Forest Lodge

Held an 8th grade graduation dance at Forest Lodge. Beautiful, well maintained grounds. Service was impeccable - food was delicious. The students loved the outdoor games and fire pit. The venue provided a DJ who played great music. Everyone danced and had fun. S'mores! Anthony was very easy to work with - provided guidance and flexibility. Our school will be repeat customers!

It's my first time being around the trip to forest lodge, NJ with my trip, It was fun and I kinda liked it and I wish I could go back there again to have fun once more.

Fantastic wedding ceremony, wonderful venue. Food and drinks were terrific. The grounds were well kept and made a beautiful backdrop for it photos. I would have liked to take home one of the nearly untouched steaks that were being thrown out after dinner (I have a couple dogs that eat proper meals), but they didn't have any take home boxes - I asked 3 or 4 different waiters.

I guess if that's my biggest complaint, they still get a 5 star review. Seriously, though, my dogs should have enjoyed that steak instead of them ending up in a dumpster. What a waste. A small courtesy such as that would have made it a perfect night.

I think most of us can understand how difficult planning a wedding is, let a lone during a pandemic. Working with The Forest Lodge made it much easier for my husband and I. We had originally booked for May of 2020, and as the pandemic quickly grew that dated changed to May of 2021 and then again to our final date of November 14, 2021. During all these changes the staff at The Forest Lodge was very accommodating, reassuring and above all professional.

Working with Anthony, Sean & Charles was not only easy but fun, given how easy going and charismatic they are. Unfortunately I can not name the rest of the staff, but they were all amazing; specially the two ladies that personally took care of my husband and I on the day of. Our wedding had a total head count of about 330; all which were very nicely accommodated in The Maple Grove.

Given that the wedding was an outdoor wedding in the middle of November, yes it was pretty cold, but The Forest Lodge worked very hard with us to insure our guests were as warm as possible with heaters and multiple tents. We will definitely be working with them in the future, maybe just in a warmer month to enjoy their premises to their full potential. Food and service was excellent; 15 out of 10 would recommend.

From beginning to end our wedding was a dream. We booked during the height of COVID-19 and wanted to be certain we had access to and indoor/outdoor space. The space was beautiful and the food was amazing. There were plenty of places to take nice pictures. Nothing though compares to the actual service provided by the staff. My bridal attendant/ bestie was Caitlin.

I had no idea I would have her there, but boy was I glad she was. This woman had my back the whole day. She made sure I was fed and hydrated. The team also Extended this courtesy to my mother. Sean helped Me plan and Kathy was my Maitre D. If I had to do it all over I would choose Forrest Lodge again and again and suggest you do the same. Thanks to all the people who made my day so special.

I threw my husband a surprise 40th birthday party at the Sherwood Room last night. We were absolutely blown away by EVERYTHING! They worked with me to create the perfect curated cocktail menu for the party, even creating some new dishes that were a total hit! They could not have been easier to work with during the process of getting everything just right for the party.

On the night of the event the staff was beyond accommodating, putting up tents outside within minutes of rain starting, making sure glasses were topped off and that food was readily available and plentiful. Would not think twice about having another party here, we will be back!

Forest lodge and their staff are amazing. From the start of our wedding planning to the end which lasted a year, Anthony was right by our side to help with it all. The wedding ceremony and reception were amazing, and the staff were very attentive to everyone's needs. Nobody ever had to ask for anything, especially the bride and groom. They were always very helpful and ensuring that we were taken care of. 10/10 recommend this venue!

My husband and I were married at the Forest Lodge on October 30th and it is difficult to put into words how beautiful and how special our wedding day was, thanks to the wonderful staff at the Forest Lodge. On our first visit, we knew that this was the place for us. The staff, most especially Anthony and Sean, were phenomenal. They made sure every detail was perfect and exactly the way we wanted it to be.

