sort of shields. My wife and I stopped in to have a quick bite. Our waiter was the owner and his banter added to the ambiance. It was through him that we found out that the sweets were made on premises. Speaking of, you must try the ricotta cheese cake!
I ordered the gnocchi bolognese, that came with a house salad. My wife ordered the baby clams with spaghetti, which also came with a salad. While my wife was able to finish her dish, I could not, for the life of me, finish mine! It was just too much! My wife ordered Italian espresso that the owner brought out in an old fashion espresso pot. There was enough coffee in that little pot for three espresso cups. Combined with the home made ricotta cheese cake, I thought I was going to roll out the door. BYW, the gnocchi were home made as well.
The house Malbec was very good as was the Moscato. The Takeaways: 1. Good parking 2. Nice size restaurant for a mom pop place. 3. Excellent service 4. Fantastic price to food ratio 5. Great Italian cheese cake 6. Excellent espresso made the old fashioned way. Highly recommend the place.

We recently moved to the area and were in need of a local Italian/Pizza spot. We have ordered numerous lunches and dinners from La Grova over the past three months and they have all been excellent. They are consistent each time, their pizza is amazing, and the service is fantastic. We've spoken with the owner a few times while placing orders, and he truly understands how to treat customers. So happy to live so close by and to have found La Grova!

Incredible customer service. On a Friday night, I placed an order online (using Google) and asked if a possible substitution could be made. Carmine called in moments after the order was placed and politely said that it wasn't possible. OK, no worries. The following day, I received another call from Carmine who further explained why my request was not feasible at the time due to how busy the restaurant was, but said that in the future if we called early, he would try to make the food the way I asked.
He had obviously been thinking about it, and for him to take the time to follow up shows how he cares about his customers. I am blown away by this level of customer service. We've ordered from La Grova before, and love the food, but this has cemented my views that they are the best casual Italian food and pizza restaurant in the area. Thank you Carmine!

Was craving Italian after 4 weeks without anything but home cooking in the midst of Corona hell. This place delivered and satisfied every craving! They couldn't be more nice when we called for delivery. All the food was great and could feed twice as many as what we ordered for. We're looking forward too all the leftovers for lunch and dinner over the next couple of days.
I Highly recommend the zucchini sticks. They packaged them open on a paper bag so they arrived still hot and crispy. We were so afraid of getting them soggy. The baked stuffed clams came with plenty of slurpy garlic sauce to dip the garlic knots into. Chicken parm, chicken Frances were delicious! We opted for the sides to be a Caesar salad and that in itself was a meal.
The baked ravioli and rigatoni with ricotta sauce and cheese were great and beyond super filling. We also ordered a calzone with broccoli and it was perfect with lots of sauce on the side to dip into. Thank you for being open and for delivering! Wishing you the best and hoping you come out stronger when we get through this.

My review is based on take-out/delivery only. I've never been to the restaurant so I have no opinion on the staff, service, cleanliness, etc. The pizza is very good. I also had the caesar salad and pasta here. All very good and stands out in comparison to other italian restaurants. I like their takeout menu in terms of variety and option to choose the portion (half or full). Very pleased with the food and overall experience.

We moved from Lake Grove 26 years ago. Whenever we return La Grova is a must visit. Carmine greeted us as family. The food and service were great; from the garlic knots, to Fusilli fra Diavolo with shrimp & scallops, to Chicken a la Marsala, to the pizza & salads. Yeah the five of us were hungry. Oh yeah, the recommended wines fit our orders. The meal was topped off by dessert. Home made cannoli, tiramisu, bundt cake, & ice cream cake served with cappuccino & expresso. It was a very special evening!

I was eating my meal and saw a customer who was expecting to pick up food for take out, get berated and ultimately disrespected by an older gentleman who looked to be in charge of the restaurant. Possibly the owner. Not only did he use aggressive foul language, he made the point to walk around the counter and push into the older woman with his chest.
Several other employees were complicit with his actions, and did nothing to deter him. I immediately paid my bill and left. The lack of compassion and empathy has turned me away, I WILL NOT be returning. This behavior is just unacceptable. After seeing this it compelled me so much as to write a complaint for the first time about any business. Very disappointing. I'm only giving 1 star because it seems that's the lowest rating possible. It's disconcerting to hear that this is a family business, because their only hurting their own family behaving this way. Ohh, also, the chicken parmigiana was chewy and over cooked. Again, very disappointing.

Dated, dreary and dreadful! We were in the mood for some nice Italian. So we drove 10 minutes to get here, because the other reviews sounded good? Bad food, bad service, bad atmosphere and. we spent the entire time shooing an extremely tenacious fly and an equally annoying gnat. Then, the waiter raised the curtains so we were blinded by the sun. which was actually preferable to looking at the food!
When my leftovers fell on the floor, i was actually relieved (but felt a bit sorry for the floor!) We'd have been better off at the Olive Garden. you don't expect much from them! What a waste of $50+! Wouldnt go back if they paid ME!

I love this place, it's so underrated. We came in for dinner on a Thursday and they had an amazing deal: 2 salads, 2 entrees, 2 coffees and 2 desserts for $30. We started with a generous bread basket and a great salad (and I'm not a salad person). I got the tilapia marechiara and my fiancee got the zuppe de pesce. They gave us each a GIANT plate filled with seafood and ANOTHER plate of spaghetti with more seafood (take a peek at the picture I uploaded).
These are really big portions of amazingly good food. Delicious sauce and everything was perfectly prepared. We ended with some great coffee and perfect cheesecake and rum cake. Our waiter was a nice older gentleman who was very sweet and very attentive. Will definitely come back again and again.
