Chez Hay Catering

We just had Chez Hay cater our daughter's College Graduation gathering. Sean was amazing to work with. We had an unique menu and Sean and his staff worked with our vision and kept the price reasonable. The complements on the food were abundant and the food was plentiful. We'll definitely use Chez Hay again!

Beautiful place! The Brick is Gorgeous. Very Elegant. The reason for the minus star. In the beginning of the party - the staff was not at the bar, they continued to roam around. One was outside smoking, and sitting with a guy that was trying to get money from people and claimed her as his wife and that they didn't have any money - but they had enough money for cigerettes.

And the plates to eat off of were the size of my hand. People were going back for seconds because there was no room to put much food on their plates. It was the size of a "dessert" plate.

Loved having my June 2018 Wedding here! The space is so beautiful - really speaks for itself allowing us to not have to over do with the decor. I was an out of state bride (Lincoln though is Home) and working with Starr, mostly virtually, was so easy. Then when I was in town she always allowed me to visit so we could plan decor. I ended up doing my ceremony in the same space and the team was amazing re-staging for the reception.

The food was good, the staff was nice and again the space is just so pretty-- and a great location especially having a lot of out of town guests. Close to hotels and bars/restaurants for guests to enjoy during their visit. The minor things are there are some dings on the walls and some of the carpet is worn and threads coming loose but again over all I had a great experience and so did my guests!

We used Chez Hay for business purposes and we were wowed on every level. The prompt courteous communication, the professional and quick communication between the event staff, the most important - food - was. more than amazing. We were able to "wow" our guests by using Chez Hay. I highly recommend them for any of your catering needs! We have found our "go to" catering company! Thank you so much Chez Hay for taking such great care of us!

Star and Sean are so awesome to work with. They were able to execute a complicated catering project for me without killing me. Their positive attitude and desire for excellence makes them my top choice for caterers in Lincoln. And, the food is fantastic and beautifully creative!

I've been working with Chez Hay for several years. I recently had a art show in space. Amazing communication! Working with the staff was great. My photography show was based on my trip to Cuba. Chez Hay made a cuba theme for the guest and it was perfect. I would highly recommend them for any event needs. Corey

Food didn't come out on time and was cold. Staff was rude and yelled at guests. microphone didn't work. walls had big patches from holes made and was nasty to look at. Needed projector for a presentation and it didn't work. For $60 a plate I would have rather ate at a nice steak house. Very disrespectful and distasteful.

I've been at Chez Hay for company parties, wedding receptions and fundraisers. Every time I have been here I've had an exceptional experience! Sean and Starr have a great place with delicious food, friendly. staff and a clean venue! Sean and Starr are extremely accommodating and very professional! I'd recommend Chez Hay to anyone who has an upcoming event!

Had Chez Hay cater an offsite event, and had a great experience. Food delivery and clean up ran like clockwork, and everything looked great. My guests gave nothing but compliments on the food! Highly recommend using them for your next event!

We had our wedding at Chez Hay on April 2nd 2016. (Sorry Starr for my late review! I feel awful! You did an amazing job, I am just the post wedding procrastinator here, lol!) Chez Hay is a beautiful place for a wedding! The large windows and exposed brick creates a warm atmosphere. Starr is the best to work with! Starr, you ROCK and have a great business going on there :) The food is OUTSTANDING!

I recently attended a wedding at Chez Hay Catering's event space in downtown Lincoln. The space itself was clean and modern. Being on the second floor, there are nice views of the street life below. The wedding I attended was pretty intimate, with about 40 guests. Chez Hay's space was perfect for a group this size. The staff set up and broke down the space with ease, transforming it from wedding chapel to buffet to dance floor, all the while the bartender kept the drinks flowing.

The food itself was great -- spinach salad, potatoes, green beans, and mixed vegetable with tofu -- all vegan. For the meat eaters, there was a roast and turkey breast to chomp on as an entree. All in all, I really enjoyed my time at Chez Hay. Definitely a great option if you're looking to throw a private event, catering included, in Lincoln.

Just had a Christmas party here (wife's work). Our party was small (30-40ppl). The appetizers were all great, and there were plenty on the appetizer bar. They seemed understaffed for us though. Two people is all I saw. The bartender was borderline bad. I had to repeat my single drink order every time I ordered one. I don't think it's hard to remember Crown & Diet in the 4 seconds it takes to turn around and grab the bottle. LOL!

He also would run off to help the other person with dishes (I assume) every time there want someone at the bar. This caused us to pile up waiting for 5min for him to come back. Besides the staff issues, it was overall a nice space and good food. I wouldn't hesitate to have a gathering there.

My wife and I recently had our wedding reception at Chez Hay and it was everything we dreamed it would be. Nicole was amazing to work with and she was very knowledgeable about every aspect of the event. Nicole made sure that we felt confident and comfortable with all of our choices for food, drink, and decor. We had many comments about how good the food was and the space was plenty big enough to accommodate all of our guests. Plus, the space is beautiful! Can't say enough good things about this venue.

