We had a reservation for 6. The service was not great. We waited for well over an hour after ordering to get dinner. The waitress told us no less than 3 times our horderves would be right out (1 order of poutine) took over 25 mins. We finally asked another server to get us another drink which we asked for and never got. The food was nothing special. Very disappointed after all the great reviews. Save your $$$.

Bauer's Catering truly went above and beyond for our wedding at Cuneo Mansion. They worked with us very closely to make sure the food package was exactly what we wanted and acknowledged that we had some dietary restrictions for some guests which was not a problem for them. Throughout the entire process Bauer's made us feel like we were family. On the wedding night, the appetizers and dinners were phenomenal.

Normally when you go to a wedding, you don't really remember the food. We STILL have guests talking about how great the food was. Bauer's even helped us get fresh donuts for a donut wall we had on display. Thank you again for an excellent experience and professional service!

Bauer's Catering was exceptional! I heard from a number of guests that this was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. Our entire experience working with Mary was wonderful- from the first meeting- to the last she was patient and professional. She spent extra explaining all the details from the menu to the presentation to the delivery.

She helped me be at ease that when the day came, I did not have to worry about any of the small details- she would have it covered. Their entire outfit was absolutely wonderful to work with and I would highly recommend hiring them if you are looking for a caterer- you get SO much more than just a caterer! Mary you were so great to work with- thank you so much for making our day so special! We owe a huge thank you to you and your entire team!

Can't say enough about Bauer catering! The food was delicious. The service was superb. Thank you for all you did to make our wedding a success! Everyone appreciated the friendly and efficient staff. We highly recommend Bauer catering.

My review of the Lehmann Mansion for our July 2015 wedding is the foundation for this review of Bauers Catering. (http://www.yelp.com/biz/lehmann-mansion-lake-villa) I was very happy overall with the service and quality of Bauers, and we were delighted with our wedding day/night at the Lehmann Mansion. A couple highlights: - Doreen and Eddie worked hard to accommodate my fiancee and I's many special requests, including our signature cocktail, specialty beer (which we imported from Wisconsin), late-night snacks, and appropriate modifications for children and pregnant guests - Doreen took care to ensure that the menu (cocktails, dinner and dessert) had options for our guests' various dietary needs - When the usual baker for Bauers' wedding cakes fell ill and wasn't able to provide our cake, Doreen seamlessly set us up with an alternative bakery which provided a delicious cake - The day of the event, there were snags with vendors (which I only found out about in the day following the wedding) along with a very ill-timed bout of rain. Luckily, none of this bothered me because Doreen and team handled everything superbly - A very nice touch was that the staff reserved us a special platter of our appetizers, so we could enjoy them once we sat down to dinner. otherwise I don't think I would have managed to try them! - Guests commented to us that they enjoyed the dinner and felt the portion sizes were really generous - The servers were all quite friendly to our guests, and in fact, many of them (and Eddie) were there with us (and actually seemed happy to be!) until the wee hours of the morning!

I cannot say enough about Bauer's catering! We used them for our July 2014 wedding at the Cuneo Mansion. Mary and Eddie are wonderful to work with and were extremely flexible and accommodating to help us make every detail the way we imagined it. They are absolute professionals with years of experience in catering, but also in the Cuneo space-- they shared many insights from past weddings they have done.

They allowed us to get into the space early to get things ready, let us do whatever ordering of courses/ dancing/ cake cutting we wanted, and allowed modifications to the menu options to get it just the way we wanted. The food at the wedding was outstanding. I still have people telling us how amazing the food was and that it was the best food they have ever had any catered event. I would recommend Bauer's to anyone for exceptional service and the best food I have ever had at a wedding.

We had our wedding at Cuneo Mansion this past weekend and I could not be more happy with our services from Bauers Catering! I had endless compliments about our food, specifically the beef tenderloin and fish, and also how great the service was. The servers were extremely professional. Mary really listened to us and met all of our (sometimes lofty) requests - she exceeded all of our expectations for our day.

They were able to transform the mansion into the absolute perfect wedding; so much so I wasn't even disappointed that it rained and we had to do most everything inside! I highly recommend Bauers catering for their scrumptious food, wonderful service, and attention to detail!

I would not use or recommend using Bauers catering. In fact, if you were my friends or family, I would go to great lengths to tell you to run naked through poison ivy before using them. We chose a site for our wedding and Bauers came with it. Mary was pleasant enough in the first meeting but as soon as the contract was signed she stopped returning calls and became rude at even the most basic questions.

But that's not the worst part. Fees and additions kept coming in on the contract and after the event they refused to give back the security deposit (after asking us to make a check for the final, full amount out to Eddie himself, not the company, at the end of the wedding. Should have been another warning sign). When pressed, they said we didn't tip their people enough.

Note that we had 20% tip built in to the contract AND their people put out tip jars (TACKY) even though we requested they didn't (we paid for the open bar). After no longer returning my calls, I walked in to their storefront. After being yelled at and threatened by both Eddie and Mary, I mentioned that my sister is a lawyer and all the sudden I had a check for the deposit they owed me. I don't care what the other reviews day in the positive. I've talked to far more who had the same experience I had. Please think twice.

Update: Day after our wedding at Cuneo Museum and Gardens, and I couldn't find one complaint about our food that was catered by Eddie Bauer. I'll have to admit that I was difficult with my selection and presentation as this was a multicultural wedding, but Eddie (owner) came through. Cuneo is an indescribable venue for any event and Bauer's is the only approved catering service, but I'll be first to say that they go hand in hand very well as they focus on even the finest of details. The quality, taste, and service is outstanding, and I would recommend Bauer's to everyone.

I would just like to reiterate the extremely negative post above. I will be posting a more elaborate and detailed review in the future, but for now this is what I have to say. All I can say is thank goodness I am not alone in my terrible feelings towards this company. Working with Bauer's Catering is a COMPLETE AND UTTER NIGHTMARE!. RUDE RUDE RUDE on the phone, and they basically hung up on my mother for asking a few simple questions.

You are spending more money here than you will at most places (especially because they will not give you a children's rate, only ten dollars off.will not budge a penny). They gave me a hard time about even asking to sign our contract because "she doesn't sign them, or she does when she gets to it." The rude comments and crazy inflexibility went on and on.

My wife refused to communicate with them for most of the year of planning because she could not emotionally handle it. NOTE: Beware of any positive postings before this past year as Bauer's took over only just recently. If you want to have your soon-to-be wife crying and extremely stressed out during your engagement because of the ill-mannered way her and her family is being treated, and you never want any attention given to you or any of your calls return, have your wedding at Cuneo.

This company is great. I got married at the Lehmann Mansion in 2007 and, from start to finish, I was thrilled. The food was fabulous and they were friendly and accommodating. 5 stars!
