THE RESTAURANT The French 2nd empire style landmark today houses one of Vermont's exceptional restaurants. The unpretentious atmosphere reflects both the professional knowledge and hospitable personalities of the Schnbchler's. The three dining rooms are situated on the 1st floor and are as quaint and charming as they come.

I don't know how I've gone so long before dining here, the dishes are amazing. The dining room is lovely, huge and open with a high ceiling that made me feel very comfortable to be in. My wife had a peach and squash soup which was excellent, perfectly creamy, sweet and salty. I had a nightly special, thick juicy pork chop with a mushroom sauce that was excellent.
The wait staff seemed inexperienced but were very polite and friendly. My only criticism is that my creme brulee was kind of gelatinous and not as sweet or creamy as I would have liked but this did not detract from the overall dining experience which was a 10 out of 10. The chocolate mousse was an excellent dessert. They only take reservations so plan ahead, you won't be able to walk in but, it is worth a little planning on your end for a great dining experience.

Didn't actually get to eat here and thankful for that. We arrived a little before 5pm hoping to eat early. We were met in the parking lot by a woman who was extremely rude. Her first question "Can I help you?" second was "do you have reservations?" Next comment was "sorry we are full and don't serve until 5:30." Followed by "please move your vehicles." Why would we leave our vehicles there if we aren't eating there? Never again. Would've loved to try it another time if their guard dog greeter wasn't so rude. Never again

I can't speak more highly about this place and I'd give it more than 5 stars if I could. The chef, who is also one of the owners, is absolutely phenomenal. His meals are like a work of art, made with great love and pride. He brings standard menu items to new levels by using the best ingredients and adding his own creative twists. Every meal I've had has been absolutely fantastic.
The Sunday brunch is literally the best brunch I've ever had in my life. The owners have to be some of the nicest people I've met and always make guests feel very warmly welcomed and make you feel like family. For this reason, they have the most loyal patrons that have been dining there for many years.
