Chick N' Friends

The food at this place is fantastic. I don't know what they use to coat the chicken but it's some of the best fried chicken I have eaten. Had the 4 piece chicken dinner. Came with breast, wing, leg and thigh which were all well seasoned and cooked perfectly. Also included were fries and collard greens. All well seasoned and tasting great. Cornbread came with it as well but I'm not a big cornbread fan. If you have not tried this place, I think you should. It was my first time going to this establishment and it definitely won't be my last.

Fish (whiting) was chewy (tasted like it was frozen and not thawed properly) and under seasoned. Peach cobbler and tea was great. Everything else (sides) were ok. Customer service was pleasant.

I was in the area for work and tried to go to Sonoma's across the way but they were closed. I saw this place and it looked interesting. I ordered a spicy fried chicken sandwich with fries and cole slaw. He said 25 minutes which I thought was long but said ok I was served about 10 minutes later. The chicken breast was large and stuck way out of the bun.

The bun was run of the mill but fresh. The saice on the chicken was outstanding. It was spicy and sweet and the chicken was completely covered but not to the point that it became a complete mess. The fries were fresh, thick cut sticks with a light batter and were perfectly cooked. The cole slaw had an orangeish color and was very tasty. Only downside was that the ac was not working but they had fans and the temperature was fine. Very nice people working there who I assume are the owners as they were very appreciative of my comments when I was done.

Friday April 22nd 6 pm, I went to pick my order. It was 2 pieces of fish. They made me sit 50 minutes for this small order. very un professional staff. They are very slow. I got stuck. I did not like their service. So be careful about your food, you may have to wait 30/40 minutes.

I've passed this place up so many times because of the mixed reviews. SO GLAD I stopped in today. Had the fried chicken with candied yams and Mac. for dessert I had the peach cobbler. Chicken was lightly seasoned but the win was in how juicy and tender it was. The candied yams and Mac n cheese were also delicious. 100% recommend.

I would love to recommend and support this business, but I can't. Their customer service is poor. I have called on numerous occasions to either place a order or because I had an issue with my food. No one answers their phone, it goes straight to voicemail. How do you expect to run a solid business and you can't even answer your phone. As a MBE owner myself, I'm always looking to support other minority businesses, however this one just ain't it! The food is okay but it doesn't speak for the quality of service!

I usually buy lake trout on Friday. When the pieces are small, the cook usually throws in a few extra pieces. Small meaning no wider than three inches and 4 to 5 inches long. Today I received one good size piece and 5 very small pieces. I was totally surprised. I will speak with them tomorrow about the size of the 6 piece order. It cost $19.99 and a small 3 piece is 12.99.

I always thought that a half means 50% less in price. This too will be part of my discussion, hopefully, with the owner. I am very disappointed with this order and I hope that the next time, if there is a next time, they will do better because the food is usually very favorable.

If you want made to order chicken, that's not sitting under a lamp waiting for you. Then go to Chick n friends! The owner is eager to please and values her customers. I strongly recommend you stop by and give them a try. The chicken is so flavorful and served up HOT in temperature, just what I like. I had my chicken with greens and Mac n cheese! Winning combination.

I also ordered a large chicken box(pic shown) And let's not forget the fries! OHHH MMMM GEEEE! The cut of the fries give you an opportunity to taste the potato itself(try it and you'll see what I mean). I also washed it down with the half and half(shown below) PERFECT! Just the right mixture.

Good food, large portions and flavorful! We enjoyed it. We actually bought too much thinking we would not have time to pick up or make lunch tomorrow. Now we have food for like 3 days. : I'm not complaining!

I had been trying to get here for a while based on a recommendation from a coworker. The food was worth the wait. I am from New Orleans and I can honestly say this is the best fried chicken I have ever had. It was prepared to order so I waited for a little while. Chicken had the perfect crisp on the outside and juicy in the inside. Perfectly seasoned! I am a fan!

