I'm Chef Chris Casner and I have been in the food service business for over 15 years. I started my career as a dishwasher, and quickly learned that I wanted to move into working with food like "the other guys". I was always interested in how things were created, and food is no exception. I quickly moved up the ranks from dishwasher, to prep cook, to line cook. My skills were able to take me to multiple upscale restaurants in the Raleigh, NC area, which is where I grew up. I learned valuable lessons while working with top notch Chefs, and gained experience and knowledge to enhance my skills. I attended Johnson and Wales University in Charleston, SC, and graduated in 1994 with a degree in Culinary Arts. There was no turning back at that moment, as I knew I had just taken the next step in my lifelong journey with this career.
Since graduating from JWU, I have held Executive Chef positions with several high end establishments in and around Raleigh, NC and Charleston, SC. During this time, I realized that my passion lay with personal chef catering, and teaching. I get enjoyment out of "taking the heat" off of others, and allowing them to enjoy their free time, while I create their event's meal. I love being able to teach others to prepare meals for their friends and family, as being able to cook is an invaluable skill. I'm a true believer in the old proverb "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime". I can teach you to cook that fish.

We had intended to use Just Eat This Catering for our wedding, but ended up having to go a different route due to unexpected circumstances. But the professionalism and communication of the owner, Chris, is so wonderful. Chris helped us curate a menu to work within our (original) budget, answered all of our many, many questions, and was extremely understanding with the circumstances that arose over the past few months with us. I highly recommend working with Chris for this alone!

The food was wonderful, not a misstep in any course! Lots of yumms and eye rolls as family tasted the dishes. All I had to do was get out of the way in my kitchen and Chef Chris and his assistant handled the rest.the shopping, the cooking, serving, and the cleanup. It was perfect! We used Just Eat This for our wedding. The food at our wedding was important to me and they didn't miss a beat. Everything was amazing. Even guests were taking about the food after wedding saying how great it was! Definitely recommend the Braised Short Ribs however it was all amazing! Thanks again for being great to work with!

Chris and his wonderful wife were absolutely lifesavers for our recent rehearsal dinner. The wedding had been postponed from 2020 and we so wanted the weekend to be fairytale for the bride and groom. Not knowing if the rescheduled wedding was "for sure" going to happen, due to COVID restrictions, until about a month out from the event we were unable to locate a restaurant willing to seat an entire wedding rehearsal party.
After researching options I decided it would be fun and relaxing to have a food truck cater and treat it as a picnic. I ordered picnic blankets and had Chris come to us with his food truck. The food was perfect with burgers, chicken sandwiches, fried pickles (a favorite of the bride), fries and tots. From my first communication with Chris, I knew I had a winner.
Planning it from another state could have been stressful but he was GREAT! Those attending had such a good time and said it was the most relaxed and fun rehearsal they had ever attended. They were impressed with the food. Future Bride's, I highly recommend Just Eat This if you want stress free food planning. And Chris's food truck if you want something fun and different for your rehearsal dinner.

I cannot rave enough about Just Eat This! The food they catered at our wedding was AMAZING! Everyone couldn't stop talking about it. We had fried chicken, pulled pork & various sides. it was truly one of the best meals. As a wedding photographer myself I'm frequently disappointed with meals at weddings, but our meal was out of this world. They accommodated our request of a chocolate bowl with mousse and fresh fruit as dessert since we aren't big cake people. It was better than I ever imagined! I couldn't recommend them enough. Thank you guys so so much for providing the BEST meal to our family and friends on our big day:

Just Eat This! was located at our neighborhood pool for our weekly Food Truck Thursdays. I checked out the menu beforehand, and my husband decided to order because the menu items sounded delicious. They also had great reviews on Yelp, so we thought why not? It was super easy to order as well. Street Food Finder is an awesome tool to order from any food truck on certain times/days depending on location.
We ordered a few minutes before 6 since we were really hungry (hours tonight were 6-8 pm). The website kept me updated on when the food would be ready - I received a text as soon as the food was ready. I had a Jalapenos Bacon Burger with tator tots, my husband had the Ultimate Buffalo Chicken with Fried Pickles. Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious! We were very happy with our order, and hope that they come back soon. Unfortunately, we were so hungry that I didn't get a picture of the food!

