Larry's Market is no secret to Wisconsin food enthusiasts and lovers of all things cheese - the market has established quite the following due to accolades from fans like John McGivern. Larry's Market started experimenting with new foods and trends in the early 1960s when Larry Ehlers was an employee of Brown Deer Market in a time when fresh-cut flowers, frozen foods and perishables were not exactly staples in your local grocery store. These experiments led Larry's down the path to making their mark as Milwaukee's first specialty & fine food store.
At the heart of Larry's is the cheese case - where you will find an impressive selection of Artisan cheeses made right here in Wisconsin. Small batch cheese carefully crafted from cow, goat and sheep's milk make for a delightful treat or a unique addition to any cheese plate. You will also discover fine imported cheeses from France, Spain, Italy, Denmark and more.
For some people, gift giving is a serious undertaking - give the gift of delicious, call Larry's!. Larry's gifts are for every reason and every season! Our staff is here to help you create the perfect gift that is sure to impress. How about joining our mailing list?

They have great dinner specials that are so easy to reheat at home. My go to is the egg salad from the deli, amazing every time!

Not impressed at all. Ordered the dinner special for almost $15 and the portion size could feed a 2 year old so I added a cup of chili to my order bringing the total close to $20 and was very disappointed in that also. The whole meal ended up in the garbage.

Larry's market was at one time the benchmark for many food items including cheese, lunch, soups, cold cuts, catering, spices, and assorted other food items that you often times could find nowhere else in the city. It was so good that even though my office was 22 miles away, we would bring in food from Larry's for lunch at least once a month. Things have changed.

I had a craving, after five years of retirement for Larry's market. I usually got soup and a sandwich. There are many choices of soup each day, and sandwiches, I have always loved his seafood gumbo on Fridays. My favorite sandwich was always Larry's chicken salad on sourdough bread. The soup contained literally no seafood. The sourdough bread was stale, and the chicken salad remains the same.

My wife got her favorite sandwich on whole wheat bread, and it, too, was stale. I know Larry's must be suffering like all restaurants from the Covid pandemic, and perhaps the labor shortage. But I find it hard to believe that the quality control has become this lax. Another thing that is disappointing about Larry's is that he closes at 5 PM. So, any after work cravings will have to wait until you can get away during work, which is rare, to satisfy your Larry's crave. I used to love Larry's. One of my Milwaukee top 10's for lunch. Skip it.

Really disappointed w the duck pot pie. It smelled of vinegar from unwrapping to cutting into the crust when it was really overwhelming. The filling looked great and the crust was too.

Larry's is my favorite place to stop and fill up my fridge for lunches and dinners for the week. Trust me. Their enchiladas are my favorite. Sandwiches are a must. Grab a couple pot pies to put in your freezer. Amazing snacks and sweets. Larry's is a great place to pick up delicious food to help you eat great throughout the week without having to spend tons of time cooking. The quality of their ingredients is out of this world. Don't walk, RUN! :

Stopped in to grab an early dinner. Everyone there was really friendly/great customer service. I picked up two tenderloin steak sandwiches, a soda, and a black and white cookie. My total was roughly $22. They have a good looking deli case with lots of options for the build your own sandwich menu. Thought the steak was a nice medium, but I was a little disappointed it wasn't warmed, though I'm sure they would've made it that way had I asked. I'd definitely go back, this is a great little deli/specialty market! Plus it looks like they cater as well.

Love this place. Deli sandwiches made to order and nice selection of sides. Store section has premade meals and a strange but fun assortment of sauces, jams, chocolates, cheeses, etc. Deli is very reasonably prices. rest of the stuff seems a bit pricey.

This place was quite nice. Small, but did have a decent amount of stuff. I was a bit disappointed in the selection of cheeses. That's not to say that did not have a wide variety, but from what everyone has told me about this place, it was basically the cheese mecca of southeastern Wisconsin, and that simply wasn't the case. I came in looking for a list of about 25 cheeses, and they did not have a single one.

I understand it might have been a shot in the dark, and maybe they were rarer cheeses, but I figured I'd maybe be able to find one or two. All that being said, I will be back to this place. I definitely would like to try one of their pot pies.