I had the chance to visit the black own establishment today with my husband for our anniversary lunch date. When I the food was hot, delicious, and tasteful hands down. This will not be the last time we visit this establishment. The customer service was excellent

**Update*** Service has been great every time after this visit. My go to spot for comfort food Food was good. I will probably go back, but not for some time, service wasn't the best the day I went. But I would recommend it. Grandma loved the mac&cheese

Food is decent. Prices I will consider as reasonable. Service times are horrible. Waited 1 hour and 16 minutes for my chicken basket and whiting dinner on a Fridayeveningat 530pm. No thank you for a 2nd try. Wanted to patronize my neighborhood business. Lack of respect.

It's a NO for me. I visited this establishment on Friday, 2/11/22. I phoned my order in at 6:00pm. The young lady stated the food would be ready in 25 mins. You would think it was ready at 6:25 p.m.?!? Nope! How about when I arrived I had to WAIT an additional 30 mins. The point of pre-ordering was I had my dog with me, so he has to wait in the car for 30 mins. Let's talk about the food itself.uhhh.ahhh. NOT IT!

They have been around for awhile. I think they need to re-group and figure some things out down to the customer service. The food was just okay, not worth the wait. Maybe I went on the wrong day, but you should always put your best foot forward. Let's talk about the Mac and cheese. Please compare my photo to the other reviewers photos. THEY SERVED ME STOUFFERS MAC AND CHEESE.

Now if you ran out just say that and let me decide, but really?! The suppose-it-be collard greens were just okay. The chicken had a nice crunch, but again, just okay. Will I be back? Absolutely NOT! They need to re-huddle and fix a few things, customer service being one. **The fact it took my order an entire hour to prepare NOBODY apologized for the wait. There was a poor couple who waited longer and they were there before me. They had extreme patience.**

I was really looking forward to the chicken and waffles after all the great reviews on social media but I'm extremely disappointed. I ate the waffle which was just ok and trashed the tenders because they were extremely salty.

Best Soul Food In Maryland that I have tried. I ordered Fried Chicken, Fried Catfish, Hot n' Spicy Chicken & Fries, Macaroni n Cheese, Collard Greens, Corn Bread, Sweet Yams & Lemon Cake! Everything & I mean EVERYTHING we ordered was delicious. I strongly recommend this place its worth the drive!

I've heard about this spot on Facebook and a few friends said that the food was great. So, today we decided to order and was excited to support a local business. However, the food wasn't good at all. We got one 3-piece meal and one 4-piece meal ($30). The chicken was seasoned well though it tasted like oil. The sides were mac and cheese, greens, and yams.

The mac had a strange taste like flour and cheese wiz. The greens were extremely salty, the corn bread was stale with no taste (trashed both immediately), and the yams were tender but loaded with sugar. I couldn't even eat the stuff. We all were just super disappointed. My sister said that the food was amazing when the restaurant was in Long Reach.

Maybe it has different management and cooks. I wanted to love it! Long story short, we definitely won't go back. I'll stick with Southern Blues as their food is more authentic soul food particularly the mac and cheese.

Food is very good but somewhat salty and expensive. My major problem was the fact that the employees wore masks that did not cover their mouths or noses. The greens were mediocre but everything else was very good.

I am a delivery driver. I don't know about how the food tastes here. I was delivering an order from this restaurant today. After waiting for 1 hour and 17 minutes, I politely asked the receptionist that another driver will come and pick up this order as I cannot afford to wait further. I unassigned the order and went back to my car in the parking.

I was waiting in my car for the next order when a lady staff member from this restaurant came up to me with bags of food and asked me to take it to the costumer. I politely explained it to her that I have already unassigned this order. I don't have this order with me anymore. This lady flipped, instead of understanding my argument. She shouted at me, used bad words, and threatened me with consequences.

She also noted my car plate number. This is very unprofessional. Legally I could have called cops on them for harassment. I was in my right to refuse the order. Also, She was suppose to apologize to me because they wasted more than an hour of my time. I will never take my family to this restaurant. Regards

The food is good but the service is not. The wait was at least 30 minutes for a takeout order and the server's seemed confused at best. Was asked several times what were the contents of my order. Turns out, we visited during the dinner rush. Staff and servers were very friendly and apologetic. I'm rooting for this place.

