Main Street Cafe and Catering is located at 117 W Main Street in Historic Jonesborough Tennessee. The building was constructed in the 1930's with original ceiling tiles, hanging globe lamps, and booths from the same era. Herman and Beverly Jenkins started the cafe in 1982, and after 30 years of hard work, they sold the business to their son, Zac, in May of 2015.
Zac and his wife, Kati, have successfully run the cafe since then while continuing to build on its legacy. They have kept plenty of Main Street favorites and have added lots of unique dinner specials you'll only be able to find in Jonesborough.

First time in Jonesborough. Glad we picked this place to eat. They provide great service. You can really tell they aim to please. Fred (the manager) is really good at his job. I thought he may be the owner. Friendly guy. My husband is really picky about his Reuben sandwiches (I had a few bites) it was really was delicious. I enjoyed my grilled cheese sandwich with the tomato bisque.

Downtown Jonesborough! A great place for a meal in the Oldest Town in Tennessee. Quaint, original ceiling, original lighting, and some really great food! Everything is homemade from tea & Coffee to the soups, salads, wonderful burgers and fries, loaded sandwiches AND YUMMY desserts! The fresh homemade (pies, cookies, cakes) desserts and delicious ice cream are in coolers as you come in the door! WOW our mouth starts watering upon entering the Cafe. Staff is friendly, happy to serve you they will make sure your tummy is full and you leave with a big smile! They serve wine and craft beer.

Might not look like much, but the food was excellent, prices were reasonable, and the staff was friendly and efficient. We sat in the back, socially distanced, after ordering at the counter. Masks were on us, other customers, and the staff. One friend raved about the BLT with Thousand Island dressing instead of mayonnaise. She was skeptical when she ordered.
Now she'll not eat them any other way. Other friend had grilled chicken sandwich, and she raved about it. Husband had the burger, which pleased him immensely. All 3 had a a bag of chips on the side. Due to tooth problems, I had soup. The white bean and ham was so good I don't think I'll enjoy it out of a can ever again. The atmosphere was lovely. We were able to eat leisurely and talk without yelling. Bathrooms were small and had what we needed. Desserts looked heavenly (coconut cream and chocolate cream pie slices), but we were comfortably full.

Very good cafe. Atmosphere is wonderful in the old building. Food was excellent. I had a chicken sandwich and my wife had quiche. Birth were good. The coconut cream pie was fabulous. A bit disappointing to see the staff still wearing masks. Serves no purpose and makes it hard to understand them. Superstitious thinking needs to go away.
