The owners of Suburban Eats have diplomas from top culinary institutions and extensive hands on experience in the deli, catering, and food service industry. With a passion for service and making delicious food prepared fresh every day, they opened Suburban Eats as a gourmet deli and caterer in Melville, NY. For 12 years they have been delighting the tastebuds of local residents in Melville, Farmingdale, Plainview, Huntington and the surrounding areas. In that time they have brought their signature taste to countless business lunches, family gatherings, and special events all over Long Island. Timothy is a graduate of the Carroll School of Management at Boston College as well as the French Culinary Institute and has worked at the West End Cafe and DC-3 Gourmet Delicatessen. Ivan is a graduate of the prestigious Culinary Institute of America as well as an alumni of establishments such as the West End Cafe, Arizona 206, La Marmite, La Coquille, the Newport Grill, the Ivy Cottage and Carlton on the Park. The owners personally oversee the creation of all food dishes and daily operations of the business. Tim & Ivan are available to assist in answering any questions or in planning catering for your next event.

What I really wanted to give was ZERO star. the other day my office coworkers order few breakfast and I ordered bagel with cream cheese. Wow! Wow. I paid extra $ for this? Where's the cream cheese? Do you see? Seriously? I understand price went up on everything but come on. My other coworker ordered hungry man on a roll. Never seen such skinny hungry man in my life.

The morning when I you are craving warm toasted bagel with filling cream cheese, ,, do NOT go here. If you are hungry and crave hungry man. or thinking of sharing a hungry man do NOT go here. Paid extra for the cream cheese that I do not see nor taste and hungry man that is not so hungry. See the pictures please. Am I the only one who got it this way? smh. Being way too cheap~~

We catered my son's graduation party today from Suburban Eats and we will definitely use them for my next son's party next year! The Backyard BBQ was great! A ton of food. Delicious burgers, hot dogs - freshly grilled, pulled pork and chicken. Everyone raved and enjoyed. And a great value. Thank you Tim.

As I sit here at my keyboard, hungry, disappointed, irritated and feeling that I have once again wasted my time. I wonder why I continue to punish myself, or better yet why this establishment continues punish me and other patrons with poor quality food. I cannot comment on the service as I was the only person in there, which in and of itself is surprising for 12:30 PM on a Friday in a corporate area at lunch time.
Onto the food, what I ordered was Roast beef, American cheese, lettuce and mayo on a hero. I have attached a picture of the "sandwich" that I received in return. It was an entire head of lettuce chopped up slathered with mayo accompanied by two slices of roast beef. Now I am not sure who I offended but you can rest assured I am beyond offended that this is what was passed off to me for $9 plus tax and called a "sandwich".
Personally I feel less scammed by the constant phone calls about "car warranties" and the like, than I feel I did by Suburban Eats. If you're a glutton for punishment then please come here and try your luck. If you already have a headache avoid coming here or you'll get another.

This is my first time of many times ordering from here. I ordered the Hungry Man Hero and the French Toast with bacon. First off, I had to share my hero and I don't share anything! I can usually down any meal alone but I had to share this with my lady. Omg! We split her French Toast and STILL couldn't finish our meal! These other sandwich places have some competition. Actually, they don't even compare to the amount of food for your dollars.
The delivery driver was very courteous and well mannered. THANK YOU SUBURBAN EATS! YOU'RE A HIDDEN GEM. (PS: I dont have pictures of my food because after a couple of burps, I went back to finish the leftovers 10 minutes later)

This place is close some friends, so I stop in occasionally for lunch. It's always busy, but the service is good and the line moves quick. The people who work there are really good at keeping things moving. They have a great selection of food, from pizza and Italian dishes to sandwiches and hot paninis. It's a deli with hot food and Italian choices, which is really nice.
They have good salads too. The atmosphere is a little noisy, but it's a busy lunchtime deli, so it's not unexpected. They have a casual dining room too, which is a great option when you want to sit in and eat. I never think twice about going there, it's really a great place to stop in for a tasty lunch.

This is still one of my favorite lunch spots. The paninis are a really good deal. They have a big assortment of already made paninis ready to heat and they are all good. I do notice that they have been getting stingy with the chicken on the onI order most "the Bistro" and I'm guessing that goes for the other ones also. Don't think people don't realize!
Some bites don't have any chicken and the cutlets are now really thin. Just raise the price if you have to and don't skimp. Update 10-25-19: Not sure what's happening to this place. It seems like everything is dirty. Cash register is dirty, bathroom is disgusting with thick grime and dirt on the door, and last 2 times, no soap in Men's room. The dispensers didn't even have a bottle in them. This is troubling since the employees use the same bathroom and don't wash their hands with soap.

One star is generous on my behalf. We place large lunch orders that are faxed in with specific requests. Today I ordered the " Turkey patty melt with grilled onion relish". I was so excited to try this and couldn't wait for lunch to arrive. What came was A turkey burger patty on toasted rye bread (soggy rye bread would be more accurate ) with a slice of Swiss cheese and some red onion and pickle on the side.
Absolute no "grilled onion relish" and the burger itself was not grilled "diner style" as stated on the menu. This was also supposed to come with fries and came with potato wedges instead. I asked for sides of ranch dressing which was written down on my dish but not included. It's clear that there is absolutely no attention to detail and often there specials are not as listed on the menu.
The Tuna MAC is literally drowning in mayonnaise as well. Very disappointed once again. If you don't have something available don't put it on your menu OR at the very least pick up the phone and let your customer know that what they are ordering isn't what they will receive. Never again!