We had take out with friends, the menu consisted of fried chicken, fried fish, fried shrimp, greens, candied yams, and French fries. The chicken was the star of the show. Well seasoned, crispy, and filling. I am not a big yam fan, but these yams had an okay flavor. What threw things off was that the syrup had a thickness of apple pie out of the can.

The greens also had an interesting taste. Not bad just interesting. The French fries were cold by the time I got to them so I can t rate those, but they seemed to be real potatoes cut into fries with some sort of breading. The shrimp was a no go for me, they looked really good, but I too am not a fried shrimp person. The fish was bland to me and I needed some hot sauce. All in all the food was decent and worth another visit to try some other menu items. If nothing else enough to pick up some chicken.

I decided earlier in the day, I would order food for lunch and remembered Chick N Friends. I knew from advice to order early because food sometimes took a minute. To me that just means you make it fresh and I appreciate that. So I ordered my food about 30 minutes before my lunch break and when I arrived to pick it up the gentleman was packing it up.

Perfect timing. When I open the container the smell of fresh fried Chicken and waffles drifted up my nose and I was so giddy. First bite of chicken was so satisfying. As I continue to eat I noticed it wasn't fried hard and a little messy but still okay. I tried a piece of waffle and the crispy and softness was the perfect combination for indulgence.

As I continued to eat, I noticed I had a processed after taste in my mouth. I dipped a piece of waffle in the syrup they provided and it helped somewhat. However, by the time I was halfway finished that processed taste was just taking over everything. The next time, I definitely think I will ask them to fry my chicken hard and I'm not too sure what to do about the waffle.

The first bite I could taste the buttermilk and was pleased but I couldn't finish eating it due to the process taste. I tried to determine if it was coming from the chicken or the waffle and it seemed like it was coming from the coating of the chicken. I guess whatever they use to coat the chicken with is packaged and probably has some preservatives in it. That is definitely a way to make sure the chicken always taste the same but now fresh chicken, taste processed.

This place is great. Ordered delivery- came fast and everything was still hot. Recommend.

Please note: This restaurant is under new management. I finally had a chance to try this restaurant. One thing I can say is the owner is an absolute pleasure. Her service is unmatched. Her son was pleasant as well. However the food needs some work and she's willing to make changes and appreciate all feedback. The fried chicken was pretty good, seasoned well nice batter.

My daughter loved her wings. -The shrimp basket was lacking seasoning on the batter. I dislike the oil aftertaste. The dipping sauce was good -The chicken biscuit the tenders were cut too thick. Due to the thickness, the chicken was a bit undercooked. The biscuit itself was very good. -collard greens were ok but lacking flavor I will definitely visit again especially because the restaurant is under new management and I'm sure overtime things will get better.

I really hate to leave negative reviews for businesses but there is no way to avoid this. I ordered their 1lb shrimp basket for $17 and was given 9 shrimp and a few soggy fries. I also ordered a catfish dinner and was told there was no cornbread left after paying. I spent almost $50 and I was given end of the day scraps. I try to support black owned businesses like this one but never again.

It's good to see young black teens working in this place but they need some adult supervision. This entire brand is being run into the ground due to lack of management. Very sad.

Chick N Friends is now back open and the food is still amazing. No indoor seating and proper Covid guidelines are being followed. I was missing some soul food in my Columbia town.

I finally had the pleasure of visiting Chick N' Friends. Quickly upon entry, we were greeted by friendly staff members. We ordered. Chicken & waffles, a Hot & Spicy chicken sandwich, a whiting dinner w/ greens & mac n cheese, and a slice of lemon cake (which didn't stand a chance on the ride home). The food was deliciously seasoned and generously proportioned, and the customer service was exceptional. Overall, this was definitely a great pick for Sunday dinner.