They coordinated and communicated with our vendors to ensure schedules were followed and everything went smoothly. They knew what our vision was and made it our reality. On our wedding day, the weather forecast was predicting rain. Knowing how important the outdoor venue was to us, Anthony communicated with us throughout the entire day and patiently waited until the last second to make the call.

Due to his patience, we were able to have the beautiful outdoor ceremony that we were looking forward to for months. The venue looked absolutely beautiful and the food was delicious! The ceremony gazebo area looked gorgeous, with the fire pits for the cocktail hour. The outdoor reception area, Maple Grove, looked absolutely stunning with string lights that made the entire area glow.

The detail that they placed into setting up our decor was tremendous. We have received countless complements from our guests about how perfect the venue was and how tremendous the staff was. Anthony and Sean made sure we were well taken care of and that we didn't have to worry about a thing. We were able to just enjoy our beautiful day! We cannot say enough wonderful things about the Forest Lodge and its staff. They truly made our dream come true. We would highly recommend the Forest Lodge to any couple looking to make their dreams come true as well! lol

From the father of the bride! Just had my daughter's wedding and reception at Forest Lodge. If there was a word that could go beyond PERFECT I would use it. Every aspect of the wedding was a father's dream. Anthony and Sean and all the staff were amazing. My daughter's day started early in the AM in the bridal suite (what a suite it is) and throughout the day and night everything just got better and better.

The food was great.the hot apple cider started the afternoon for our guests - the cocktail hour was so well serviced and the staff so attentive and dinner was just out of this world. The whole day and night was perfect! Really.perfect. But beyond the food and the cake and the beautiful surroundings.the entire Forest Lodge crew made the day and night even more special.

They were so attentive to all the guests needs and truly made the day even more special. Every guest commented to my wife and me how wonderful the entire ceremony and night was. Thank you all - especially Anthony and Sean - for making my daughter's wedding so beautiful - just.beyond perfect! I can't rave about this venue enough! I got married at the Forest Lodge on 9/18/21 in the Sherwood Chalet room and everything exceeded all our expectations! The food is amazing and the service was on point! The whole staff (especially Anthony, Charlotte(bridal attendant) and Sean) was so nice and very attentive, making sure my husband, myself, our bridal party, and parents were taking very well care of!

The venue space (inside and outside) is so beautiful as is and didn't need much decor to bring my vision to life. Anthony was our main point of contact throughout the planning process and also our maitre d' the day of and all I can say is WOW! Make sure you ask for him for your big day. I had specific requests (and may have been a pain a time or two when planning ha!) but he made everything happen and gave us exactly what we wanted.

The day wouldn't have been so perfect without all his help. The day of he was on point with the whole timeline and never missed a beat! He also never let us have an empty drink in our hand. Even my father was so impressed that every time his beer got low, he turned around and Anthony was there with a fresh one! Immediately after the ceremony also he had drinks waiting for us and a whole tray of our cocktail foods just for us and made sure we ate and enjoyed our food!

Now that's great service! I highly recommend the Forest Lodge for your wedding (or any big event). You will not be disappointed! I only got a couple photos back from the photographer so far so the rest of the pictures are what others took, but wanted to show just how beautiful the venue space is and peep Anthony about to make sure my train and veil are perfect for my walk down the aisle!

We just got married at the Sherwood Chalet this past weekend (10/23/21) and WE LOVED IT! Sean and Anthony were literally the most easy going people we've ever worked with (and funny!). Everything went so smoothly and the food was incredible! We were able to customize our menu and add/remove things from our package. Kathy and Anna were our bridal attendants that evening and they made us feel like celebrities lol.

The whole staff was incredible too! We loved this place so much that they will be the first venue we will call when looking to host any kind of events in the future. Thank you Forest Lodge for making our day an incredible one!

They did a fantastic job with our Employee Appreciation event for our 350+ employees. The staff was super accommodating, the facility is well-maintained, the food was plentiful and delicious and the activities they arranged offered something fun for everyone. We would definitely consider them for a future event.

