I attended a Moroccan themed engagement party thrown in my friend's mom's succulent garden. The dinner was hosted by Tastebuds and the food was out of this world! They took care of everything from food to chairs to good times. The service was perfectly timed and thoughtful.and SO friendly. They kept the wine coming and ended with this insane Pistachio ice cream with Baklava crisps topped with warm salted honey. Get out! I had such a good time and it felt like I was dinning at my favorite restaurant.

It pains me to write a negative review on TasteBuds because I have previously had such a wonderful experience with both their work and with co-owner Natalia. But they screwed up a 50th birthday dinner gathering I held for my spouse and they have not responded to either my phone calls or my e-mails attempting to resolve this issue. There was no issue at all with the food; the issue -- and it ruined the evening -- was with the birthday cake.
We ordered a gluten-free, dairy free cake and what we got was literally inedible. The first problem that they had paid no attention to the cake piece of their catering was that the cake was not decorated at all. All it had on it was some very basic looking writing the read "happy 60th birthday." So not only did it look like a child had written on the cake, they wrote the wrong year!
We tried to make light of it after dinner until we all discovered that the cake was awful. None of the guests were able to eat anything except their first bites. and inside this cake, for some unknown reason, there were green, short plastic straws. The cake had no favor, it tasted stale and off, it looked awful -- and, for the kicker, I was charged $50 for this disaster.
I have no complaints about the money we spent on this catered dinner for 12, except for the embarrassing dessert fiasco. What was done was done and all I was asking for was a refund of the charge for the cake. I didn't think that was asking too much -- and because I was a repeat customer, I was confident these people would be eager to see that all was resolved happily.
It seems, instead, that either they don't need my business or that they have bigger clients with bigger dinners and larger parties to be concerned with. As I wrote, I never received even an acknowledgement of my voice messages or e-mail attempts to talk with Natalia about this. How disappointing, because, as I also wrote, I really liked her and this company, but obviously the feeling wasn't mutual.

I have been using Natalia and company for a while and to say they are top shelf is a profound understatement. Their staff and the food are both amazing I would say that staff is equal to the food but to do that they would need wings and halos as the food is simply divine. That aside the staff is still pretty amazing. I have had them cater a few of my events and everybody agrees that the food the service and the personality of Natalia and crew are second to none.
My only regret is that I have moved away from So Cal where they are based and so no longer have the option to book them for my events. However, several of my friends still do. And when I am in the area I always recommend them. Nothing short of amazing

TasteBuds Culinary has possibly the best quality and consistently flavorful food that I have tasted in my life. They have the best meat I have ever tasted in their gourmet burgers and the thoughtfulness that the owners, Melissa and Natalia put into every party and event they plan and cater only adds to the success and satisfaction after you have experienced it all.
The Rosemary quiche is a favorite of everyone as well as the aroma that hypnotizes you when some Garlic shoestring potatoes arrive at your table. I can't stop recommending Tastebuds Catering to my close friends because I know they will surely be happy once they taste the freshness from their signature salads and Chicken recipes. The staff that supports the Team effort to bring delicious food to any party or event gets 5 Gold Stars from me.
You think of the theme of the event or party and Tastebuds Culinary will make it a memorable one for sure. I'm salivating just thinking of the great food as I picture it in my mind. In short: SIMPLY FABULOUS IN EVERY WAY! In long: From my first meeting with Melissa until the last guest departed, I felt like a guest at my own party. Having over 50 people in my back yard seemed like an impossibility, but the buffet brunch that Melissa, Natalia and their team prepared and served was perfect in every way. The yummy hors d'oeuvres put all the guests in a festive mood, and the wonderful assortment of salads and main dishes, accompanied by the most delectable muffins, scones and breads, guaranteed that no one left hungry.
While I'm always concerned that there won't be enough food, that's certainly not the case with TasteBuds. There was not only more than enough for everyone, it was all absolutely delicious and displayed beautifully. Natalia and Melissa know how to please discriminating clients. I worked the 2014 Pasadena Showcase Home Popup Restaurant with this company. Not only are they friendly, professional and fun to work for, their food is incredible, especially signature recipes like the Tastebuds Potato Salad! They're hard working and their attention to detail is admirable! I highly recommend hiring them for your event!
