We've been in contact with Jake and his assistant Erin for more than 2 years because of 3 Covid postponements of our daughter's wedding. They have a fairly extensive but not too overwhelming menu of a variety of appetizers and main courses, and they planned out the amounts perfectly. The food was fresh and very good; the guests raved about the appetizers we chose (crabmeat dip, baked brie, and oysters Rockefeller in particular).

They had ample servers who worked hard all evening to provide the best of service and keeping the areas picked up. We had a smaller gathering than what we originally planned for and were able to upgrade the dining experience for our guests to Prime Rib, Chesapeake Shrimp and Chicken Marsala-all dishes and sides were very good. They also provided the bar set up/service for the event, and the evening flowed very well. Jake and Erin made working with them easy and they were accommodating to our every wish. I am very pleased with the outcome of this dinner and food thereof, and would recommend RenChef highly.

I haved hired Renaissance Chef for my companies luncheons and breakfasts events over a period of 16 years and the service is attentive.the food selections are delicious and I always consider them 1st when needing a caterer.

RenChef did a spectacular job for our wedding just a few days ago. We were so impressed with the attention to detail, quality of the food, and seamless teamwork with the venue staff at Mountain Memories at ThorpeWood. They even asked us for our drink requests so they'd be ready waiting for us after our couple's pictures and then at our dinner table. Just wonderful staff and team. Made our wedding celebration a wonderful event. Would highly recommend!

We used Renaissance Chef for our wedding, and we have absolutely no regrets! They were really accommodating when we needed to postpone our wedding due to Covid. Our initial tasting was wonderful, plentiful, and informative. Everyone is so great. They kept checking on my husband and I on our wedding day. They provided us with bartenders as well. Everything was delicious and flawless!

Renaissance Chef catered my daughter's rehearsal dinner and provided hors d'oeuvres and dinner on the wedding day. The food was amazing! It tasted great, was always hot and ready when we needed it and served with a smile. Working with the team was easy from the tasting to boxing up left over food. They are good people who do good work. I highly recommend them.

Renaissance Chef is more than just delicious! They get what type of energy, attentiveness and personality is necessary for a wedding. The staff was AMAZING! I was one of the bridesmaids in a lovely friends wedding over the weekend. We were so lucky to be in the amazing hands of Renaissance Chef! The made sure our bride and groom were not bombarded by guests insisting on photos during dinner, she checked up on us when they noticed some confusion between the DJ and coordinator.

They were so quick to reset the sweetheart table when another guest accidentally knocked a glass vase off the it. They were so attentive to any and everything which made for an extremely fun night! They never broke character. I'm pretty sure they smiled the entire evening, even during clean up. You can tell they love what they do. I would highly recommend Renaissance Chef.

So much talking about the staff that I almost forgot about the food! The meat was tender, I went back for seconds and my husband for thirds! There was plenty for everyone and they organized the buffet in ammeter that didn't leave us waiting in line at all! They are exactly what any bride can wish for on their big day plus, they CAN dance! I may have another wedding just to hire them!

I'm writing this review many years too late, but it's deserved because the great food at our wedding was just brought up to me in conversation over a decade later. My wife and I used Renaissance Chef for our wedding at Strong Mansion on Sugarloaf Mountain years ago and people still talk about how great the food and chefs were! They were super easy to work with from the get go and were the last caterers we interviewed (we spoke to and sampled 8 different caterers).

We just felt at ease with them. It was a gut feeling we went with and they delivered to the moon and back on quality, price and service. They even bailed us out on a few items when our bartending company really dropped the ball. That they're still in business today looks to be a testament that they're still doing it right.

Another great event with food by Renaissance. Dee was delightful and left our facility as she found it. Love to work with this crew and their food is delicious!

One of my top priority's for my wedding was having great food for the guests and Renaissance Chef was perfect. We selected the "Family Style" catering and had the Chicken Parmesan and Salmon. Additionally, I gave a Peruvian family recipe and the chef was super accommodating and made it (perfectly) for the wedding day and we served it as a third entree choice.

