We had a great experience working with Foodz for our wedding. They helped us customize our wedding menu to exactly our tastes, provided recommendations and coordinated all of the linen rentals, and had overall great customer service. We got such great feedback from our guests- everyone LOVED the food and was so impressed! Multiple people told us it was the best wedding food they've ever had.
On the day of the wedding, all of the staff was so attentive and seemed to really care about the guests and wanted to make sure everyone was having a great time! The food and alcohol was expensive (comparable to other caterers in the area), but was definitely worth every penny we spent.

This is a year late review but we had Foodz Catering cater our wedding at what seemed like the very last minute. We did this in the midst of the pandemic when there were so many rules regarding wedding that we needed to abide by. They did an amazing job! Everyone was raving about the food and the bar service. I would not hesitate to hire them again!

We hired Foodz Catering to cater our wedding at a private farm on Whidbey Island, and what a great job they did! From the start, working with their team was easy -- they were friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and professional. The day of the wedding they showed up on time and immediately "hit the ground running." Their lead, Darby, took charge of the on-site team in a calm, relaxed and confident manner.
They started with passed appetizers that were delish, and elegantly served. The remainder of the food was also delicious and served flawlessly. All the leftovers were stored in neat little containers, each of which was hand labelled. And, after they left the kitchen and surrounding areas were cleaner than when they arrived! Working with Darby and her team was a pleasure and we are happy to have hired Foodz Catering!

Foodz catering has such an incredible range of cuisine that they do so well. We have been fortunate enough to work with them for years, and while they have always been top notch, we have seen them elevate their menu to a whole new level. Particularly impressed with their vegan options! Being a carnivore, I'm not quick to select them, but if their mushroom wellington is on the menu, you have got to try it! Wonderful customer relationships, a trusted partner in our industry. Shelby is simply amazing!

Foodz catering was fantastic to work with for our wedding. From the first time we met Camila we knew we made the right choice for our wedding catering. The experience with our tasting menu was such a thrilling and inviting introduction. We were able to customize our menu and the team was flexible and gracious with our different food sensitivities.
The team handled our rentals and literally thought of EVERYTHING. Working with Foodz you will not be disappointed. Camila took the stress out of planning and you can tell that not only does the team have so much experience but wants to make sure that their clients are well taken care of. The night was executed beautifully.

Foodz is one of the catering choices if you have a private event at Pacific Science museum from what I understand. Recently we attended a corporate function and we were told that the company used Foodz catering for the food. They purchased a menu that included sliders, chips and avocado toast bar. Desserts were also included. The sliders were not very good and the avocado toast bar was awful.
There was practically no avocado on each piece of toast and they didn't keep it up so there was nothing to add on the top. As for desserts, the macarons were good but they had very few and after that it was all chocolate mousse on a spoon which is pretty boring again. The company should have advertised no food and saved their money.

Davi with FOODZ catering was possibly one of the best catering experiences I have had to date. I am a corporate event planner and even with the scope of event, dates and budget changing multiple times, she kept customer service top of mind! The offerings and overall themed experience she and the FOODZ staff (Chef Shawn, Max, Jason, Helen and More) produced was simply spectacular!
All of the stuff were positive, upbeat, and very friendly! Their team work was impressive to watch unfold. My colleagues were so impressed, we have already rebooked them for another event! If you have a theme or idea for an event (large or small), FOODZ can help you achieve event excellence! I would never go to another caterer in the Seattle area.

To be fair, I'll say my now husband worked for them before we booked them for our wedding. But I worked with them for the majority of the planning and they went above and beyond to the make the day go well and the food was amazing! Everyone said so. The staff was kind and attentive, I felt like they were happy to be at our wedding working, even being a Saturday night. I would recommend them for any sort of event you would need.