Delicious. Can't believe I haven't been here before. Lunch was great. I loved the clam chowder and half sandwich. I wanted to buy some food for dinner from their freezer section however I was headed back to work and couldn't store them. They had frozen mini calzones and pheasant pot pies that looked excellent. I will be back

Definitely one of the best places to grab lunch in Milwaukee! Larry's is an old school deli/market that carries exceptional quality products. I love to get a prepared on the spot, gourmet sandwich from them when I'm working in the area. They also carry side salads, a plethora of drinks, and all sorts of wonderful snacks and desserts. I recently tried their Black Truffle Cashews and WOW. Gourmet cheeses, wines, and Nueske's & Sprecher products round out their offerings. The customer service has always been outstanding, and I plan on supporting them with my business for a long time.

This little gem is tucked into the small village area of Brown Deer. Some patio seating available. Nice variety of deli sandwhiches, salads, soup, beverages & baked goods which you order at the deli counter. Service was pretty quick. Large selection of cheeses & gourmet groceries. A favorite stop when I am in the area, a great small business to support!

Cute little market/deli located in the Village of Brown Deer. My friend and I will order lunch frequently such as soups and sandwiches to-go. Usually something is wrong with one of the orders (ie: ordered crab salad sandwich and received egg salad sandwich; they don't know what a Reuben is; etc) butttt it's pretty good and we like supporting local businesses so we keep going back :) They also cater and we placed a small order for a bridal shower for sandwiches and other "finger foods" - it was great! Looked great. Price was right. Every thing was ready on time.

Larry's Market is the coolest place to get the unique little dinner item for a quiet make at home. Make a comfy meal for yourself, your lover, your family, or a friend! Drop in here pick up appetizers, cheeses, wines, the best pot pies in flavors unimaginable, pastas, sauces, chocolates, non-alcoholic beverages, jams, special candies, all kinds of unexpected tasty treats to delight your guests!

This ain't your regular grocery store! You'll love shopping here to make a special meal to surprise someone special! Brighten up a cold winter night! Put some heat in a chilly boring COVID Autumn evening! Spice up football game day! Make your Thanksgiving meal delightful with a special sweet treat! As for me, I was willing to risk getting a ticket to get a vegetable pot pie in my hands for Meatless Monday night dinner before they closed last night!

I would have even begged for a police escort from the ticketing officer AFTER accepting my fine just to get there before they closed! Luckily, I called when I got off the highway to let them know I was only a few miles away and beg if they would wait for me! They did! I was toe wiggling happy as I ate my pot pie with a huge salad for dinner! Yes, it was that good! Thank you very much!

Yum! I came here for an amazing breakfast sandwich on a Saturday and wish Larry's was closer to my house. Larry's is such a cute market with amazing cheeses, jams, meats, and wines. Not to mention, their bake at home potpies are something to write home about. Their staff is welcoming and service is quick. I feel like Larry's Market is a community staple and makes you feel really at home when you walk through their doors. Happy to have come here, and excited to come back!

This was a nice experience today when visiting Larry's Market after lunch at Kurt Schulz deli, which is just across the street. As we just ate lunch we purchased some in-house made pound cake to take home, sorry not pictured. I was impressed with the amount of local, national and imported products. The cheese selection is rather big for the size of the store, as well as the offerings of different pot pies.

In the frozen section pot pies can be had from crab to veal, very interesting and this is on our list to try in the very near future. At noon the lunch rush almost stacked people out the door for freshly prepared sandwiches and soups, so I was only able to take one picture to show their menu. They offer a half sandwich at about $3.75 to $4.95. Nice offering if you would like to pair with soup or just a bag of chips. We will be back this week to check out their soup and sandwiches. Nice place, you should check it out.

I feel bad giving a bad rating to a place that seems to be liked by many, but I have to be true to my experience. I wanted to go to Larry's after I saw them on TV one morning and I wanted to go specifically for a pot pie. The pies are all frozen and there are many choices, from traditional chicken to lobster to a Wisconsin brat, beer and cheese pot pie.