The staff was all very professional, accommodating, knowledgeable, and helped make our day run perfectly smoothly. We are so thankful that they were also very accommodating to the many allergy safe requirements and adjustments we needed for different guests. I would recommend Renaissance Chef over and over again!

We had our wedding at Thorpewood in Thurmont and RenChef was a preferred vendor for catering. Picking the menu was super fun and laid back. Jake is amazing and his food is awesome! We did a family style serving which was so fun and perfect for our venue. We had the beef, chicken parm, and caprese tortellini. So ridiculously good. All guests were raving about the food! Steven ran the show on the day of.

His set up for our cocktail hour was beautiful. The staff was so helpful and really took care of all our guests. My husband's grandmother was hospitalized earlier in the day and was unable to attend and they packed up a plate of food and cupcakes to take home for her! Also just need to give a special shout out to Dee, one of the amazing wait staff! She was so professional and personable and made it her job to make sure that dinner went well. Thanks so much RenChef for the amazing job! Highly recommend!

We had a fantastic experience working with the team at Renaissance for our wedding. The prices were lower than the competition, the food was delicious, and they were incredibly flexible and helpful in planning our wedding. Thank you guys for everything!

Renaissance did a fantastic job at my wedding. They were very easy to work with and very helpful throughout the whole process. My personal favorite was the pistachio pesto farfalle but the guests raved about the teriyaki salmon--cooked to perfection.

Renaissance sponsored the Unity Campaign for Frederick County's Pack the Park at the Keys stadium and provided food for 700 people. It was delicious! During the game I could still hear people talking about how impressed they were with the food. If I need catering in the future, I will definitely be calling Renaissance.

Renaissance Chef just catered our wedding on 11/29/2014, and did a great job! We had heavy hours d'ouvres, including stations and passed food, and Renaissance Chef also provided bartending. I was very happy with the food, and several guests went out of their way to compliment the food and the service to me. They were easy to work with to build and price a menu within our budget range.

We got what we wanted and did not feel like we were getting upcharged for every little extra (plates, napkins, sodas, waters, coffee and tea service, etc.). Their staff made sure to bring food back to my wife and I during pictures so we could have some too. Everything was good, but their cream of crab soup, butternut squash soup, and mini crabcakes really stood out to me. Jake was easy to work with, and their staff was very professional and friendly. I'm new to Frederick, and this company was a great find!

I use this company for corporate catering needs. This is the most professional and best quality caterer I have used. The food is wonderful and fresh - never tastes commercial. They have a huge selection as well. Everything is very customizable which is very helpful. Presentation is always professional as well. I would definitely recommend this company for all your catering needs.

We had a deli-styled box lunch from them yesterday at a women's conference. It was tasty with well-filled turkey sandwiches using a thick-sliced wheat bread. The meal was presented in a nice brown box and included a green apple, bag of chips, and a home-made sugar cookie alongside the sandwich.

(09/10-9/11/2013) Had 2 days of continental breakfast and lunch for a work meeting. Location only uses Renaissance, we had no choice. Food was delivered in a timely fashion, delivery staff were friendly. Continental breaks was a variety of commercially mass-produced (like from Sysco) danishes, muffins, bagels, Yoplait yogurt cups, bottled juices, coffee. Luncheon sandwich and wrap platters had a nice variety (different breads and meats) of good quality and generous fillings.

Potato and pasta salads were not offensively flavored, not too salty and fresh-tasting. Dessert selections were as well some mass-produced products, but sugar sells well with most people. There were a variety of crowd-pleasing cookies, mini-cupcakes and petit fours. Might use them again if in the Frederick area, but in general, fairly pedestrian. Reasonably-priced.

I am so glad we chose Renaissance Chef Catering Company for our wedding reception in October! They were very accommodating and professional. They always responded to our questions right away and were able to work with our specific needs and budget. Plus the food was delicious! Our guests were all happy and well-fed!
