We've baked the same fresh bread in our ovens every four hours, every day since opening our first shop - then called Big Mike's Super Subs - on West Johnson Street over 30 years ago. In 2004, we began franchising and changed our name to Milio's Sandwiches. Today, more than 200 employees work at 21 franchise and company locations across Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa.
You can learn more about us from one big bite of a sandwich than you can from a thousand words. But since you're here and your sandwich is on its way, (you did order delivery, right?) here's what you 'KNEAD' to know. We're firm believers that the best sandwiches start with the best bread from our very own recipe.
Feeding a lot of people can get a little confusing. At Milio's we try to make it as simple as possible but here are some answers you might need. We request advance notice for most orders. However, if you find yourself in a pickle, call your local Milio's and we'll see what we can do! Find a Milio's store near you!
When you work at Milio's Sandwiches, whether you're a shift supervisor, general manager, delivery driver, counter crew or part of our corporate team, we value each and every individual - and encourage everyone to bring his or her skills and unique personality to the job every day! When creating our core values, we looked at what made us who we are and what has made us successful over the years. We succeed because we have employees who will do the right thing. They take care of the customer and take care of each other.

Fast service. That's where the praise ends The two #1 white bread ham and cheese sandwiches I ordered were less than stellar. Bread was great, crispy exterior and soft belly. But the guts inside were what one might expect to find in a place that's in war rations. I repeatedly had to recheck to confirm if there was even any ham in my ham and cheese.
The cheese wasn't. The nice green and crisp lettuce must've been the last in the store because it was as abundant as the grass clippings in lawnmower bag that recently mowed a lawn that didn't need mowed No onions And the razor thin tomato's were translucent enough I could used as tracing paper. The so called hot pepper relish, isn't remotely hot. It's mildly heated to whatever capsaicin level might qualify as being the lowest level before it can't be legally listed in a hot peppers qualification requirements.
Just a runny red vinegar with flecks of (I solemnly swear) must be red bell pepper flecks. And I am fairly certain they even charge extra for this sorry stuff. When will I learn to not bother with Milio's? Ages ago when this chain was Big Mike's it was the local hometown hero I think I was told when I was a Midwest newbie. Now there are so many legit sub style sand which options on the field, I can't grasp how they insist on diminishing quality to keep brand awareness. Fwiw the ONLY reason I think I return to this particular location, this wasn't my first time regretting my purchase, is because this store delivers at late hours.
I spend many an evening and night in the UW emergency room and or hospital, and getting food delivered at night, well as I said, the delivery service is better and faster than Jimmy John's commercials promise.

I love their food, and their delivery staff is always super-friendly. But. I just can't do it anymore. I've got a 1-hr window in which I can eat lunch in a loooong day, and if the delivery is going to take twice the stated time, that doesn't work for me. Good food and good service as long as you don't care when you get your food.

The hours are fabulous. Stingy with the avocado/guac. Heavy handed with the spinach. And, this matters because I ordered online: lite spinach. Drive thru saves this place but they desperately need more parking lot lighting. It's creepy, otherwise. App is streamlined and efficient enough. Hate all the silver mine subs are gone.

I'm sorry Milio's, but that's it. I'm fed up with your sub par subs! Where's the Meat?!? Where?! I'm eating bread and spinach. That's all I taste. This is happening at every Milio's I visit! I will no longer spend money at your franchise, anywhere. The bathroom at this Milio's is gross, stains on the toilet. The staff was efficient, but not friendly. No smile. No Thanks for stopping in.

Was looking for a quick bite to eat during lunch, and my friend found Milio's. A good local find! I ordered the chicken pesto Italiano with wheat bread. It was similar to Jimmy Johns, but it was a bit bigger and the bread wasn't as hard. I've never seen this option served at any other sandwich place, but it was really good! I loved it and I would definitely order from here again. Recommend for a cheap and quick bite to eat!

Used to like this grocery store more before the Kroger merger. Their produce is pretty good but prices have gone up in general and they do a poor job of keeping many items stocked. All too often what I'm looking for is sold out. Probably about two out of every five items I'm seeking on an average trip. Good deli staff though

I must be getting old as I still refer to Milio's as Big Mike's (the name before the switch). Yes, you can still get day old bread and I am still a fan of their subs (looking at you, longhorn!). Good bread, good toppings, good meat-what more do you want? The fact they are open until 3 am each night is also a huge plus for those nights where you are looking for a late night munch.

Milio's Sandwiches is the national chain of a sandwich shop for the local "Big Mike's Subs" that first started in Madison. They have simple, but tasty sandwiches (all cold, non-toasted) but they taste fresh and are very reasonably priced for their size. Service is fast and the bread is great. For those who are more concerned with price or size, they offer a "Skinny" version of each sandwich. The only draw back is that the menu is relatively limited, but what they do offer is tasty!

I LOVE Milio's. They're for sure my go to sub shop. The delivery range is kind of small so I've never been able to get delivery and can't attest to the speed of that. The pick up is always ready by the time I get there though. I can't remember a time where my order was messed up, but I can't say for certain it hasn't happened.
If it has, it hasn't been often enough or much of a hassle. I used to go to Jimmy John's all the time and thought of Milio's as the lesser version. Man was I wrong. The quality here is much better. I love the bread. The perfect amount of soft insides and hard crust. Occasionally the end is a little harder than I like, but it's not too often.
I really recommend getting the bread left in. I find not doing so to be a bit lacking. I can understand the other reviewer's complaints about it not being enough. They also give you plenty of guacamole! I always feel like other places are a rip off with the amount they give. Also try the cookies! I love the White Chocolate Chip Macadamia Nut. They're always soft and fresh.

I stopped at this Milios in downtown Madison for a quick supper. Ordered a milios classic for take away. I go home and half way through my sandwich realized there is no smoked ham in it ( as promised ). I called and the manager quickly apologized and offered the next sandwich free! How was the hamless sandwich? Apart from the subjective disappointment of a step down, it was a good turkey sandwich! Looking forward for a classic sandwich next time!
