I had the seafood Alfredo and I was so impressed it was so delicious. It's pretty hard to find good Alfredo's but this was so good scallops, shrimp, crab, clams, mussels. I highly recommend this, my mom had the perch and that was very good too I also like the bread that is served. Super good meal

Great meals and fair prices my husband had fish and chips and he was satisfied I had the bison meatloaf with gravy and mashed potatoes they served it with asparagus always good sometimes when you get a meatloaf it's dried out with this was very good moist we definitely will go back again and we did we took friends with us the next time they were satisfied with their food also all three had the fried shrimp which they enjoyed it was not heavy with batter.

The service was very good every table was used a lot of customers but things seem to move very slowly it everyone understands with limited staff you have to be patient and we were because the food was very very good it was well worth the wait

Stopped for breakfast on the way out of town. Best meal we had. Service was great. Grandkids loved the food and gobbled it down. Best breakfast in town

Was in town for an event and ate at Audie's on two different occasions. Greatly enjoyed the experience. Staff was extremely nice and pleasant. They kept up despite the large size of our group. Food was prepared well and the portions were good as well. We moved to Audie's after a bad experience with another local restaurant. Audie's rose to the occasion with their food and service.

I have never been to an eating establishment with such a friendly staff. We were seated immediately, with our drink order taken at that time. The food we ordered came in a timely manner, and was so delicious, I wish I could have taken a weeks worth home. If we are ever there again, this place will certainly be one of our places to go.

I make it a point to come here any time I visit Mackinaw City. Easily the best restaurant the city has to offer, and arguably better than any of the restaurants on the island, as well. I first came here 10 years ago, and it's just as good now as I remember it then. All of the fish tastes incredibly fresh. My personal favorite is the encrusted white fish. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Highly recommend!

As a tradition, my family has always stopped to eat at audie's. And as usual the last two mornings, right as they open we were greeted with smiles and warm hellos. Both our waitresses Amanda and I didn't grab today's waitresses name. However both were amazing, especially with our crazy toddler boys that are continuing the traditional stop with us. Excellent service! That home comfort away from home. Thank you again, and we will definitely be stopping by soon on our next family trip.

I've been going to Audie's since 1992. I grew up in the Detroit area, but moved away in the 1970s. But when visiting friends and family in Indian River Mi, a good friend and I would drive the 30 miles as a change of pace from the touristy (and mostly really average or worse) places to eat in Mackinaw City back in the day. Having said that, after 30 years, there are more restaurants in town, and some are pretty good, but none as good as the Chippewa Room at Audie's.

But to finally get to the point. Last night my wife and I went (as we always do on our wedding anniversary when we visit the area every year) and have since 2000, only to be served and welcomed by the staff as always. My wife had the Elk and venison sausage dinner, and I had the fried perch and chips. I ALWAYS have the same thing as I love perch and try and eat as much as possible when venturing from our home in East Tennessee to northern Michigan.

And their version is better than your typical F&C. But last night I sampled my wife's dish, and have decided that next visit I'm having that! Holy moley, it was amazing! Last year she had the bison meatloaf, and fell in love with it as well. She actually told friends about it for months after we returned home. Who does that? That should give you an idea of just how good the place is.

And I haven't even mentioned the atmosphere! Warm and welcoming, comfortable, and our server John was attentive and friendly. Go there now. If you read another review that's less than 5 stars, disregard it. Any issues they had were a fluke. It's not only the one and only high end restaurant in Mackinaw City, it could compete with any high end restaurant in any big city. Did I mention you should go there right now? Oh yeah I did. It's really not that pricy, and I can't say that about too many decent restaurants!

Wonderful setting in their Chippewa Room. The service was good as was the food. I recommend the perch-you won't be disappointed. Our grandson enjoyed the frog legs--something you don't find in every menu.

Great value meals. We had dinner after a day and night on the island and were very pleased to find what felt like a non tourist restaurant. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The white fish dinners were excellent.

I was super excited based off their rating on here. Highly underwhelmed and left feeling dissatisfied. I ordered the spaghetti marinara that had absolutely no flavor besides that of canned chef boyardee. Their prices are way too high for what they serve, this is diner food not an upscale establishment but I'll give them grace for supply chain issues and costs. Definitely won't be back but if you want to support your local lack of talent go ahead.

I wanted something simple and not too expensive -- especially since it's off-season. Reading about the few restaurants that are open in April, I came across Audie's and decided to go there. I had the clam chowder, which I thought was really good. For my meal, I had one of their fish sandwiches -- a large, thick piece of fish lightly pan fried and on a bun with lettuce, tomato and sauce.

It was hard to pick up, so I ended up using a fork and knife. It came with some delicious cole slaw, and I also had a side salad and iced tea. My server, Mandy, was very nice and efficient, and let me substitute the salad for fries. Definitely a place worth trying.