I recently had my wedding and reception at Chez Hay and the experience was beyond amazing. Dana, Nicole, and Sean were so helpful and everything went perfectly. Communication was excellent, pricing was fantastic and the food was amazing! If you are looking for an amazing venue for a reception of any sorts, do yourself a favor and give them a call!

Their food has never been spectacular at the several University events I have attended that they catered. The chicken is so dry I never finish it and the sides are nothing spectacular. I ate so that I wouldn't be starved, but I have always been disappointed. Service is good, but the quality of food is not worth the cost per person. I have had much tastier and friendlier service from other caterers in Lincoln. You should definitely look into them first.

A year and half later and everyone is still ranting and raving about the food at my reception. It was absolutely wonderful! The space was beautiful, I love the lighting and the brick walls. There were some small details I would have changed the night of my wedding, but not enough to affect my rating.

I attended a reception hosted by Chez Hay. Everything was great except the mac and cheese suuuuccked. And they didn't clear any empty plates from the tables. Everything else was great!

The space is nice, good location. our problem was the staff seemed more interested in clearing the food away quickly before all the guests had time to enjoy an adequate meal. Lots of food we paid for was thrown out. Their current policy is you are not going to take any of it home no matter what you paid for it.

We had my younger brother's rehearsal dinner here last summer. It was a big night for our family with lots of out-of-town guests and last minute details. Our head count shifted throughout the day, the florist had a near disaster, my table decorations almost totally failed, but no matter how chaotic things got, the staff at Chez Hay was accommodating and gracious.

I think we ended up with 80 people that night and everything went off without a hitch. The food was really really tasty and the space itself was perfect---not too loud and spacious enough that all the little kids could run around without being in the way. Thank you so so much for helping make our family's big night so perfect!

We were extremely disappointed with this company. They did not deliver items that were promised and showed us photos but our event was not set up like those. They did not take responsibility for the mistakes that were made. They are not dependable or professional and I would not recommend them.

We have had Chez Hay cater a couple of events for us. The first was our wedding. Chez Hay did a great job of accommodating our requests, including coming up with their own version of a German dish, Currywurst. We recently had Chez Hay cater my husband's 40th birthday party. We ordered the 6 appetizer option for 14 people. Each and every item we ordered was absolutely delicious, and the best part--we have a ton of leftovers!

Our menu was: Currywurst (created especially for us by Chez Hay), Duck Skewers, Balsamic Brie Turnovers (These are sooo good!), Tofu with Coconut Red Curry Sauce (really yummy vegan/vegetarian dish), Roast beef sandwiches (beef was perfectly cooked medium rare), Saffron Shrimp with Raspberry BBQ Sauce (great saffron flavor!). Chez Hay are very easy to work with and Wendy has impeccable customer service skills. I would recommend Chez Hay to anyone that is looking to cater any type of event, but especially a wedding or high-end celebration.

I attended a wedding reception here this past weekend and I would give Chez Hay 4 stars for the space. The previous reviewer does a good job describing the place. It's cool and loft-y and I love the windows all around. However, if I had to give stars for the food, I would give it 1 star.at most. I don't know what to say, the food was really just not good!

The beef and pork roasts were really dry. I mean, the beef looked like a gray log! Everything was just very basic and uninteresting. They had a chocolate fountain, but there were only pretzels and animal crackers for dipping. No cookies, no pound cake, no berries, nothing. AND their bar has no Jager. What kind of "full" bar is this?! If you're planning an event here, I would suggest borrowing the space, but having it catered elsewhere. There HAS to be better food in Lincoln.

My husband and I chose the 'unconventional' wedding route when we got married. A year after having a very small, short ceremony here in Maryland, we headed over to Nebraska to celebrate with a large group of our friends and family that otherwise would not have been able to party with us had we decided to go with the traditional wedding. Enter Chez Hay, the catering company and banquet space located in downtown Lincoln.

We wanted a place that would still look awesome with minimal decoration, and this spot fit the bill. It's somewhat modern, with brick walls and hardwood floors, plenty of room to accommodate up to 260 people and a full service bar (woohoo!). Most of the employees were helpful when we came in early to set up, but the owner herself seemed a bit cold.

I don't know if she was having a bad day or what, but I don't remember hearing more than two words come out of her mouth the whole day we were there. In addition to using the banquet area, we took advantage of their catering services. The prices of the services are equivalent to any other company I've looked at, and the food was pretty good, however there seemed to be a small miscommunication on their part about how long the food was able to stay out for the guests.

The party started at 630, the food was set up by 7 and taken away by 9. I don't know about you all, but that seemed a bit short to me.the problem was they hadn't invested in any sort of warming or cooling trays to keep the eats at a certain temperature.and if they had, well, they certainly didn't use them at our party. I thought it was a bit ridiculous.people like to munch, you know?

And what kind of catering company doesn't put their food out on temp trays? UGH. Other than that, the bar service was fantastic, the bathrooms clean, and the location spectacular. I'd definitely use them again, if I needed a space to host a party.