I had my hopes up and selected the shrimp creole pot pie for something different and fun. Once home, I dutifully followed the directions and cooked it about 55 minutes and then took it out for it to cool. The crust looked perfect and I was anxious to dig in. That's when it went from mmmm to ugh. My first bite had crust, a nice size shrimp and the creamy filling.

Although I tasted some of those ingredients, the overwhelming flavor was salt. I took a drink of water and tried another bite. I had four or five bites to give it a chance, but was so overwhelmed with salt that I couldn't eat any more. I found it inedible. I don't ever remember having a dish anywhere that had this much salt in it. I spent $10 on the pot pie, and that ended up to be about $2.50 a bite and a waste of money.

I see reviews for cheese and sandwiches here that get rave reviews, but I didn't get any of those things. I got a pot pie and that's what got my one star. So disappointing.

I was out here for work for two weeks and must have come here at least every other day. I wish we had a market like this in my neighborhood. Eclectic, cute, and friendly. There's a very interesting assortment of food and snacks here and everything was carefully chosen. You can't go wrong with anything that you pick up here. I ordered several sandwiches from the counter each time and they were hand made right in front of you by the friendly ladies.

You can customize the sandwiches however you want, grab a bag of chips, and check out at the front counter. There is also an amazing dessert counter right to the left of checkout, so be sure to pick up a cookie or two as well! The Lemon Coconut Cookie I had there I still dream about. Can't wait to come back next year! New favorite.

Amazing cheese selection and they let you taste whatever cheese you want. I bought some Chedder Cheese Curds, Gouda and a 7 year aged Chedder. I also tasted an amazing Double Cream Brie with a very thin rind. I don't like the rind and this one was outstanding. They have a Deli, I had the Corned Beef on a Pretzel bun which was very good. I enjoyed a Key Lime mousse for dessert.

And for those who know what a Dr. Browns soda is, they have quite a selection. I couldn't help myself and I got the Root Beer and the Black Cherry. They sell all kinds of cheese supplies. Cheese boards, knives, fondue pots and Raclette melters. The staff is highly knowledgeable. Good attitudes and very helpful. Definitely recommend.

It's a small market that serves sandwiches and salads for lunch. They have a small dining area too on the side. Their menu changes each week. I haven't tried it yet, but starting on April 10 they will have outdoor cookouts for lunch every Friday. The market also has a variety of sweets, jams, wines, cheese, and bread. I like browsing through the store to find local or artisan goodies.

Why do I find Larry's Market 2 days before I move to the south side? This place. is awesome. I think I did a cheese tasting class here about 10 years back, but I wasn't sure. All I know is that I was a big dummy for not getting a sandwich to eat at that class. It would have changed the last decade of my life. The service at the deli was really great.

I was helped by a woman who gave me any samples my heart desired. I was stuck between the Honey Mustard Chicken Salad Sandwich and the Oven Roasted Turkey (that they apparently roast in house-- wowzaz)--- I went with the Honey Mustard Chick Salad. It was soooo good. I got Barb's Broccoli Salad as my side, per recommendation of friendly server, and it was as good as she claimed.

The parmesan pasta salad also looked incredibly delicious. I came home with a veggie quiche (another recommendation of my friendly server), and can't wait to pop that in the oven.

I like the idea, I like the shop, I like the people. The food? Meh. I've experienced better. Somehow I keep coming back with higher hopes that this time will be better, and I always leave with a sour stomach. The most recent time was over the steak enchiladas and the Reuben Soup. When I mentioned that I didn't feel well after, my friend scoffed at my choice of soup, which I suppose I had coming.

I love reubens, and was excited at the idea, but it was literally a bowl of 1000 island dressing, laced with kraut and corned beef. WAY too sweet, WAY too heavy, and just overall not good. The enchiladas were fine, but you didn't have the option of buying just one. The steak was chewy and the inside was pure mush. The Friday cookouts are a fun idea, and they run it pretty well, my only complaint is how quickly they run out of food. For the price (I ALWAYS drop at least 10 bones) I'll keep looking.
