Thank you for visiting Denise's Homeplate. Denise's Home Plate is located in the Wasatch back mountains in Coalville, UT. After over 33 years in business I feel that there are many things that make us unique! First of all our little restaurant is in a converted old home, one of the first in Coalville when it was in its original state.Second, all of the food we serve is made from scratch from the soups and homemade rolls, daily specials desserts, to our 1/3 lb hamburgers on homemade buns. Finally, don't come in expecting fancy.

All of our food is made from scratch, from the hand tenderized, rolled and breaded cordon bleu to the hand rolled pie crust loaded with cream filling that is made with 15 egg yolks and topped with fresh whipped cream. 30 plus years ago a high school friend asked me to cater some appetizers and a cake for her wedding.
We guarantee our made from scratch food and paper plate with a smile style will keep you coming back!. All grill items come with your choice of french fries, sweet potato fries, cottage fries, salad or onion rings. Boneless tenderized chicken breast grilled and topped with grilled colored peppers and onions, ham slices, pineapple slices, our own spicy Hawaiian sauce and provolone cheese.
We will do anything that is possible for your event to be just as you dream. From sit down with linens and china service to outdoor barbecue with a western theme. We pride ourselves in quality of taste as well as beautiful buffets arranged and served with pride. We love what we do and believe that it reflects in our service.

This little restaurant is a gem tucked away in this small town. We stop for lunch here anytime we are returning from Salt Lake City. The homey atmosphere and exceptional food do not disappoint. Fries are amazing. Good ole homemade hamburgers - YUM! And did I mention the outstanding salsa? You could drink that stuff. We always chose a different item to try and we have yet to be disappointed. If you haven't been here yet - plan to stop by - it is so worth it.

Got off the freeway to try this place since the reviews were so good. Let's just say I should have kept driving. Service was ok. we felt like we had to whisper when there, it seemed like everyone is listening to everyone's conversations. Really weird. The place was pretty clean, but the food was a total let down. I mean, my burger literally exploded when I picked it up, because the bun was so dry.
It seemed stale and old?. The tomatoes were mushy, the meat was super salty and I just threw it away. Onion rings were premade. I can't imagine how they got such good reviews.

This is a very cute little place however the food wasn't amazing. I order the chicken teriyaki stack and fries but when it came out I was disappointed. I got a huge thing of provolone topped over dry chicken and the onions and mushrooms stuffed under. The only thing I enjoyed were the fries and the shake. The service was ok. You can here all the gossip that is said and my boyfriend had to rind the bell twice for someone to come up. I've heard the catering is good but improvement could be put towards the actual place.

We were spending the night in Coalville and restaurants are very limited, especially close to 8 pm. We decided to try this place and we are happy we did. Think homemade, good food. I really loved the cottage fries - and they served them with "fry sauce" (Mayo + ketchup in Utah). Italian Chili was delicious, too! Especially loved the blue cheese that came with the side salad.

We are so glad we found this place! Great food, prices, and atmosphere. It has a cozy hometown feel and really seemed like the workers knew most of the people picking up food. If you are in the area due yourse a favor and try this place out. Be sure to get fries with your order because they are awesome.