We stopped by for lunch. It was a good atmosphere, plenty of parking, and we were seated right away. Hands down, one of the best clam chowder soup I've ever had. I should've gotten a larger portion! It has lots of chopped clams with little to no potato, unlike some of other clam chowder I've had elsewhere, where it's filled up mostly with cheaper ingredients like potatoes (or worse, celery).

The battered fried mushrooms are also excellent! I really liked that it's very lightly battered and fried to a crisp! So much better than the heavily breaded, oil drenched things with tiny quarter-of-a-mushroom inside. If that was all we got, this review would have gotten 5+ stars! However, here are the reasons for the 3 stars: 1. The grilled cheese was alright.

The Swiss cheese was not melted (still in its original sliced cheese form) so it wasn't very satisfying. 2. We also ordered mozzarella cheese sticks. Normally it shouldn't be a problem, except for that a few sticks were just batter (no cheese inside) 3. Last but not least, we got grilled pork chops. Unfortunately, it resembles and tastes like ham. Although technically pork chops and ham are from the same animal, it was quite unexpected to get ham when expecting grilled pork chops.

It was an instant trip to UP and came across this restaurant. It is definitely a place to grab food. We ordered Hunter, Dad's Delight, French toast, and a side of ham. The plates and honey were warm when served. Severs were kind and nice. They had interesting hash brown. More importantly, their sausage and ham were unforgettable! It was a great experience in general. Will definitely recommend coming by if you have a chance!

Amazing breakfast place. They have one of the best breakfast options I've ever had. Almost all their items are made in-house. Definitely try the syrup and jam. That was the highlight. Their portions are huge so order accordingly. The server lady was very welcoming and walked us through the menu.

Such a cute place to eat. Family friendly. Like a waffelhouse/dennys but family cute version. Services was quick and kind. View was so nice sitting in corner booth watching the snow fall. Family of 4 spent $50 b4 tip. And we are all fulland very happy with our food.

This is a fantastic place to eat. They have several venues. Though I have only eaten at two of them, I have heard good reviews of all. The ones that my wife and I have eaten at have been great. My favorite dishes are the bison meatloaf - by far, the best meatloaf that I have ever had, the mashed potatoes, and the french fries. On our most recent visit, my wife had fish, and said it was wonderful as well.

Even better than the food is the waitstaff and service. They have an extensive drink menu, but as U quit drinking a few years ago, I can not address that - though my wife always enjoys the drinks that she orders. Try it out; you will not be disappointed! John Patterson

We were up in Mackinaw City for a weekend getaway and little to my knowledge, was the only breakfast restaurant open during the winter. Friendly staff and open bar so Bloody Mary's were a must! There were 6 plus 3 kids and service was great even with it being on the busy side. I would definitely go back when were in the area again.

My husband and I had a delicious, large meal at Audie's! My husband loved the fried smelt, fries, and coleslaw. I adored the onion soup, smoked pork chops, and sweet potatoes with candied pecans. The restaurant was clean, and service was friendly and efficient.

Stopped in here for breakfast a couple weeks back. It was really good. Hard to mess up pancakes and French toast, but some places do, but not here. The sausage was outstanding! Service was prompt and the portions were good sized. It was clean and even though it was busy it was still pretty quiet inside. The coffee was outstanding and they have to go cups as well.

As the vegetarian in the group, I was both glad to find something tasty and yet wishing, as at most restaurants, that there were more than the one choice. I got the spaghetti marinara, which was quite good, though the "garlic bread" was more oily than garlicky. I'm not sure if any butter was involved. I also got the deep fried mushrooms, which was a bit of a treat with a nice large portion.

My kid was really happy with his selection. But spouse was not so much. The English style fish and chips was reported to me as tasty but really greasy and did not sit well in the stomach. Overall, we were glad to find a place open on a Sunday evening in the off season when our first choice location was surprisingly not open. Also, Audie's is usually quite crowded due to their location and we were able to get right in and out this time (bonus).

Good to be aware, however, that the roads in this area are a bit inconvenient for on and off the freeway and there can often be a lot of traffic. Also, the Audie's parking is partially located across a road and it looks like it may be a little unsafe at times. I probably would not go again unless desperate. It wasn't bad. But we like to find better than "not bad." :|

Waitress Melissa was very friendly and efficient. They have the best raspberry vinaigrette I have ever had, it is homemade. My meal came with butternut squash, which I didn't order but apparently is the veggie of the day. I don't usually like squash but it was delicious. Highly recommend.

We arrived about 8:00 on a Tuesday night for dinner after some friends had recommended this restaurant. We were greeted and seated. Our server arrived and told us she was brand new so she might be a little slow. We thanked her for letting us know. We ordered the whitefish, with trout, onion soup and crab cakes. First, the onion soup was really good.