Wow! Y'all for 11.50 I got a double burger with HAND CUT fries, yes I'm boujie, when it comes to potato's and these fries are legit! Not over salted, but just right! I never normally order a double burger but now that I have a food loving babe, I have to share and I normally don't! Lol! My son got some of a patty, bread, and yummy fries, I even let him have ketchup for the first time!
I ordered the BBQ burger and my husband got the Jalapeno one! Both delish! Would totally order again! Also, I'm almost 100 percent sure it's just the entire fam in on this truck, how cool! Support y'all! Eat food and feel good all over!

Can not emphasize enough how much we recommend hiring Chris and Just Eat This! We hosted an event of 50 guests, and Chris worked with us to make every detail perfect and easy. He made cucumber topped w/ salmon mousse, coconut shrimp w/ thai chili sauce, chicken & waffle bites, fried green tomatoes, beef tenderloin sliders and honestly the biggest and most gorgeous cheese and charcuterie board I have ever seen. We had more than enough food, got lots of compliments and Chris even provided all the servingware and disposables. Definitely hire them for your event!

Chris was wonderful - we asked him to create a meal for my parent's anniversary - intimate dinner with just immediate family - and he did not disappoint. The request came last minute with several dietary restrictions for one guest and Chris was gracious, open to feedback, and patient the entire way, from menu planning to prep and execution to clean up. Chef Chris created a dinner in our sparsely accommodated rental home kitchen for a bachelorette party with 16 ladies. The Chef worked with me to create a menu and avoid dietary restrictions within the group, and everything turned out absolutely perfect. He created exactly what we were looking for (a casual Southern type fair at the house) and didn't make any fuss when we our timeline ended up a bit behind. The price was also very reasonable based on my research of similar services in the area. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to cater an event.

I recently helped plan a bachelorette weekend in Charleston and thought it would be fun to have a private chef one evening and Chef Chris did not disappoint! We had 13 people total and everyone had a blast! We had multiple appetizers and Chef paced them leaving the kitchen perfectly so everyone could mingle and eat and drink leisurely before dinner was served. The food was delicious and the girls were still talking about it days later. I would highly recommend Chef Chris if you are looking for a private chef in Charleston.

Just Eat This! Food Truck visited our office today and unfortunately I didn't bring my lunch today. The menu for J.E.T. looked really good and I was craving some spice in my life so I ordered the Buffalo Chicken sandwich with fries; I wish I had gotten the fried pickles as my side, they looked delicious. The sandwich was really good and feeling, I just wished that it packed more heat on the Buffalo side of things. Fries were good, and they had vinegar for them.

I coordinated with Chef Chris of Just Eat This! to provide a private chef service for a bachelorette party I planned in Charleston in July 2017. He was very responsive throughout the planning process and was very fairly priced - much less than what we would have spent going out for a similar quality dinner in Charleston! There were twelve girls (including one vegetarian) and Chef Chris did a wonderful job of preparing, plating and cleaning up the three different (and delicious) courses which included the following: Appetizers: Fried Chicken & Waffles Pimento cheese dip Entree: Sliced beef tenderloin Brussels sprouts Mashed potatoes Roasted vegetables for the one vegetarian Dessert: Southern peach cobbler with ice cream Chef Chris was faced with cooking in a very small kitchen in the house we had rented and the air conditioning went out right before he arrived.
Despite these challenges he was extremely gracious and it was a seamlessly executed meal. I would highly recommend Chef Chris for any dinner event needs in the Charleston area.

