Tagine Aside from the beautiful and comfortably decorated interior, Tagine's kitchen is dynamic, baking its own semolina bread daily, and encasing its own lamb merguez. A variety of 'Tagines' are featured at the restaurant. There are several different cous cous selections on the menu, and mouthwatering house specialties include "bastilla", a Moroccan pheasant pie, and "moquadimat," a selection of appetizers, ordered a la carte or as a mixed platter. Included in the wine list, is a diverse selection of Moroccan varieties, which delightfully accompany the menu. Don't walk away from your table without sampling "Halahwyat" the most delightful, hand rolled traditional confections and pastries, graciously served with mint tea or Moroccan spiced coffee. We have been hosting, catering and entertaining palates and bodies for over 12 years. Our new location boasts a generous bar, hookah lounge, semi private room and, as always, one of the lasting live music venues in Manhattan. Our concept is the cohabitation of flavors, aromas, palettes and palates:) The merging of cross cultural arts, artists performances while dining on slow, authentic and artisanal cuisine is our mission and brand. Hence our namesake, Tagine- Share the Experience We are the only artisanal Moroccan restaurant that has a variety of gluten free dishes on our in-house menu as well as an executive chef who can accommodate any dietary request.

Food is great at this place. Lighting is perfect for intimacy or just a chill vibe. It's always very clean, and they have a great atmosphere. Music varies.

This was the best morrocon food we have ever had! A very dramatic serving of sizzling beef and lamb stew poured by the Chef in earthen pots at table made for a very memorable Thanksgiving shot. Special shot out to the gracious host! Making plans already to be back here again.

This was hands down the most delicious meal I've had in a very long time. It was prepared in a matter of a home cooking but have the Finger licking presentation.! I loved everything about this place. Starting with most welcoming staff which provided warm and cozy atmosphere. The place itself is not too big and it creates a very cozy ambiance and comfy seats, perfect for casual day out or for night I would with a special someone. This is definitely going to be my number one choice!

The Moroccan restaurant in Manhattan. Drinks are good and the food, they got live music performance. This is a really fun and interesting place to hangout.

Very disappointed. Came in for a hookah and a chill atmosphere. The decor was cute (albeit a bit dirty so I chose not to eat there), so I was initially excited. But the hookah was extremely overpriced and had limited flavor options. They didn't pack the shisha well either, it burned within minutes. For the price (which I would have willing paid), I expected a really nice hookah.

But it was the basic one with no fruit bowl or ice hose, not worth $20 much less the $35 I paid. I also ordered a drink which was delivered half full and watered down. The picture I attached is how the drink was given to me. After having to send back the hookah I was too annoyed to bother with the drink so I just counted it as a $14 loss and left.

When you walk in you will be overwhelmed by the atmosphere, it is very cool, and the music is great. the food is also just delicious. however, beware of the hostess/waitress/bartender. she is incompetent and indifferent. she is slow, she poured my drinks incorrectly, didn't know what the various dishes were (important with cuisine you are not familiar with) and misunderstand policy about the restaurant. com coupon I asked her about, and when there was an issue when I was paying, became combative. somehow, it was still worth it!

Went there for my wife's birthday, the staff was more than willing to make our experience the best that it could be. My wife danced with the Belly dancer and had the time of her life. The food was delicious, I recommend the lamb Casablanca. It was so perfectly cooked that the meat was succulent and just fell off the bone. If all this was not enough they sang happy birthday to my wife and brought out a delicious desert at my request. Beautiful night

I rarely write reviews but this restaurant deserves it. As a Moroccan myself I can attest that the food is truly authentic and delicious. I enjoyed my Couscous Royal, which was almost as good as my mother's couscous. Prices on the menu are decent, service is very friendly, a little slow but that's because they were super busy. The entertainment was awesome, they had a band playing music from Zimbwabe, and a professional belly dancer. This restaurant would have been one of my favorite hang out spot have I not lived out of state!

An oasis of calm in the hectic desert of NYC. Great atmosphere; low lighting with plenty of cushions and interesting decor. Live music that makes the mood. Waitress recommended a good wine when our choice was out. Nice high quality hookah.

Hamid is the best!!! The food was awesome!! The presentation was great as well with steaming clay pyramid shaped serving dishes. Nice dark atmosphere with pillows and cushions, very comfortable. They had great middle eastern / Bollywood style music. We were visiting from Florida where morrocan food is nonexistent. We had such a great time. I wish I could give 10 stars! Thanks so much Hamid for a great night!

The food is a little pricey but this is to be expected given the location. The service was phenomenal and the owner made us feel like we were right back in Morocco again. His personal service made the meal a hundred times more enjoyable. Come here for a long and relaxing meal, not a quick bite in a rush.

Last nite was our firsr time coming to Tagine and i really enjoyed it! Great food and the atmosphere was pleasant. Came with 7 friends celebrating a birthday and some had never tried Hooka and by the end of the night they were experts! I will definitely be coming back and will recommend to other friends!!

A beautiful place with super yummy Moroccan food. I absolutely love their soup. This place supports the artists that bring the Middle East experience to life in the Big Apple. Bellydancers, singers, bands, etc Tagine has a special place in my heart since day one!

Awesome service provided by all the staff. The food was outstanding! Everything was served quickly and the lamb in the dishes we tried was so tender that it just fell off the bone. They make their own hummus and bake all their breads daily. The pita bread and hummus was delicious!

Delicious authentic Moroccan food. We almost didn't go because my husband was worried about bad review for service, but the waitresses were lovely and helpful. We ate bastilla, lamb and chicken tagines, humus, spicy carrots, lemon chicken and soup, all of it wonderful, as was the fresh Moroccan bread and humus. Definitely plan to go back.

I live on Long Island and LOVE to take the train in to the city to eat. My husband and I stumbled upon this gem. Someone was standing outside and invited us in. I love to taste food from all over the world. We were not disappointed for one minute. The food was unique, delicious and the chef was so enthusiastic about his masterpieces and visited our table a few times.

He was delighted to share what spices he used. I have been trying to implement more tumeric in my diet and he explained how to cook it. (note that the food has nice spices but not hot) I will be returning when I am back in the city. Highly recommend.

As a Moroccan, this restaurant offers the best authentic Moroccan cuisine around. Try Bastilla, chicken tagine with preserved lemons and olives, couscous with lamb and vegetables. For soup tried Harira and of course don't forget Moroccan bread with different sauces.