Everything else was okay. I didn't like the whitefish at all. I thought it was undercooked. My husband thought it had too much Parmesan cheese. This coming from a man who loves Parmesan cheese! When out dinner was served, they forgot the trout. My husband told another server and asked if she'd please let our server know. The other server came out to our table, checked our plates and said, "I can see that they did not bring out the trout ".

To which my husband said, "Excuse me. That was rude. Did you think I was lying?" She said she just had to verify that we really didn't receive the trout. There was no salad bar. There were sweatshirts on display in the server where I'm assuming the salad fixings would be if there was a salad bar. They were also out of every vegetable except sauteed and sweetened squash with some sweetened nuts. We did enjoy looking at the pictures of the construction of the bridge. Wish the food was better prepared. Wish we loved it but we didn't. Maybe it will be better for you.

Return visit to this eatery. Hostesses were friendly and accommodating, told us there would be a 15 minute wait.10 minutes later they called us in and seated us. Looked at the menu, decided on breakfast and my partner in crime ordered the Whitefish dinner. My original toast was burnt, and asked for it to be replaced.which they did. Bacon was not as I ordered, but I ate it.eggs were cold by the time the good toast arrived.but did not want to wait for them to remake them as then the toast would have been cold.

My brother ordered the Whitefish, came to the table warm and he said it was good. He agreed the bread they brought was okay, but over spiced in my opinion and his as well. Did not order dessert as I was not in the mood.

Excellent food and service! My wife was a little disappointed with the portion size of her open-faced whitefish sandwich (see photo), but the coleslaw and French fries were great. I had the parmesan crusted whitefish, mashed potatoes and gravy and a side salad. All were delicious. For dessert we had the apple pie a la mode.which filled a dinner plate! Not sure if we received a larger portion because they wanted to make up for their being out of cherry pie, but again it was excellent. I highly recommend this place.

Perfect place to spent your morning and charge yourself with amazing food for entire day. We used this place twice and each time enjoy new type of meal. So everything if wonderful, service, food. Waiters are ready to refill your cap of coffee anytime. I'm pretty sure that afternoon meals also have very good quality, but we didn't had chance to check it. Highly recommending for breakfast.

Might be fine for dinner, but definitely not breakfast/brunch. Very limited menu. "Hash browns" were soggy fried mashed potatoes. "Jam" was pie filling with corn starch. Cocoa was small for price and seemed to be from powder. Also came here because it was flagged as "outdoor dining", knowing that the odds were low for breakfast. On arrival the brusk hostess stated simply "no outdoor". That should be fixed, could have saved a drive. ((Since corrected on Yelp on the same day, thank you.))

We stopped here to eat today. Two adults, two children. Neither the hostess nor our waitress mentioned that there was a kids menu. The kids each had a plain cheeseburger - one didn't even get a bun. They charged us for a $14.66 Audie burger for each kid's burger when the kids menu (which we caught sight of on our way out the door) had the kids burgers at $6.25.

Not cool. When confronted, they dropped the price of the burger without the bun to the kids price but refused to adjust the other. The women's restroom had not been cleaned - with toilet paper all over the floor. There was a small wait time to eat, but they did move people through quickly. The hostess and our waitress were pleasant.

Great for the family We came to this restaurant for my daughter who is a culinary student. We had the best time, food and waiter John. The food was perfect from a great chef. We had filet, bison meatloaf, walleye, seafood Alfredo, whitefish and chicken cordon blue. All excellent sharing bites around the table. Finished with maple ice cream yummy.

Very happy with dinner. They have three dining rooms, with slightly diff menus, I would call to get the explanation. Fine dining-Chippewa Room; middle-Lounge; casual-Family. We went casual, they had a pretty big menu. As we were leaving, the barefoot lady smoking outside the Chippewa Room was telling us we definitely should have gone there instead of the Family Room.

I think we made the right decision. First I give 5 stars for recognizing food allergies and it was easy to figure out what was in the dishes after discussing w/ the server. 4 stars total because the burger was ordered medium and was not, and the misinformation about the fries. The parm crusted whitefish was great, as well as the sauteed whitefish.

Order stir fried veg side, which was not what I expected after hearing "stir fried" but was just mixed veggies, and was fine. BBQ Bison burger was good, I ordered medium, def was well done, but when you're hungry that's ok. I liked that it was cooked with a rub, and had BBQ sauce on the side, tasted pretty good. I was assured that the fries were fresh cut, they were not, so I recommend getting the chips, I think they are house made.

The ranch was house made! So that was a big plus. The highly rated dinner spots are limited in Mack City, and after accidentally not checking yelp and going to a 2 star place, Audie's was definitely above the rest. And, the dessert menu looked excellent with several options that were not the typical basic desserts, I wish I had saved room.