Where do I even begin - Foodz is AMAZING! From the very start, they were responsive, helpful, and accommodating to our needs and budget. We worked closely with Davi on the catering, and she was a wealth of knowledge, and helped us get to a menu for our wedding that was perfect for us! Not only that, but Davi was our day of coordinator - she was the best decision we made during our wedding planning, truly.
I can't even begin to describe how lucky we felt to have had her working on our wedding with us! There were many times I had no idea what I was doing, and she was always there to provide solutions or advice, all of which was the perfect approach. I can't say enough about how great our wedding turned out because of the food and coordination support provided by the Foodz team. They were wonderfully open to our ideas, and helped us develop ideas where our thinking wasn't yet fully developed. They helped us walk that fine line between realistic expectations and "dreaming big" on what we wanted our day to be like. To top it off, they left us feeling pampered as their client. All in all it was an A+ experience.

I'm an events DJ/musician and Foodz is far and away the best catering company I have ever worked with. They are detailed, committed, loyal, creative, kind, and will go above and beyond to not only give you exceptional food and drinks, but a fantastic experience. As evidence by the reviews here, I too have never heard anything but raving and wonderful feedback when it comes to those who have hired Foodz Catering.

Foodz was one of the preferred caterers for our venue (Fremont Foundry), and after comparing/tasting/researching all of our options these guys emerged as the clear winner based on price, beautiful presentation of their food and THE BEST flavors of any caterer we tried. We met with Shelby at an Open House before we chose Foodz, and the food we tried there -- as well as Shelby's willingness to brainstorm with us, ask the right questions, come up with creative suggestions, make our specific requests happen, etc. -- sealed the deal.
We signed on the dotted line shortly thereafter. We didn't feel like we received the same kind of personalized attention in the decision-making process from anyone else like we did with Foodz. During the planning process, Foodz was really helpful with venue layout and helping us make sure we had all the right details in place. And the day/night of, the on site staff was super on top of it and checked in with us several times to make sure we had everything we needed, where happy, etc.
And they packed up the cutest little to-go box for us to take to the hotel with us that night (complete with mini cans of champagne!). My only criticism is that at times I felt the folks there weren't as responsive as I expected them to be -- perhaps this is because I spent 10+ years in a professional service industry where I was expected to respond to client inquiries in a matter of a couple of hours (and at the most 24 hours), so my expectations may be a bit higher.
And this probably wouldn't bother someone less type-A than me :). But there were times when I had to reach out a couple of time before getting an answer -- I get that everyone gets busy especially during peak times, but it seems like a response within a couple of days isn't unreasonable. However, overall even given this feedback, if I had to do it all over again I wouldn't change my decision to go with Foodz -- the day-of service and delicious food far outweighed any negatives!

We had such a great experience working with Foodz Catering for our wedding! I read a ton of reviews in comparing different vendors, and I am very happy that I trusted all the great reviews here. I felt like we were in really good hands, working with folks that truly cared about our wedding day and wanted it to be as amazing as possible. We were so fortunate to have Helen and Shelby for our big day!
The food was phenomenal, and the personalized help in choosing linens and all the rentals for the table decor was exactly what we needed. We wanted to personalize every detail of the day and they helped us to do it in a way that met our budget while being as wonderful as could be. The creativity of these folks is also unmatched - they helped come up with some really great food ideas for our cocktail reception (Americana inspired) and our dinner (Asian inspired), while not being overdone or tacky.
Just good food, prepared uniquely, and personalized to fit our tastes and personalities. Also, the ice cream bar was AWESOME and people are still raving about it! Thank you, thank you! *I would note - if you get an ice cream/soft serve machine, make sure to specify that it should be off during speeches. It got a little loud for folks sitting nearby, I heard. :) Otherwise, absolute perfection!

I got married at the Sanctuary at Admiral and had not had any previous experience with Foodz Catering. I didn't know what to expect. My guests and my bride and I were blown away by the meal. Truly. It was the capper to what was the most wonderful evening of my life. Thank you Chef Lindsay and thanks to Davi. I look forward to using you both again.

Foodz catered our auction for the Pacific Crest School in November 2015, an event for 400 participants at the Fremont Foundry. We were thrilled with Foodz Catering from the moment we first interacted with Shelby on the phone inquiring about catering to the moment our event ended. Shelby is helpful, informative, supportive, creative and most importantly provides great food for large events.
The path to this event was smooth and easy. The tasting was delicious. Changes in plans were made effortlessly. The staff members at the event were gracious, friendly and hard working. The food was exactly what we asked for. We highly recommend Foodz Catering!

