The Moveable Feast is a collection of talented and dedicated individuals who have a passion for creating memorable events "one event at a time!" It starts with our owner Dan Huntsbarger, a 39-year veteran of the food service industry and a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in New York. After refining his cooking skills at a number of great restaurants, Dan and his wife Carol opened their own restaurants. Both of their restaurants received high marks for creative food and great service. The catering division of Dan's company has been producing exceptional events since 1995.

We believe it is important to support the community in which we live and work. Over the years, The Moveable Feast's dinner auction packages have raised over $900,000 for various local charity organizations. The Moveable Feast has maintained a long-standing relationship with SASHA Farms animal rescue.
Our sales team members are experts in event planning. They custom build each proposal based on vision, budget, location, and expectations. All proposals are itemized and very transparent through the listing of specific offerings and associated costs. Your comments are used to fine-tune proposals making sure that your event is absolutely perfect.
Our food is made from scratch, pure and simple. Created from years of culinary training, all of our food is properly seasoned with layers of flavor the way great food should be. Each of our chefs possesses a true passion for cooking, and since we only do off-premise events, they are expertly trained at cooking with our fleet of specially designed kitchen trucks.
Our canapes, or one-bite savory foods, make for perfect tray passed appetizers. They can also be displayed as guests arrive with appetizer platters, and hot appetizers to create a spectacular reception. Our event planners will make suggestions to help round out your selections based on your preferences.

We used The Moveable Feast for our wedding in January 2021. Planning was easy with Sherry and she was very flexible with our pandemic planning. The food itself was absolutely amazing - definitely the best food I've ever had at a wedding, and I've had multiple guests reach out to me to not only compliment the food, but to ask who we used so that they can pass the info on to others looking for caterers.
We did the heavy appetizer option and felt that the pricing was unbeatable, and it was so hard to choose the foods because they all sounded so wonderful. We also used their desserts and everything was great; we especially loved the attention to detail on the sugar cookies. I also loved that "A Moveable Feast" is an Ernest Hemingway book, since we had a literary themed wedding, and visited Ernest Hemingway's home on our honeymoon! I would use The Moveable Feast over and over again.

The Moveable Feast Catering team has got to be the best catering team on the planet. I had a celebration of life gathering for my husband in my backyard. I had never hired a caterer before and or hosted an event of this size. Sherry and her team handled everything beautifully. I received so many compliments on the food, the staff, the layout, everything.
I had no idea where to start, but Sherry did. She drew up a floor plan, made helpful suggestions about planning, rentals, the menu. She was beyond gracious in every aspect of my event. One of the first questions she asked me: did my husband have any favorite foods that I would like incorporated into the menu? it was such a thoughtful suggestion and I was so moved. Sherry helped me navigate the many concerns COVID-19 raises with an event like this one.
The tables were physically distanced, plexiglass separated guests from the wonderful food and all the food and drinks were served by staff so guests weren't touching platters or bottles. The food was presented beautifully. There was such a great variety, from canapes to pulled pork sliders to a cheese platter. Smoked salmon, marinated flank steak and wings.
And those are just a few of the things offered. The dessert platter was inhaled by my guests. I didn't taste one thing I didn't love and want more of. I expected 70 guest and 120 showed up and there was easily enough for everyone. Nancy was the on-site manager and cross your fingers that you get her and her crew for your event. All were spectacular. Nancy managed everything and I was able to just relax, enjoy the food and my guests. Hire this company and you will thank your lucky stars you did. Promise.

Moveable Feast catered my wedding and truly made our day special. The manager was great to work with, she listened to what we wanted and added her expertise, which made the difficult process of planning a wedding that much less daunting. I felt like I was in good hands l throughout the planning process. The day of staff were also wonderful. The staff were very professional, kind and helpful. We also received many compliments from our guest on how delicious the food was. Thank you Moveable Feast!

The Moveable Feast catered our wedding this past Saturday and we could not be more happy with their service and expertise. Our guests absolutely loved how they made sure everyone was taken care of. All of our staff and supervisors went above and beyond to make sure the night was special. If I could give them 6 stars I would. The absolute best there is!

The Moveable Feast was absolutely amazing to work with. They were incredibly flexible and accommodating; they traveled an hour to our venue on multiple occasions to figure out how to make a plated dinner work for us (the venue did not have an on-site kitchen). On the day of our wedding, the catering manager was so kind and attentive, and really made us feel special.
And the food is out of this world! We had guests approach us all night long raving about both the appetizers and plated meals. Thank you-Sherry, Dan, and your whole team--for being so kind and providing such great service. I hope to have the opportunity to work with Moveable Feast on another catered function soon!

Our experience with Moveable Feast was exceptional from start to finish. Misty's expertise, responsiveness and attention to detail alleviated so much stress from the wedding-planning process; she was a delight to work with. The rest of the staff was also wonderful. On the day of our outdoor wedding we received a decent amount of rain and the staff worked diligently through it (and also helped keep our tent from flying away)!
A few more highlights below: We requested a breakfast-for-dinner menu -Misty gave us many options to choose from with respect of our budget The tasting gave us an accurate preview of the quality food provided by MF and the opportunity to discuss minor adjustments as we tried the menu. The MF team was flexible and happy to accommodate our preferences (at the tasting, and even a few weeks before the event when we added to the menu).
The breadth of catering equipment offerings was incredibly convenient. Everything provided, including the cocktail-hour appetizers, was outstanding. We had many guests tell us how much they loved the food. Misty's knowledge of local vendors for other wedding services was a tremendous help. Plates were made and brought to us (bride and groom) at the reception. So glad we selected The Moveable Feast for our wedding!

Very professional catering with amazing food. their service is spectacular; the owner Dan is really understanding and willing to work with you on whatever event you might need. this company catered my wedding and is by far the best catering company I know of in the Southeast Michigan region. If you're struggling to choose a place that you'd like to cater your event, I feel like this is your best option!
Know that they can do a spectacular job for you! They put my mind at ease during some very stressful planning. I personally chose to have buffet style at our wedding, but they also do fully plated meals and offer linens services and some decorations if needed!

I am a wedding planner and my clients hired Moveable Feast for their estate wedding. Sherry was the 1st person that I had interaction with and she was so helpful and open to any suggestions that we made. She replied to my phone messages and emails in a timely manner. We had appetizers, bar w/two signature drinks, dessert & 4 food stations (2 being action) The food and service was a hit! All staff were super friendly and accommodating to any request we had. Michelle managed the staff superbly.