Presentation was good and food was good but nothing amazing. We asked for him to make his most popular dishes and I honestly felt like he chose the easiest/cheapest. Veggies with a balsamic dip, hummus with pita and spinach artichoke dip with bread. To me, those are very simple easy things I could have made. Tuna sashimi was fresh but no sauce and plainly put on a cracker. Ham on biscuits with a sweet jelly, and fried green tomatoes. Again the food was good but certainly not worth 50/person

I had Just Eat This! at the Nexton Piccolo Spoleto event, and it was amazing. I ordered the Jet Double Burger, with fries, and it was cooked to perfection. The caramelized onions were spot on. Be warned - it is a lot of food. You'll walk away with a very full belly, but it's so worth it. If you like food trucks and crave a good burger, I don't think you can beat the Jet double burger.

We used Chef Chris for our bachelorette weekend while staying on the isle of palms! Because I was booking from out of town I was a little nervous about the experience, but I must say I was extremely impressed with Chris and his assistant. They showed up to our home on time and had the food ready exactly one hour post arrival. He was able to cater to the variety of different tastes and allergies in our group and the food was wonderful, though he was a little quite and didn't interact too much with the group (though we are a loud group and he had a lot going on).
The items we picked for our meal was the beef tenderloin (highly recommend), potatoes, goat cheese salad, and a granola style ice cream compote (wasn't as impressed with this). After the service they cleaned up the entire kitchen and left 13 women happy and full! For a great meal Chef Chris was wonderful!

You know how every now and then, you come across food that's SO FREAKIN' YUMMY you keep thinking about it later? Yeah, that's what I experienced when I ate food from the Just Eat This! food truck. We hit them up at Saturday's food truck rodeo. Although the place was packed, my friend got food from Just Eat This! in a shorter amount of time than I did in another food truck's line.
By the time I finally caught up with her and got settled, the food from Just Eat This! was already cooled down. REGARDLESS that was some ridiculously good eating! She got the chicken & waffles and the poutine. She mentioned the gravy for the chicken & waffles cooled off pretty quick. All I know is that dish was delicious, with a surprisingly sweet but perfect flavor profile.
It was maybe one of the best chicken & waffles I've ever eaten. Definitely the best I've had in a while. Now the real star though was that poutine. I've eaten authentic poutine while in Canada a few years back. If any place in Charleston serves poutine, I want to try! I tried the Southern General's, which people seem to like, but thought it was just okay.
The poutine from Just Eat This!. oh my. dangerously, sinfully, amazingly delicious. Beef short rib, french fries that you can tell were fresh, cheese curds, gravy. so much goodness. Even cold I couldn't help going back for another bite while half of another truck's dish sat untouched. VERY impressed with the two items we tried from this food truck and I really look forward to trying more of their menu BUT I'm definitely getting their poutine again. YUMMMMMMMMMMM!

We had the food truck for a holiday party we hosted at our house yesterday for 50 people. From the initial contact until the very end, it was nothing but pure pleasure to work with Chris. He was so responsive and on top of everything. The food was out of this world, best comfort food, really high quality. Everyone was so impressed. It's true: Just eat this! Chef Chris did an unbelievable job on an in home catering job that I hired him for this past weekend in Folly Beach. I was organizing an out of town Bachelorette party for a group of young women on a "night in" and couldn't have been more pleased. Chris had provided me with a contract and lots of help on a menu choice months prior to our event.

Chris' service and food was so awesome, I feel compelled to write a review from the table as I sit here fat, full and very happy! There was even way more food than we had ever expected and the quality was just incredible. We are in from New York celebrating my friends' bachelorette wknd in Folly Beach and this was just SUCH an amazing addition to our weekend.
We rented a great house, had Chris come and cook for us and we sat, drank wine and enjoyed each other, all while being served tons of delicious food! I would highly recommend this for anybody staying in Folly Beach, big parties or small-this is a great night in at an awesome price. So enjoyable! THANK YOU CHRIS!