I honestly can't say enough good things about forest lodge, Sean, Anthony, Jill and even my girl Anna. I am a VERY casual bride that didn't want to do too much. I'm not about tradition, but I wanted to have fun. They did absolutely everything for me and made it so easy for me to literally just show up and be happy. We had our celebration all outdoors under the beautiful pavilion.

We had so many games out for kids to keep busy. The buffet was amazing. Dance floor was bumpin all night. Drinks were flowing, and smiles didn't leave anyone's face. I highly recommend using them for any and all events, small or large. casual or fancy. They knocked it out of the park! (Also thank you for cleaning up the cake we smashed all over the lawn before it down poured; and thanks for the shirts to keep us dry). You guys were great!

Attended a wedding shower this past Saturday in the maple grove section and it was perfect. The employees were so attentive and friendly. The venue is beautiful and so spacious for the amount of people that were attending. The bar, games, dance floor were great! Can't wait to go to more events!

This was the best place to have our wedding shower! They went allll out for it. Everything was outside and covered. There were games, a nice bar, great dance area under the tent. The staff was incredible. Everyone had an amazing time. I highly recommend using them for any type of party! Can't wait to come back one day. maybe for an anniversary :

The Forest Lodge was the perfect place for our daughter's wedding venue, and we were happy with the level of service, coordination, and price. When we went for the tasting, it was surprising to see the room filled with other clients; it should probably be mentioned that it is a group event. With great weather, we were able to take advantage of the beautiful outdoor gazebo and patio for the ceremony.

Our family and guests enjoyed the patio deck, fire pit area, and outdoor areas for cocktail hour and throughout the evening. Some of the cocktail weiners were a little over done, but the rest of hors d'oeuvres were excellent. The reception hall tables were beautifully arranged with linens and wares for our guests. The wedding cake with cupcake tiers was awesome, and I'm glad our florist was able to enhance the arrangement with fresh florals.

Fresh Caesar salads were served to the tables and for the buffet our selections were chicken franchise, salmon, penna ala vodka sauce, sausage with peppers and onions, roasted potatoes, roasted vegetables and carving stations of ham and roast beef. We enjoyed the leftovers too! Thank you for providing a lovely place with great service for us to host our special event!

I got married at The Forest Lodge aka The Sherwood Chalet on Friday 6.11.21. We had an amazing experience. Everything was great from the initial venue tour, the food/cake tasting and rehearsal all the way up to the actual wedding day. The place is naturally beautiful inside and out so you don't need many decorations. The staff was very accommodating to our wants and needs.

The bridal suite was also perfect and well stocked. We dealt with a few different people due to some of the staff was changing, but Jimena (my bridal attendant) and Anthony (the coordinator) were amazing and very comforting! It started to rain last minute and I was running late getting ready, but the staff was very helpful keeping me updated and with moving my cocktail hour and first look indoors.

Our guests loved the location, food and service on the day of our wedding. The servers were very attentive. The kids even enjoyed it as there was games outside from cocktail hour so they were distracted the entire night! Thank you so much Forest Lodge for making our day great. -Shannon & Moises

Had my wedding at Forest Lodge in May 2021 and cannot overstate how amazing this venue was. Anthony and his staff treated us like royalty and were so attentive to our needs on the big day. We decided to make our wedding completely outdoors. Ceremony and cocktail hour in the Sherwood Chalet patio area and reception in the Maple Grove area where they just renovated the entire space, added a tent alongside the pavilion, and spruced up all the grounds around the area.

It was gorgeous! We fit 150 people here with space to spare. Leading up to the wedding Anthony made us feel so comfortable and would always respond to our questions quickly. He worked with us on customizing our menu and got creative to make it fit our favorite cuisines. When it came time to eat we were so happy with how delicious it all was and that it was never in short supply during cocktail hour.

The staff was hustling to make sure every station and display was filled and waiters were always walking around with passed items. Forest Lodge has it all -- beautiful grounds, amazing food, and staff that go above and beyond. Book your wedding here you won't regret it.