Shelby was awesome. My mom and I had a blast meeting with her at the bistro and having lunch. It was fun talking with her before we got down to wedding business. She is great. She really listens to your ideas and comes up with great ideas she think you'll like. She felt more like a wedding planner than a just a caterer - she talked a lot about theme and vision and presentation - not just supplying food/drink.
The presentation was great. She really worked with out ideas to try and meet our budget, but I had to raise my budget a bit to get the outcomes I wanted. The food was awesome - guests were impressed and went back for seconds. One person wished they had left the food out longer, but I know others that went back for seconds and thirds so I'm not sure what happened there.
I got my fill and they had a nice to-go box ready at the end of the night for my husband and I to take with us and snack on. I'm a vegetarian so we only had one meat dish, but I don't think anyone noticed. Our menu was: appetizers: veggie crudite and dip, caprese pipets (check them out on the website, super cool and yummy), and stuffed peppadew peppers and dinner: salad with fresh strawberries, beer mac and cheese with pretzel crust, beet/goat cheese/arugula/spicy alioli sliders, steak sliders, and green bean/corn salad.
Literally everything tasted great. I couldn't pick a favorite, but I was really impressed with the mac and cheese and the pipettes and peppers. Food was filling too. I brought in my own beer and wine but they provided a bartender. They did their special water and super good raspberry lemonade. It was fresh, not fake sweet like they can be sometimes.
I also brought in local ice cream from molly moon and they took care of the display and service of it for dessert. The only downside was they arrived later than they said they would for setup which really stressed my mom out (she stresses about those things), I haven't had a chance to chat with Shelby but I heard from multiple guest that the traffic was gnarly so I'm guessing that is why.
Despite the late arrival they had dinner and apps up and ready to go on time so I was fine with it. Only wish my mom wouldn't have had to stress about it. Shelby and her team come highly recommended! I just came from a party catered by Foodz, and, the food was remarkably tasty, delicious, beautifully presented. if you want your guests to talk about how good the food is, I 5-star recommend Foodz. There were several staffers at this event, and they all were unobtrusive and seemed - remember, I was a guest - totally professional.

Acalia was fabulous! We had our wedding and reception here in February. There were a few sanfus, one including miscommunication about how many actual people would seat comfortably inside the venue, leaving me to make last minute phone calls confirming people. However, they were extremely flexible and accommodating toward our needs, or whatever we wanted.
They took care of absolutely everything! Included in our rental fee were chairs, tables, linens, dishes, drinkware, and silverware. They have on-site catering and the food was delicious! Everyone raved about our appetizers! They also provided us with a Beer/Wine package that allowed us to choose two reds, two whites, and two beers. whatever we wanted.
They ordered a decorative piece that we realized last minute that we needed. Although our indoor wedding of 71 people worked out well, I would definitely recommend this venue if you have a bit smaller wedding or would like to use their outdoor area for a spring or summer wedding. Or if you're just looking for a fabulous caterer, then you have to call them! Bonus: They packed us a "To-Go" box for our wedding night which included portions from our meal, two slices of cake, two plastic champagne glasses, and a small bottle of champagne. They also followed up after the wedding with a thank you card. Awesome!

I can't believe that I haven't written a review for Foodz Catering and Acalia Events yet. We held our August 2008 wedding at Acalia Events space on Queen Anne Avenue, and used their in house catering, Foodz Catering, for our food. I couldn't be happier with how our wedding turned out, and a big part of that is because of Shelby and the staff at Foodz and Acalia.
The space is not huge, but was the perfect size for our guest list of 75 people. It is not a big empty room, as so many other venues are, and I love the flow that the space created. Shelby was wonderful to work with, and helped us create a menu for our guests that, while unconventional for a wedding, was a hit with all of our guests. We wanted a taco bar buffet, and she turned out a spread that even my Texas-native husband couldn't find fault with. I have no intentions of ever getting married again, but if I did, I would do again in a minute with Foodz and Acalia.
