Have to admit that we stopped by because everywhere else was closing but we were not disappointed! Stopped in for lunch after visiting around Charlevoix. Friendly and outgoing staff! Food really hit the spot and was delicious! So happy stopping by to see the sights and enjoyed having a great lunch with a wonderful staff!

Be prepared! Sodas that are available are made with cane sugar! Sandwiches I can attest from eating the Reuben are chock full of meat. There are no dancing girls, HGTV shows or bowling competitions in the non existent televisions. If you are lucky the employees will smile at you but be ready for the inevitable "can I help you and sorry the restrooms are only for customers and no way are you a customer thinking about the menu". There is no pizza on the menu nor hot dogs. You could do a lot worse but probably not much better for lunch!

Overall tasty samiches and good portions First pic is the fighting Irish Unique combination but tasty. Would be better if bread was toasted Second pic is the turkey bacon club. Big sandwich and was very tasty Third is the Bordeaux panini. This is amazing. It kind of taste like Thanksgiving dinner in a sandwich. Has bree turkey and cherries and onions. Good portions for price. Did takeout and each samich came with a pickle and chips Baked goods were decent

Dining out in these late days of the COVID pandemic, service has been very challenging. Scovie's has done a great job maintaining excellent service in spite of all of this. The older fellow greeting you at the door was very friendly and helpful, and the our massive take-out order was ready way sooner than quoted. Nothing was amiss, in spite of the massive amount of food. The sandwiches were enjoyed by all.

*COVID19 Edition* The whole experience was just. fine. We went for dinner, and as far as COVID19 precautions, the hostess was wearing a mask and the tables were spaced. I wasn't impressed with the smaller face shield the cook was wearing. The service was slow. The restaurant wasn't full by any standards, and yet the food just came very very slowly.
Our waitress was very friendly and nice, so I'm inclined to believe that it was the kitchen holding things up. The lobster bisque was pretty solid. It wasn't too salty and had some good flavors. I was concerned that the croutons on the salad were going to crack a crown in my mouth. They were pretty close to inedible. Our entrees were actually pretty good.
The walleye wasn't too sweet. The chicken marsala was pretty tasty. So why three stars? Cause it wasn't $24 an entree good. In all, I hate to say this place might be a tad overrated. It just wasn't the experience we were looking for, and we'd rather hedge our bets and try somewhere new than lose a chunk of cash coming here again.

We had takeout from here and it was decent. I ordered the BLT and lobster bisque - nothing special. I would have given it a higher rating, but when I was there they did not follow proper COVID procedures. The woman at the cash register was in a mask, but the two women preparing the food behind the counter were not wearing masks or gloves.

After a bad experience down the street in which we walked out, we came here. We were greeted warmly, noticed the care to hygiene duringvthis time was exceptional. Our service was friendly and warm. I felt welcomed. The food was delicious, home made and generous. Prices were very inexpensive. I've spent as much at McDonald's for less food and here I had a beer!.

I looked up this deli for lunch as I was driving through Charlevoix on July 4th. Ignore the other negative reviews about it being costly or whatever, people need to check their privilege. You get exactly what you pay for= quality food. I live in Seattle and travel a lot. My sandwich was excellent! Fantastic service, on the 4th!, as the place was super busy.
I bought extra goodies for family: the fruit bars (berry & lemon) were delicious and my kids/nieces devoured them, and the cherry pie was eaten with glee. Eric behind the counter was gloriously snarky but very helpful, and had a busy deli running smoothly. My kind of professional service. I appreciated the honest experience. This is a great spot and I will make detours to eat here again. Get take out and sit on the sidewalk walk tables or across the street at the park. Enjoy the nice town, view, and a really great meal.

I am so glad we stopped in to Scovie's while camping at Fisherman's Island State Park! It definitely lives up to the hype. It's a little outdated inside but the people are so nice and friendly, and the food was awesome and hit the spot after walking around downtown and by the water. My boyfriend and I both got a half sandwich and cup of soup - I got the Bada Bing (Italian) panini and he got the Lincoln Tunnel (corned beef / turkey pastrami reuben).
The mushroom bisque was the soup of the day and it was so good! Tons of mushroom flavor without being overpowering. The sandwiches were both delicious as well - balanced and the perfect portion for lunch. The combos come with chips and a pickle. They have beer and wine as well and lots of other sandwiches, burgers, and salads. Note that they ask no strollers come in to the space as it's a little cramped. I loved this place and will definitely be back whenever I'm in Charlevoix!

Scovies is a ma' and pa' casual restaurant and deli. We came for lunch, so I can't speak for dinner. It wasnt too busy, the staff was helpful. Menu items were mostly sandwiches, burgers, wraps, daily soups, and a few salads. I ordered the sweet potato burger without cheese and a bun (pictured) it was good but the mango chutney was VERY sweet. My coworker got the Asian wrap (pictured) he rated it a solid 8.8/10 and reccomends it. Prices per plate average $10.
In all, Scovies sells sold deli food (great cookies too- I had one last yr) in a comfortable atmosphere. Nothing special but great if your looking for a place to take the family.