I'm a wedding photographer, www.danielnydick.com and I have to tell you that the staff here treats brides and grooms with amazing personal attention, and they treat vendors like me just as nicely. That says A LOT about the management.

We attended a pto party at the forest lodge this Saturday. The facility staff is a true five start crew! The forest lodge reminds me of a country club with a pool and outside facility for summer parties. The main building that houses the events such as weddings, birthday party, and other family or township events. We had a amazing dj that's was brought in by the Watchung pto and photo booth that was a big hit!

There were about 70 kids or more running around ect but the stafff was excellent in dealing with them. The negative part was they had to put up a tent outside with heaters but sorta took away from the large ball room party. The food was ok, but I know the pto was carting towards the children. The manger Scott was excellent and took care of the townspeople needs! Would recommend this place only for people that Are having a event that's 200 people or less in my book because I wasn't fond of the outside tent set up.

Words fail me to describe how wonderful our wedding day was at the forest lodge. Our wedding was 11/01/19 and it was a dream come true! We saw the venue for the very first time last winter and met with Abby and VP, Linda. After we booked in the spring we mainly dealt with Scott, the event manager. I can't say enough about Scott, I had a vision and he brought it to life. Scott stayed late many times to meet with us, he listened, he offered suggestions and called us to double check when he wasn't sure about something.

But most of all, Scott has a very calming effect. We were very nervous about the weather but we ended up being able to do our ceremony outside as planned. My mom, my daughters and I got ready in the bridal suite, our attendant for the day was Denise. Denise went above and beyond for my family and I and we will forever remember her. My now husband and son hang out at the Sherwood chalet so we didn't see each other until first look.

We were running behind and Scott came to the rescue and got us back on track. The food was absolutely amazing! Linda stayed with us until we went to be introduced at the reception, she really did not to have to do that but she did! Every single person at the forest lodge was focused on US on our wedding day, we felt so special. The servers and bartenders were attentive and pleasant.

Our family is raving about them. Abby and Jeanette were making sure everything ran smoothly and took care of us all night. If your looking for a venue that focuses on 1 event at the time, where your event is important and where you will have the best memories book the forest lodge. My husband and I are still on cloud 9 and will for ever be grateful to the forest lodge for our amazing wedding day!

Scott made our wedding planning process so easy. He asked questions that we had not thought about and helped us through the process of making sure everything was planned for. During every meeting, he was welcoming and made time just for us and our family to go over every single detail. There were some policies that we thought could have been discussed very early in the planning stage, but he ensured that during the day of our wedding everything was perfect.

The day of the wedding, he was on top of everything and managed everyone very well. He knew what our families needed during the right times, paid careful attention to every detail, and made sure that people with allergies were always taken care of. He made our wedding day unforgettable and we were so happy to have our wedding with his help. Thank you for doing and excellent job Scott!

We had the pleasure of having our wedding reception at Sherwood Chalet this past Saturday. I can't say enough about what an amazing wedding and reception this was from start to finish. Scott, Linda and Abby were so accommodating and understanding leading up to the event. We planned our wedding mostly from GA and the planning process with the venue was seamless! Scott was our main coordinators and he was just AMAZING!

We felt like a King and Queen on our wedding day. Thanks to Scott, Abby, Thomas, Angelia, Linda, the entire wait staff, chefs and of course our lovely bartenders. Without your "southern hospitality" at our New Jersey wedding, the day would not have been so FABULOUS! Guests are still reaching out to us saying "it's the best wedding they have been to in a long time" and they can't say enough about the beauty of the grounds, the great tasting and abundant amount of food. Thank you all for making our wedding a dream come true! This venue is perfect if you want an intimate, only wedding, classy and professional venue!

Linda and staff were amazing for our corporate event. They went above and beyond our needs and expectations! The food was delicious and the entertainers they provided our party with were extremely engaging. Thanks for an incredible night and we can't wait to do something at Forest Lodge again soon!

