Marujyu Market Catering Because we know that people make special trips over from the neighbor islands just for our pulehu tako. That's saying something. A customer came in and told us that we could never change our squid luau recipe. Turns out that he told his party guest that it was his own special recipe. Now they put it on their request list for him to bring to the next potluck!

Hey, even the guys next door in the other food places come over to eat at Marujyu Market! You know we serve good food here, so come by our new location in the Newtown Business Park at 98-820 Moanalua Road, right across the street from Waimalu Elementary.
Services
Here at Marujyu Market Catering we receive many compliments about how good our traditional Hawaiian luau food is. Our recipes have been based on old family recipes the way Grandpa and Grandma used to do it and on Uncle and Aunty's specialties that we always asked for when ever the Ohana had a luau or get together.
When you show up at pau hana time with some poke and pupu from Marujyu Market, people get excited. They're going to remember that you were the one who brought the good stuff! Here at Marujyu we use the freshest ingredients, give generous portions, and add the extras to make every one of our many varieties of poke delicious and memorable.
If you're ono for some real local food, Marujyu Market is the place for you. Choose from combo plates with one, two or three choices. All combo plate lunches come with two scoops of rice and one scoop of macaroni salad. You can also choose a mini plate. Great Fresh Poke, Cheap Hawaiian Plates. Great lasting LauLau. I recommend Spicy Ahi Shoyu for poke try it at least once What this business needs to do is add more categories to their Yelp list. They are only listed as caterers. When in fact they sell Poke, Plate Lunch, Hawaiian Plate and Also a la Carte. Second time here. Name is also hard to remember and spell, only remembered it because of the Pizza Hut Waimalu and then I had to Google maps to Zoom in.

If you try to do an online search on Poke or Hawaiian Plate Places in Aiea/Waimalu/Pearl City. This place does not show up at all on Google Search or Yelp. Shame cause that's what they sell.

Good little place for pick your choice plate lunches and poke. Daily specials and everyday menu items. Mac salad is not too bad here as they put imitation crab. Don't like places where they don't even do anything to their macs. Mochiko chicken was good not salty nor heavily sweet. Need to come when they 1st bring it out so the pieces of skin still crispy. Turkey Ala King was good as well. Not overly salty was perfect tasting. Never been and wanting hawaiian food or plate lunch or poke this your place

4/1/22 went to buy lunch and ordered a mini plate for my husband. omg! The mini plate was the size of a McDonald's container and it had 1 scoop rice. 1 scoopMac salad and 1 scoop of entree. Looks like a child portion and it cost. $9.95! Wouldn't be enough for a 5 yr old! I was shocked but said nothing. was gonna get the 2 choices but the lady said she already had the rice and salad in the take out container. guess she do t want to waste the container! Luckily we had some leftovers at home to eat.

I also bought I large spoon of salmon crab casserole that was about 4 bites and paid $6.59 and 1 small container of stuffing for $3.49. over $20 plus tax and still had to eat our leftovers at home. they used to be generous but now it's not worth the money! Taste of food was strange too. will never go back there again as felt was a rip-off!

I love squid luau, I am not sure what it is, but I find so much comfort in a good bowl of squid luau. Marujyu market's squid luau is incredible. Normally I'd get a plate with other items but today, all I wanted was squid luau and rice. The food all looked fresh and ready, but my focus was on what I wanted. The ladies working were super nice and I left a happy camper.

I've just recently started trying out marujyu market. They had down scale their store to just take out food and a poki counter. Small little puka in the wall with some ono food. If you too fast you'll miss them. The help is as good as the food. Supa friendly. I had the beef stew kalua salmon and curry stew so far. my favorite was the curry. Portions are decent the price is great. Gotta pound some poki. bring extra cuz the fish not cheap. Ono and hey you get what you pay for. so try um out. always good to support these mom and pops buisness.

I'm honestly really sad to have to write this review because I've always loved this place being that I use to live right up the hill. However I have recently moved to the mainland and I was back home visiting when I went to Marujyu Market twice and the both times I ordered Dry Aku they took it in the back and brought me back cut up Dry Ahi.

I was thinking maybe the first time was a mistake so I went back and ordered again before leaving the island to take with me and when I checked it, it was Dry Ahi. I don't know what's going on but I probably will never go there again because you can't trust them.

Great place lunch spot! Ordered off the specials menu and got a combination! Meatloaf and beef stew it is! Comfort food at its finest! Super tender beef and veggies in the stew went very well over my generous portions of rice! And paired with the meatloaf was a food coma in the making! Wow! Huge, affordable plates that are guaranteed to put you to sleep! A must try! The people working here are always friendly and have a huge smile for you when you're ordering!

I had dinner from Marujyu Market last night. I ordered the Laulau and Chicken Long Rice plate with one scoop of rice and a side of poi. I also had a side of spicy ahi poke. The laulau was a bit on the bland side, but the chicken long rice was really good. I just wish the plate came with a bit more chicken long rice. The lomi salmon was also very good, but the poi was on the grainy side instead of being smooth in texture.

They had a ahi poke add on for $2.20, so so added on the spicy ahi poke. It was good, but not worth the price. It came in a little container with only three pieces. Overall the experience did not live up to expectations, but I'll probably try it again as it is difficult to find good Hawaiian food in the Pearl City area.

Very disappointed with my Hawaiian Food plate because food looked like someone just threw it in in my plate and Lomi salmon was all over the place. The Laulau was big I give um that, but the lau lau and Kalua pig was Way too salty to eat. For me to say that something wrong cause I love my Hawaiian Food and I can eat it everyday, but just not from here anymore. Sad.

The only thing was good was my poi and ahi poke which I drowned with the chili pepper water. Too bad the poki ova here so expensive. The food used to be good here I don't know what happened. Only two stars because only the poi and poke tasted edible.