I had High Hopes from the looks of the place but when I went in it was very disorganized. I went in and had no idea who to order from or where to stand.this place could use a order here sign. At least four other customers ask me where to order for if I ordered since there's no place to stand except in front of the counter. Nobody took my order so finally the cashier told me I had to go stand over by one of the many counters until somebody took my order.
I asked for a Philly cheese steak everybody behind the counter looked unhappy. After 10 minutes when I asked about my sandwich she forgot to put the order into the cook which he then had an argument with the cook about who has to get what to make the sandwich. And then I got my sandwich and it look like a three-year-old made it. Barely any meat and the meat what was there was fatty and not tasteful. will not come back.

I work in the area - my office usually orders lunch from here at least once a week when we have customers in and well today was an EPIC Fail! Not only did they forget a customers order, my normal roast beef on a roll sandwich would have fed a 4 year old it was soo small and WHIMPY! Normally, it's LOADED with nice, fresh rare Roast Beef, and today's BS of a sandwich consisted of about 4 slices of well done roast beef, more mayo than in a jar and a slice of cheese! SERIOUSLY!
I just ate and I'm still hungry and HANGRY! Being in a major business area, there are a TON of places to choose from - My office will be going elsewhere! DONE! This is not the first time they have screwed us - more than an hour for pick-up, forgetting stuff left and right to where we have to go back. and just subpar!

Had a pizza and it was pretty good. They were completely out of parmigiano cheese sadly. They should really try harder to keep the tables and floors much cleaner and not let their trash can get so full. Lots of food crumbs on the tables, chairs and floor. Went to the bathroom to find no toilet paper, that's never fun. All the foods looked yummy. Had one of their yummy brownies, really enjoyed that. Didn't think it was very professional for one of the employees to be sitting down arguing on her cell phone with someone.

This morning we had our office catered by Suburban Eats. They did a fabulous job! The food was fresh and delicious. We got the Warm Sunrise Breakfast and the omelet station. The chef that cooked the fresh and delicious omelets was fast and kind. Thank you so much for making our retirement party so very special!

Choose your own type of salad bar. Pick your greens then go over to all the fixins and add to your healthy heart's content. Choose tossed or chopped. FYI, chopped is the only way to go. Everything is then in small pieces and each bite is packed full of every flavor. I had the spinach with too many add ons to count. As I walked up towards the counter to pay I noticed the roasted brussel sprouts.
I know, you're probably thinking, Ewe that's gross. But try 'em. Be adventurous, live life to the fullest. Go for it! They are delicious. Even though lunch time is prime time for them, wait wasn't long at all. Was able to get our food quickly and find an open table. Definitely a few more options I will check out there next time in town.

Love this spot for lunch! They have everything: pizza, make-your-own-salad, hot food, heroes, paninis, breakfast. you name it! Because this is such a hot spot during lunch time, it can get pretty crowded in there and service can get backed up a bit. If you're going on your lunch break during the rush, might wanna call ahead to avoid the chaos! Try the jr special panini! Mmmm

So I stopped in late one afternoon and got the best service I have had at a deli in a while. And honestly calling this place a deli is a bit down playing it. This is more of a cafe with paninis and wraps, even hot food choices. Since I just took a job around the block I def will be back. The cuban was really good and the owner was too friendly not to go back

We have been customers of this Deli for a few years for mostly catering salad packages and sandwiches for special events such as home parties & BBQs. Our experienced has been good and their prices are reasonable for what they provide. I happened to have a small gathering at my house and I only needed eight wraps. They would not provide me with a sandwich basket unless I paid more for the sandwiches.
But I with a little help from my casher friend, she provided me with a decorated plastic plate with a paper cover. She was very helpful compared to others in some cases I have experienced. But that has not stop me from selecting this place for catering my parties or just for a quick bite. Good food, good selections and sometimes good service.

Best in the area. Best in a lot of areas. Always busy and a bit pricey but, so worth it. A deli with the works, and not such bad pizza, all things considered. Large staff however they lack the appreciation of their customer. endless selection and daily specials, a favorite exists for everyone, go often and figure it out. I suggest calling in your order and allowing plenty of time, they need a larger drink selection but, otherwise, just enjoy.
So much to say I'm having a melt down, in fact their only melt down is service. It's not always the most helpful, accurate, caring, or kind service but the food is fantastic! I want to thank the amazing Chefs of Suburban Eats who catered a baby shower for my sister over the weekend. The "Warm Breakfast" from the menu was fantastic! the eggs, potatoes sausage, bacon and French toast was out of this world! and the breakfast Pizza of bacon egg and cheese and egg white with mushroom spinach tomato and cheese was amazing! My family and friends could not stop talking about how good the food was. I cannot wait to cater my next party with you! I have gone to Suburban Eat's many times throughout the years and I love it there! I always get a Cobb salad with their amazingly delicious honey mustard dressing. There is such a great selection of food, snacks and desserts to chose from. The place is always very clean and the staff is incredibly friendly!