I have been coming here off and on for many years. I had two multi-class HS reunions over the past 4 years which were held here and I was on the committee, along with my most recent visit in Oct for their yearly Octoberfest. The Forest Lodge is a large outdoor venue that can handle a wedding, reunion, or large party. There is the Sherwood Chalet indoor facility that can be used for parties or conference room too.

This is open all year round. There are 75,000 sq ft of covered pavilions and tented areas open style but convenient if it rains. and shaded picnic groves. There is plenty of tables and bench style seating which can be decorated for any theme. In the back where they serve the booze are groups of round tables and umbrellas. They have large horseshoe pits, and corn hole stations.

Basketball (Full & 1/2 Courts),S oftball Fields, Volleyball Courts, Ping Pong Tables, Badminton Courts, Soccer Goals, Permanent & Lawn Bocce Courts, Mini Golf On the back side of Forest Lodge is where you will find the food area. There are multiple walk-up style windows each serving a different type of food. Example: hamburgers and hot dogs, fries, corn on the cob, fried chicken, ice cream and picnic foods in the summer and in the fall Octoberfest German foods.

The Forest Lodge is so big they can handle 600 or more people. There's plenty of room on the grass to have lots of vendors if it's a fundraiser or event and it's very easy to walk around. They even have a stage for bands to play. There is several large parking lots and there's only one way in and out, so if you have an event that you will be charging for you can collect the money as people pull up.

They have Attendants and flag personnel. The Forest Lodge has a large Olympic size swimming pool and kiddie pool and changing area. They have a large deck and lounge chairs that surround it There are certified lifeguards on duty in the summer months. This place does a great job with staffing and they are always friendly and very helpful. I would definitely recommend this place for your next event, party, or wedding.

Most AMAZING VENUE! Forest lodge is so accommodating, friendly and professional! Forest Lodge was the first venue that we went to and every venue after that couldn't even compare. They were so willing to make our day exactly how we wanted and made sure to take notes and pay attention to the details we wanted! The whole planning process was smooth and stress free!

Our wedding day went off without a hitch it was beyond perfect and I recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful venue with amazing staff! We got married at Forest Lodge on 10/6/17. The wedding was absolutely beautiful but even better it was so much fun. People have been telling me how much they truly enjoyed themselves at our wedding. That makes me so happy. The Sherwood Chalet at Forest Lodge is a beautiful venue. We had 125 guests and it was perfect. Matt was amazing! He helped with every detail.

He made sure we were happy throughout the night. He even made sure to bring me the vegetarian offerings from the cocktail hour so I wouldn't have to hunt them down which I just thought was so sweet. Linda was also great! She was realistic and helped put things in perspective for me. I completely enjoyed the planning and execution of our wedding with Matt and Linda's help. I'm so happy we chose Forest Lodge for our big day.

This place reeks of rancid oil that they use to fry the French fries and frozen chicken. The food was horrible, the cheapest junk that even public schools won't serve to kids who don't know better. You need to stand in line for different foods, one line for hot dogs and hamburgers, one line for chicken and fries, etc. If you are at an event with hundreds of people, you would need to stand in line for 20 minutes for a hot dog, then get up and stand in line again for something else. Even the ice cream was cheap chemical weird stuff. Pool was dirty.

Went here for a wedding recently on a beautiful Saturday late afternoon. The ceremony was held outside in a nice setting right at Forest Lodge. There were tons of appetizers brought around by the staff, my favorite being the beef slices and the potato pancakes. The meal was served buffet style and was pretty good as wedding food goes. There was plenty of food leftover if you wanted seconds.

There was an open bar which was served very efficiently by the bar staff. The waitstaff was exceptional.friendly, very attentive, and good at their jobs. Truly superior service! I was told the cost was about $75 per person, which seems like a good value for a very nice venue. There was adequate parking and the place is located in a pleasant, quiet, and safe area.