Located in Aiea off Moanalua road they have a parking lot which is shared with other business. They are known for the very good and tasty pokes and Hawaiian plates, but today I went in to pick up some of their poke items. The fresh octopus poke is the way it was prepared with inamona (kuldip nut), limokohu (seaweed), octopus liver, hawaiian salt. Very good and tasty. Spicy ahi very good with just the right spicy Tako poke with ogo, onion, sesame oil, was very good and tasty.

Wife stopped into to pickup a few things heard a lot about this "hidden gem" that someone called it. I had the beef luau and spicy ahi and wife got the shoyu chicken. Chicken was very tasty, beef luau was bland and kind of oily. Spicy ahi was ok, but wasn't to spicy and seemed to have a sweetness to it so I added more sriracha for the kick I like. I understand every place is different so I still gave 3 stars! Oh and just these 3 things was like $36 bucks. whoa

I had the Hawaiian plate with the kalua pig, long rice, and lomi salmon. I like that they have lots of combinations of options, and that their plate lunches are reasonably priced. However the kalua was dry and didn't have the typical delicious smoky flavor. The lomi had no green onions, so it wasn't as flavorful or visually appealing as lomi salmon usually is. The only thing that was really good was the long rice, which was not mushy but more on the firm side.

Shockingly good lau lau. Lau lau that rivals the great Waiahole Poi Factory with a huge twist. Da buggah sta massive! Greater than 1lb, tender chunks of juicy pork butt, salt butterfish, the requisite chunk of meltingly smooth pork fat and layer after layer of luau leaves that eclipses the meager amount most places give. Perfectly seasoned. $5.25/each. Tip: order the lau lau cold. Steam to reheat at home for 45 minutes.

The fat will melt further and permeate all the leaves with porky goodness. Solid kalua pig. Well seasoned. Very moist with a good amount of residual fat and bits of pork skin. The only "problem" is the use of liquid smoke. All good, most places don't have their own smoker. Good tripe stew (very tender, clean tasting tripe in rich tomato broth), and baked shoyu chicken (fall apart tender, bone in chicken thighs, sweet soy and ginger throughout).

Various types of fresh ahi and tako poke simply seasoned with sea salt, limu, sesame, and soy; very good, still crunchy boiled peanuts, and not excessively sweet haupia round out the best offerings. Plates or ala carte by the pound offered. Extremely friendly, local service. ***** COVID-19 Apocalypse Considerations: - Manual doors that open OUT (pull to enter). - All employees are wearing masks and gloves. - Clear markings on the floor keep customers at least 6' from employees and the food. - Credit cards preferred but the cashier needs to swipe and signature required. - IMPORTANT - The interior space is small. Max two customers inside at any time to maintain social distancing.

OPEN FOR TAKEOUT! Got the hawaiian plate#1 and #3 both with poi of course! Laulau was huge! Love that its a good price too! They have a ton of hot food options. Make sure you check their website for the daily specials as it changes. Lots of poke options too. Plus boiled peanuts! I went specifically for hawaiian food though. And they did not disappoint!

Ordered a 2 choice plate lunch (beef stew and furikake chicken). Lady cuts one piece chicken thigh in 7 pieces and only puts 5 of the pieces in, and leaves 2 small pieces on the side. Not worth the $10. I usually come here when I'm in the area and they are usually generous. Never coming back here again.

Got the late text to get dinner. Big container kalua pig (perfect with cabbage and onions), lomi salmon, poke, poi and chili pepper water. Ten minutes and dinner is served! Ono boiled peanuts for football games too!

I have eaten here since I was teenager and I am now much older and the Hawaiian food has always been good, one of my favorites. (Cheap, plenty & good) Occasionally or shall I say one out of every eight visits I'll find hair in my food. It's normally in the long rice. Normally has plenty of parking, there is no tables for you to eat at it's to go place.

They have lots of selection of Hawaiian, local stew, chicken, meatloaf, etc, poke and fish. They have the best boiled peanuts on the island hands down and I've tried just about all, as long as it's fresh, I have had a spoiled bag it was slimy had to return it. Not the cleanest looking place, but normally good service.

I was finally able to get to Marujyu market. When I was around it, I was usually on the wrong side of the road but today was the day! I was finished punishing myself on the driving range and it's a couple of right turns away from Newtown driving range. Inside was nice and clean and I was surprised as I thought it was a market that sells the usual snacks etc but this was more like pupu and poke etc.

Nice service, nice selection of products including boiled peanuts, poke, beef stew etc. but the real reason I have been wanting to come is because of the lau lau. They are always near the top when it comes to lau lau. So I picked up 3 and went home to eat one. It's very neatly packed and the couple of carry bags were separated by cold and hot items.

I also got boils peanuts and tako poke. I was so excited to try this lau lau. Well the first thing is that it is an ok size. I remember reading that these were large but no. just ok normal size. I dug in and there was a huge piece of fat. Of course you want fat but this one was rather large, pure fat. I found the pork and the fish to be ok. The pork was not as tender as I would have liked.

The fish was stuck to the pork. The flavor was good. I think as of now, the king or queen is Helena's with Young's fish market a close second. My go to is Young's with their awesome lau lau. Big, flavorful, open and easy parking! As for Marujyu, this lau lau is good. The service is good. Nice place!

This is my go to place for the squid luau, kalua pork, chicken long rice and the raw squid poke. They all were excellent with the exception of the raw squid which got salty. Not sure if there's a new person making it but I no longer can eat it.

The best ever Hawaiian food with lots of choices to mix a variety of dishes. So reasonable in prices and extremely generous portions. Its my Hawaiian food stop. I'll even travel from Kapolei to go there.