By the time I arrived at Audie's, I was starving! Just drove 4 hours straight from De Pere, WI, on two apples and a small handful of almonds. I was the kind of hungry where you break all your normal food plan guidelines. I was greeted so nicely by Amanda, who answered some of my questions about local goings-on, and even brought me a brochure from the front.

I don't usually eat lake fish, but my hunger needed protein, so I ordered the dinner Cajun Whitefish with pilaf and side salad--with a side of sweet potato fries (another broken food guideline. I blame hunger.). The Cajun spice was warming and perfectly done, giving the moist fish flavor I'd look for in ocean fish. The fries were just fun and filling. Alas, hunger saw the dessert menu before the entree, and was hooked before Amanda brought my coffee (which was very quick!). Amanda suggested a few options, and I went for the cheesecake with strawberries. Another broken guideline, but so worth it. Waiting for my bf to come in on the Mack Race. If he's hungry, we may swing by again!

If you need a place to eat while in Mackinaw City, you won't be disappointed with Audie's. We had breakfast twice at Audie's and it was a great experience each time. The wait staff was friendly, attentive, and accommodating for a table of 8 each morning. The food was appreciated by everyone in our group.even the 'picky eater' kids enjoyed it. I only wish there was some spice in the Mexican omelette; while it was good, it lacked heat, any heat would be an upgrade.

We didn't have many options for places for restaurants for breakfast while here because it was off-season and a lot of them were still closed. But I'm truly happy this place was open because it definitely was a delight. Our waitress was very polite and very on top of making sure we had everything we needed. We eat here every morning while we were in town.

I love that they have a big cinnamon roll that you can share for the table because my buddies kid really enjoyed it. I went with the omelette of course because you can't go wrong with an omelette and it gets as simple as possible with omelette and they did it just right. They make their own jam also which was phenomenal and I put it on my bagel instead of the cream cheese because the jam was so good.

I even bought several jars of the jam to take home for my family because I knew they were I would joy it as much as I did. I also love the vibe of the restaurant because a lot of the photos I had a history of Mackinac Bridge and of the city. I definitely would recommend this place to any of my friends going up here because it was worth going to.

Stopped in Audie's for supper tonight. We were seated promptly and or drink order taken. Their menu offers a good selection of options. We ordered a spaghetti with meat marinara sauce and a hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy. They arrived at our table in good time, I apologize as I forgot to take the photograph prior to adding my normal amount of pepper and taking a bite! It was excellent as was the pasta. Our waitress stopped back a couple times to check on us. We would definitely stop here again!

I didn't wanna leave Mackinaw Island/Mackinac City/St. Ignace area without trying any seafood at least once so I was hecka determined to have some whitefish tonight for dinner - but I could really do without any fried fish filets or sticks, I wanted something slightly more sophisticated. thank goodness Audie's offered broiled whitefish sandwich which was served with a side of coleslaw (delicious) and French fries (fried perfectly and came in a good quantity).

The broiled fish was great, perfectly cooked and paired very well with tartar sauce. The 'bun' unfortunately was literally made of 2 regular bread slices, only buttered. I think if they had used a baguette or a potato roll or even just a regular burger bun, it would've exponentially elevated the entire dish in my opinion. Last but certainly not least, their complimentary herbs- and cheese-crusted dinner rolls, served with some whipped butter/oil spread, were pretty amazing - I was hoping for our waitress to refill the bread basket but she never offered, oh wells. But, overall though, I enjoyed my dinner here.

You can tell this is a staple for the city. You would expect a little more wear and tear for how old the building is, but it is kept up nicely and very clean. The server was very kind, prompt, and had a quit wit, which I appreciate. They have two vegan options, a burger & spaghetti. A little quiet inside, so you can hear everyone else's conversation. Best part: Their bread is made in house and you can tell.

Close enough to the main strip but less pricey and less busy. Our visit was Monday, 08/3/2020 around 12pm. The dining room was small and unassuming but thankfully the wait for a table was short. I am glad we chose this place, as I really wanted a good meal before pulling out of town, and they had whitefish on the menu. The four of us were blown away by the quality our dishes.

Two had the fried perch, one a Reuben and I had whitefish almondine. My mother in law said her rice pilaf was excellent and flavorful that was plated with her perch. The reuben was huge and came with super crispy fries. His order of cole slaw was excellent as well. (cream based, not vinegar) The perch was perfectly breaded. The breading was herbed and wasn't too heavy.

It was really a choice plate. My husband said the reuben marbled rye was perfectly toasted - where is wasn't so hard that it torn up your mouth. My whitefish was excellent - nicely seasoned, topped with sliced almonds. My side was mashed potatoes with gravy. I also had a cup of clam chowder that was FULL of clams. No potato fillers. It was a bit thin but the flavor was spot on. So glad we chose Audie's for our last meal in town and wasn't disappointed.
