Chef Expressions

Our venue recommended Chef's Expressions for our wedding and we could not have chosen a better caterer! Sarah was a delight and dream to work with-she was super down to earth, knowledgeable, friendly, organized and just the best. I really can't say enough wonderful things about Sarah-she went above and beyond what I would have expected for a caterer and doubled as wedding planner.

The food was also DELICIOUS and got multiple compliments from our wedding guests. Sarah and the Chef's Expression team were so attentive to my husband and I throughout the day, in addition to our family, and always made sure we had delicious food on our plate or tasty drink in our hands. The Chef's Expressions team were very accommodating and conscious when dealing with allergy and dietary restrictions as well. Would definitely recommend Chef's Expressions to any friends and family!

I cannot advise this strongly enough: DO NOT use Chef's Expressions to cater your wedding. I will summarize my experience without involving the extremely negative emotions I dealt with: -Did not provide adequate staff or appetizers to cater to the amount of guests at our wedding -We made a specific list of brands of alcohol we preferred (and paid for those brands) but the company did not provide (Coors light instead of Bud Light, Tito's instead of Grey Goose; it almost seemed like they just brought whatever they had in stock) and they ran out of alcohol at our wedding -Missing several services that were outlined (and paid for) in contract -Double-booked their "wedding planner, " Meghan, the same day for another wedding (she attended mine but I later read the review from the wedding on the same day stating that she was not available to coordinate anything for their wedding after promised) This is a short list of everything that went wrong in working with this company.

They overcharged and under-provided to the embarrassing point that our guests noticed. The owner promised us a check in the mail to reimburse for the services that were not provided; the check bounced. He asked that I did not leave a bad review if he sent another check. and as you can see me leaving this review, I am sure you have guessed that he never sent that check. My husband and I still (two years later) talk about how our wedding was perfect in every way except for the awfully disappointing catering service.

Micah, I cannot thank you enough for what you and your team did for us on Thursday. The food was spectacular, and the service that you provided getting the food out to our guests (when they descended like locusts!) was awesome. I really don't know if we could have pulled this off without the three of you. Tear down went beautifully, and the feedback I've gotten so far has been great and the leadership was thrilled with the event overall!

I continue to be amazed and thankful we went with Chef's Expressions for our upcoming wedding. In particular, when we were selecting a caterer, they took an hour out of their time (twice) to talk to both myself and fiance individually and go through all of our questions, talk about ideas, and get to know us. When we visited them at a wedding showcase shortly after- we knew we made the right close (as we previously loved in the Carolinas we couldn't get enough of the shrimp and grits). Again, Chef's Expressions was great at keeping in contact with us and letting us know what we should be expecting, or doing, and providing information and options for us.

We were probably most excited for the wedding tasting. I brought my parents with us and we were blown away by the customer service of Alicia, David, and the chef. I brought my parents with us and they were also impressed and couldn't stop talking about it. I felt so comfortable with them as they listened to our feedback and answered questions. The food was simply amazing and I can't wait for our guests to get to try the choices! Finally, we unfortunately had to postpone our wedding due to COVID. Chef's Expression was hands-down the best and most supportive vendor, even though I know this is a challenging time for them as well.

They were the first to reach out to us early on to check in and had great service as we worked with them to find a new date. I remain so glad to be able to work with Chef's Expressions and look forward to using them to celebrate our big day- from the great service to the amazing food!

Truly amazing experience! The food was absolutely delicious, the drinks were divine, and the service was like no other. As bride and groom the staff made sure our drinks were never empty and neither were our stomachs. I would have another event just so they could cater it again!

My Fiance and I were referred to Chef's Expressions from our Venue as they were on their "preferred catering" list. On our initial phone call with David, everything sounded great and he assured us that he could get within our budget of $80-85pp. After the first phone call, David never sent any of the information that he said he would. We waited around for weeks, sending several emails of inquiry before we finally called him and he picked up.

He apologized and claimed not to be receiving our emails. Okay, that's fine, I understand technology doesn't always work properly. He then finally sent us the proposal we had been asking for. It was almost twice the amount that we had initially spoken about. It was as if we never had an initial meeting. When we asked him about this, he said there wasn't anything he could do and that he "tried", but with "equipment, linens, transportation and staffing" there was nothing he could do.

He wasted weeks of our time when he could have been up front with all of the costs. Our wedding is going to be small, under 50 people. It seems like maybe Chef's Expressions didn't want to deal with an event so small so they added additional fees. It's that or they are deceptive with their prices for every event they cater. I would definitely skip them for your small events and make sure they are being upfront from the beginning about the costs.

My husband Steve and I used Chef's Expessions for our wedding in September and we couldn't have been more pleased. From the moment we met with Megan the very first time, we knew it would be a perfect fit. Megan was so great to work with as well as our day of coordinator Alex, and the rest of the staff that worked with us the day of. Everyone was so sweet and accommodating and seemed to really enjoy being a part of our day. Megan was absolutely amazing throughout the entire process.

I asked about a million questions and she answered all of them genuinely and never seemed annoyed or bothered. She helped to make our day so perfect and I'll forever be grateful to her for that. Megan and Alex made sure all of the details were sorted out and that the vision we wanted really came to life. The food was delicious and made quite an impression on us and our guests. I can't thank them enough and would absolutely recommend them to anyone who is looking for the best for their wedding day.

Chef's Expressions was the epitome of professionalism from our first point of contact through our anniversary event. The experience was first-class, and they delivered on all of our special requests. As foodies, the catering was going to be one of the most important parts of our event, and they far exceeded our expectations, delivering an extremely high level of quality at a great value.

The set up and take down were both on time and seamless. Micah and Alicia were amazing to work with. They promised we would enjoy our party without having to worry about a thing. and they were right! We would use them to cater our next event in a heartbeat.

Chef Expressions catered my wedding this past May and they did a fabulous job. Megan Cloman was wonderful to work with and everyone is still complimenting the food (even our uncle who is also a caterer!). Alicia Strawderman handled the logistics flawlessly. They walked me through the very-overwhelming process of planning a wedding (we had 120 guests and I did the planning) and found a way to accommodate all my special requests. I would absolutely work with them again!

Though we love good food, when it came down to it price & quality of service were our top priorities. And of course, that the caterer was on our venue's exclusive list. After going through a dozen caterers we narrowed our search which was a large part due to the wonderful service we received over the phone & then in person and there was the bonus of their food being delicious and personalized to us (I wanted Nigerian cuisine incorporated, as well as an overall carnival theme).

Though there was a bit of turnover, Alicia stepped in and was a pleasure to work with throughout the rest of the process. The only regret I have is not having our timing & guest list locked down before we signed our contract and not asking the costs of add-ons earlier. All in all, though, CE was a great part of our wedding even getting me the icecream I wanted to go with our pies(!) & our planner really appreciated having the help to coral our families and other day of tasks.

Chef's Expressions worked closely with my company to produce an elegant and successful (and customized) employee-recognition dinner marking 20 years of service. Jerry and Micah worked with us to design customized courses (with wine pairings) derived from our honoree's travel experiences. Will executed the dishes to perfection. Service was excellent, as well.
