LA Promenade

Thank you to La Promenade for creating a beautiful Gluten Free 40th birthday cake for my husband. The fabulous staff at La Promenade were able to bring my vision for this cake to life, incorporating all of my husband's varied interests, and were able to do this with only three days notice. Tip: Follow up on your calls and emails by going into their shop to chat directly with the kind staff!

I have had two custom cakes made at La Promenade, one for my wedding and one for my birthday. Both cakes were delicious! We asked for something simple for our wedding and they delivered perfectly, speaking to them about it via email was enough. For my birthday I went in to speak with them a couple of weeks before the event but they were too busy at the moment and asked if they could call me.

Over the phone I described what I wanted, referred to pictures on their gallery for reference, and they said not a problem. They also came up with the great idea of having one cake for display and another for extra servings to satisfy the amount of cake for ~35 people without having one big cake that they said would look like a wheel. When we went to pick up the cake it was not at all what we had discussed and we brought it back and asked them to fix it.

They were not happy and hung up the phone on me but the person I was speaking to cooled down and called me back a few minutes later. There was a miscommunication on the colors I wanted (I wanted the same colors as the cake on the gallery but she thought I wanted only some of the colors on that cake, not all of them) and they do not do a good job with ombre.

They changed it to a point where I was happy it no longer looked like a 5 year old princess cake but it was not exactly what I wanted (as you can see in the picture the cake is striped, not ombre) and was a headache. My advice would be to go in person and make sure you overly explain your idea if there is no exact picture to reference.

Absolutely gorgeous custom cakes! Me and my friends had wedding cakes from this place and every cake was delicious and looked amazing! There are many options to select from! They can also make a vegan cake. My friend had a vegan cake at her wedding that was delicious. No one could tell it was vegan. Our cakes was chocolate with fruits inside. I am not a big fun of plain vanilla cakes, so we were happy to order chocolate one! We also asked for the real flowers which was absolutely gorgeous! Definitely recommend this amazing place!

Garbage! Rude people. Food is frozen leftovers. Pastries and cakes are stale and moldy.

My family is fairly new to town and I wanted to like this place so much based on reviews. But how horrible everything tastes. My son was interested in ordering a cake for his birthday. To get an idea on flavors, we purchased a $25 cake and took it home to try. It was one of the worst cakes I have ever had in my life. The buttercream smelled funny and had a sour aftertaste.

The cake itself was dry and stale. The proportions of cake to cream were entirely off. Never too much buttercream when it is delicious but not in this instance. I called to discuss how the cake was spoiled and was asked to bring it in. When I brought it in, the woman agreed that the cake should not have tasted like this or been so dry that it wouldn't hold when cut.

So instead of offering me a new cake or even a refund, what does she do? She keeps the $25 cake that I brought back and gives me 2 dry and equaling horrible tasting cupcakes that total $7. Bad taste, bad customer service and crooks. If someone returns uneaten cake because it is spoiled, the very least you can do is refund the customer their money.

Why do people give this place good reviews. Please avoid businesses that operate by taking advantage of people. Update on the cupcakes they swapped the cake with: the cake part was cardboard-like and taste-less on the chocolate. The carrot cupcake was undercooked. The sugar in the cream cheese frosting was not completely integrated. Gross all around. This store does not know or bake a good cake/cupcake.

Rude customer service. Avoid their online ordering system. You get a confirmation email from 9fold/HungerRush but no message from the bakery. Then the bakery does not send you any information about the delivery or if it was completed. I called two weeks later to check and they said they don't keep records that far back! I was told to call the recipient and see if it was delivered. Sorry but I don't want to call a grieving family and ask if their Shiva basket was delivered!

One of my favorite places by far! We've used them for catering in the past and I visit any chance I get when I'm in town. A morning glory muffin and a cup of hazelnut coffee helps me immediately decompress. Yes I know that sounds funny but it works. Lol. The food is half as good as the people who work there and the food is some of the best in Bergen County!

Cronuts are only thing I'd try. Tried their cookies and pies. The cherry pie I had was all dough not much filling. The shell itself was very dense, dry and heavy with no trace of butter. Guest had a few bites and I ended up throwing out rest of it. The cookies while pretty were drier than Amazon shipping box. Go to Balthazar. They use real French butter in their pies and cookies.

I'm giving 2 stars for their cronuts we bought and zero for their service. We were so excited to go this place, however the experience was ruined by bad service. When we got there, there was a girl working who seemed very attentive serving another customer. We waited and another women(who had brown hair) working there came out to help us. However, she was so eager to get us out and rushing us about our order.

There were only two customers including us in the enire store. She spoke so fast and did not answer my simple questions such as "do you have.? Which ones did you say you had?" I felt like we had to make our decision right away. I'm always willing to wait if I have to for good food and good service. I could have waited for the other women to help us, but she came out to help. Then, she should of helped us, not rush us out.

I really don't understand what the deal was. I don't think I will return to this place despite the good reviews and will not have good things to say about it since I didn't have time or chance to order anything else. For a first time visit, it will be our last visit.

Ohhhhh. we chose La Promenade to stop and get some delicacies. They have churros today which were deliciousssss! I ate a donut filled w/Nutella; it was glazed and had almond on top. My husband wanted a glazed chocolate donut and another filled with Nutella and Boston cream. We think that for that kind of beautifully donuts, the owner maybe can wrap them in a box, because when we wanted to eat them, they were squashed and the glazed on the top was almost disappeared. Next time maybe! God bless you, team!

