Ghassan's restaurant came to existence in December 1975 at its 1st location on High Point Rd. Although we served a range of sandwiches such as the cold Italian sub, salads and shish-kabobs, we speedily became famous for our steak and cheese subs. We continuously kept up with our nice quality, and the restaurants have been remodeled many times since their conception.

Ghassan's is a classic from way back in Greensboro. We had the opportunity to eat there tonight but I was disappointed. The steak and cheese sub was not what it used to be. The bread wasn't toasted, cheese not even melted, and I'm not sure if the meat was really steak. Should've known when we first walked in and weren't greeted that things had changed for the worst. Two stars because my husband liked his Greek salad.

I had the gyro for the first time, cuz it's tough to find a legit gyro in the GBro. The toppings were fresh and great, but the pita wasn't high quality and overcooked. The meat was not freshly carved, but prepackaged gyro meat. So, the staples weren't top notch, but the toppings made it worth trying. I won't get the gyro again, but some of their subs looked up to par.

I've been eating at this particular Ghassan's for over 20 years. The staff is always nice and helpful and the place stays clean as it should. Due to the covid scare, they made a few changes that are impersonal so I've deducted a star from my rating. The food is still excellent and always fresh. Wish all eateries were at this level.

My first experience dining here was not that impressive. I had the chicken shawarma pita, za'atar fries, tabouli, falafel, & a baklava for dessert. The fries & the tabouli were my favorites. I had never eaten tabouli. I found it to be fresh & very tasty. The shawarma could have been more flavorful. It just tasted bland to me. The baklava was a bit dry. The cashier was nice enough but certainly not going above & beyond. I will return at some point to try other items.

There is little variety, and it is very slow. The place is very dark and cramped and the staff are quite surly. They don't seem to be engaged. When I asked about the menu they just ignored me and did not help me understand what I was ordering. They have tried too hard to incorporate food delivery apps which makes dining in a nightmare. They are too busy fulfilling orders for lazy people at home than the customers who want to experience the place in person.
To further prove my poknt half the seating is blocked off to make an area for deliveries. The food itself is mediocre. The food is very plain and there are not many sauces, and the portions are small. I was left hungry when I left spending 9 dollars for a meal. The place is not built for dining in and to allow delivery apps to clog the store. They need to focus on the people actually eating here. Mythos is just leagues better, the food is much more varied and has more flavor with bigger portions.

I love Ghassan's! I always place an order online (because of Covid times) and pick it up right away, and it's always hot and fresh. I love their vegetarian options. Their food is consistently high-quality and fresh. I can tell that, even though the food is fast, it is truly made with care and great ingredients. One of my favorite Greensboro staples!

I rarely hand out 5 stars! The Cornwalis location deserves at least 6! They are killing it. I placed a pretty big lunch order using the website and everything down to the extra sauces was perfect and ready to go when I arrived. The staff was pleasant and was maintaining great control over the folks who were waiting for orders and calling them in while I picked up.
We had the Falafel bites with tahini sauce. Two kids meals and two Chicken Kabob plates. The salads on each plates were fresh and green, the chicken as always was coooed to perfection. I cannot wait to eat the leftovers for dinner. Thank you Ghassan's!

I ordered the New Chicken Shawarma Pita and it was delicious, however I thought it would be a little more spicy In a mild or garlic way and it was not. The menu says: "shawarma spiced chicken, Lebanese pickles, radish sumac salad, toum (garlic sauce)." The chicken actually lacked a bit of seasoning but it had a good flavor. The pickles and radish were great.
The taboulli was nice and fresh & citrusy. I ordered a side of cucumber sauce but it was not as creamy as I would have liked it and the cucumbers were not diced small but at least the taste was good. :D

Ghassan's was the first Mediterranean restaurant that I can recall in Greensboro and for years had the best Steak and Cheese sub in town. They have recently expanded the Mediterranean choices making the overall menu healthier. Today I had my old fav the Steak and Cheese sub with Greek Salad. The sub was very good though it seems to be a little smaller than before. The salad was very good with fresh lettuce, feta, good tomatoes (especially for Winter), and just the right amount of dressing. Service is fast and friendly as always.

Try this place for the first time and the chicken shawarma was excellent. I ordered the gyro because I was scared to order something new and risk not enjoying it but my husband order the shawarma and it was so good that I ended up swapping with him. He's a good man for that and I will be back to order my own shawarma.

This was my first visit to Ghassan's and I was not impressed. Price too high for small portion of food. I got a steak and cheese with fries. It was more like steak and lettuce, I couldn't taste the cheese so I searched for it and found a small slice. The fries looked as if they were sitting under the heat lamp all weekend and had been re-fried for my Monday lunch. The service was rushed and not very friendly.

I don't live in Greensboro anymore, but I come back to visit it is always a treat to go to Ghassan's. and I make sure it go! My love of Ghassan's first started in high school when I would go to off-campus lunch from Grimsley to the Battleground location. I always get the steak and cheese, side of carrots, no chips or pickle. Now my parents live closer to the Cornwallis location, so I find myself there when I am in town.
The service is quick, and the staff usually greets me when I come in. The steak and cheese is always delicious - just the right amount of steak with cheese and good Mediterranean flavor. My mouth is watering right now thinking about it, and I am too far away to go to Ghassan's at this moment. tragedy. Until next time, Greensboro. until next time.

Food is ok (probably 4 star), but the experience is terrible(1 star). We ate here a few years ago and had a bad experience, but decided to give it another go. Pros -good/typical Greek food Cons -menu was incorrect/wrong -tables weren't clean -sauce comes with one platter but not another? Pita bread and kebab are dry with no sauce. -people not so helpful

I always enjoy a Ghassan's salad. This location is closest to my home so it's usually the one I go to. I've been eating here for years and I always get the same thing every time, the double chicken skewer with double salad, I just can't get away from it. The salad is pretty simple, a pile of lettuce topped with tomatoes & feta cheese with their house made dressing, which is really good, basically oil & vinegar with a bunch of herbs & spices in it, it's also sold in bottles to take home.
The chunks of chicken on a stick are always nice and tender and the warm pita bread that comes with it is just great. The only other thing I've tried from Ghassan's is their steak & cheese sub which is not a favorite version of mine. The steak is like thin shavings of beef chopped kinda fine, finer than most. Very dry the couple of times I had the sammich and doused with way too much oil & vinegar, so much the bread was covered in oil on the outside & just a drippy slick mess. I just stick with my ol' stand by, double chicken skewer/double salad. 5 star chicken skewer/salad + 3 star steak & cheese = my 2 cents