This place is amazing! I've enjoyed the food and baked items from La Promenade for years and attended several events where they catered the food. All of the food items were always delicious. I've catered many parties at my home and at private party spaces, but this place ranks far and above all others. From the ordering process, to the delivery and of course to the taste and presentation.it was all perfect.

They also made a beautiful cake that not only looked amazing it tasted delicious. It is nearly impossible to get a great tasting cake that looks beautiful as well. They were so easy to work with and made the entire process effortless! I highly recommend them for your next event!

Love this shop! I would say it has one of the best choclate chip cookies. Get one if they are available

This cake was amazing! I came into the shop when I was visiting the area and the staff was so helpful describing everything in the showcase. When they said chocolate cake with cannoli filling, I knew I had to have it. The cake was very moist and delicious with thick layers of chocolate chip cannoli filling. And it was so beautiful I was able to use it as a prop for photos of my nephew!

One warning - ask for prices before you decide on something. I was a bit surprised that this cake was $55 - I would have gotten it anyway but my dad was paying and so this was a bit of a shock for him and I must admit I didn't think it would be that pricey.

Custom cakes | Bakery | Frozen meals/dinner | Catering This is an absolute gem. They excel in creating custom cakes for any special occasion. I ordered my daughter's first birthday cake from them (need to put the order 2 weeks ahead). Alongside regular bakery items like cakes, cup cakes, brownies, cannolis, they also sell salads, cold sandwiches, flan and many other items.

They have a huge frozen food section that includes variety of dishes like chicken/veg tikka masala, veg dumplings, beef lasagna, chicken marsala, chicken breast, roasted vegetables, lamb navarin, beef brisket and many other items. Usually they are large enough to serve 2-3 people. They also do catering, especially due to Covid, they have individual catering box serving. If you around the area, this a must visit place.

My 1st time to try this place. I got yelp to deliver and tried their nutella cronut, that's so good. I dont mind paying 4$ for a huge and yummy cronut. I guess they ran out of boston cream and plain glaze that is why they replaced it with 2 good ones too. Will try more from this place.

The cutest semi naked carrot cake was everything we expected it to be. EVERYONE absolutely loved it! Also, the mini cronuts were a hit. Especially the raspberry filled & the glazed. Love this place!

Very friendly staff and limit clients in store to 3 at a time. Ordered a tiramisu cake for 50th bday party and they were very accommodating with only 3 days notice. Got rave reviews cake was delicious and beautifully done Also picked up a few cupcakes, carrot, chocolate and Oreos - standard fare, a little small for the price The Nutella cronut was the family favorite! Definitely would go back and try the other food since desserts were on point

I'm a bit of a procrastinator and ordered my wife a cake at like 3pm on the day of her birthday. A beautiful decadent vanilla Cake was delivered 20 minutes later and it was extremely good. Lovely yellow cake and perfect frosting. You guys made me look good to my wife - thanks for that!

La promenade is a bakery located in the quaint town of Tenafly. This northern NJ spot is unique in that they make everything and most of it is really good. They specialize in croughnuts which are a cross between a croissant and a donut. However, I prefer all there other deserts. Their pastries are absolutely delightful. Especially the ones with chocolate.

They also make a really good chocolate croissant. They also cater and offer food all served in a beautiful display of class. If your looking to impress a group of friends with a box of pastries this is the place to go. I highly recommend this place.

I never had a good cronut until I came here! While a bit pricey, the quality is great and fresh, so I don't actually mind. Plus 1 is honestly enough since these cronuts are pretty heavy. I've had their apple pie (cobbler?) and their hamentashen which were great as well. The staff is very friendly and helpful, which is always a plus. Great (and not so great for my sweet tooth) for me, I live super close to this fine place. I plan to stop by often.

My passion for creating beautiful designs has lead me to launch Skye High Events. La Promenade exceeded my expectations! Our collaboration for this event was beautifully executed and the cake was delivered 1.5 hours away with no issues. The cake was the center of my design for a 65th Birthday party. It was a real show stopper!

Best cronut I've ever had in my entire life. Perfectly balanced sweet and savory. Croissant to Donut ratio. My favorite was the chocolate glazed. I tried the plain- classic Jelly- pretty sure they make their own home made jelly very good this one is a bit heavier. Chocolate glazed

La Promenade never disappoints. Fresh goods at all times. Today I picked up an Oreo cupcake and cronut. The cupcake was moist. As the cronut was a perfect mix of crunchy and soft.

La Prom made our DELICIOUS semi-naked carrot cake with cream cheese filling for our wedding! Everyone loved it and I'm already looking forward to eating more on our first anniversary : It was beautiful as can be as well--they did exactly what I wanted! I had an amazing first experience with this bakery! I ordered a custom cake for my parents 25th anniversary THE DAY BEFORE! I spoke with a girl on the phone who answered my long list of questions and helped me to pick the best cake flavors based on my parents' preferences. I ended up choosing a chocolate/vanilla cake, whipped cream and chocolate ganache.

The girl even asked if I wanted fresh strawberries in the frosting, and of course I had to say yes! My parents absolutely LOVED the cake! They said it was super fresh, moist, not overly sweet, and beautifully presented. I will definitely be back for future custom cakes. The price is so reasonable and the staff was extremely helpful and understanding. Thank you for helping me so last minute!
