Bubbalou's Bodacious Bar-B-Q

We ordered babyback ribs, Mac & Cheese and fried okra. No complaints. Delicious!

Visited Bubbalou's in Altamonte Springs with my daughter after a weekend-long volleyball tournament in Orlando. We were staying a night off Altamonte Drive and were looking for a place to grab a quick meal. Bubbalou's had a good rating on Google, and the photos looked tempting - so we gave it a shot. I am glad we did! The people were so friendly. The prices reasonable.

But the food was fantastic. She got a fried catfish sandwich (that looked like a po-boy). I had a two meat dinner with brisket (amazing) and turkey (wonderful). We got fries, beans, mac and cheese as sides - and I also ordered a side of fried okra. While the okra was great - it was six bucks for a small "boat" of okra. Regardless - the overall experience was fantastic.

I DO wish however they either served Coca Cola products - OR had Diet Cheerwine (because they had regular Cheerwine). I will visit again the next time I find myself in the area.

First time order take out from this place for both me & my husband. Just called to order. We both order the Bodacious combo because it has everything: chicken, pork rib, brisket. Love the meat. I personally think it's less oily compared to Sony bbq. The portion is big enough for 2 meals. Only 1 thing I didn't like was the coleslaw taste. I'll just exchange that side dish for another next time. Oh, I also tried their chocolate slide cake & it tastes just right, not too sweet.

My go too for southern style barbecue and foods. They have awesome meals portions, great sweet tea, $$ moderate prices, plus a massive double cheeseburger. This place is technically a dine in restaurant however they have a really good drive through. Its not as fast as fast food but relative to the food they are making its fast. Parking is good and the place is well kept and clean

I ordered online but wasn't familiar with the process. You are given the option of ordering online via Uber Eats or postmates. I chose Uber Eats and opted to pickup the order. When I arrived, I'm told they don't have online ordering. I pulled over and double checked because I've been charged over $60 for my order. I go back to the drive thru and I'm told that Uber orders have to be picked up inside.

Now I have to find a park, get my walker out and maneuver into the restaurant. Upon entry, there's a sign directing you to the Uber section. There's a table with Uber orders and a sign instructing you to wait to be assisted. A young lady greeted me and then walked away. She saw me still standing there and asked if I needed help. Finally I get my order and can return to my vehicle.

I ordered grilled chicken, collard greens, black-eyed peas, sweet potatoes, chicken tenders with fries, and a cheeseburger and fries. The sweet potatoes is actually just a baked sweet potato. I was told the cheeseburger and the tenders were average. Everything else was good, fortunately because those were the reasons I ordered from the restaurant. I will order again but now I know to have someone with me to pickup the order.

Awesome 4 meat platter with a great sauce to dip with soft garlic bread and collards. Great mac and cheese and corn bread. The beans are so freaking yummy with the meat. They also have sum sweet tasting cole slaw. Don't forget to try the sweet tea with the lemon wedge. Keep up the great job Bubbalou's

Good bbq food. Nice cornbread and brisket. Chocolate cake was probably the best. They didn't have burnt ends?

First off let me say my experience was great at the drive thru. The only reason I'm not giving them a 5 star is because of the food portion. $18 for a quarter chicken (which my hand was bigger then) and 2 ribs. Yes there is about 20 fries, a double shot glass of beans, 2 garlic breads and another double shot of Cole slaw but come on guys for $18 it should be either half chicken and 2 ribs or quarter chicken and half rack ribs. Yes I double checked with the manager to make sure it wasn't a mistake.

Initial presentation of the restaurant was good. Wait staff was nice. Food was sub par. My collard greens were tasteless which is probably great if you are on a low sodium diet from your cardiologist. My pulled pork sandwich was cold. The beans were good. those are hard to mess up. Alligator never came out. Kids only got one corn dog because the front forgot to ring the second through.

So after they brought all the food out we had to go back up to the front to stand in line to order another, then the family waited for the last one to come out. But here is the grand finale. The "Turkey Dinner" they are advertising for is an absolute BBQ shame. $15 for 5 pieces of cold deli meat. Literally- look at the picture! Money aside that is insane. When we complained. they heated it up. Save your money. I hate it for them but the truth hurts. Let the picture do the rest of the talking.

Great BBQ place with a lot of charm and great food, friendly and attentive staff. We used to regularly visit the Bubbalou's near UCF until it closed recently. It's good to know we can still get the same great food with a little longer drive. The brisket and their grilled chicken plates are my favorites. Generous portions, and great variety of entrees and sides.

Lots of fun items to look at in the dining area. Also a nice patio out back for the cooler months. Note that Google Maps does not seem to distinguish between drive-through and indoor dining when reporting how "busy" it is. It showed as extremely busy on our last visit yet there was only one other party seated inside and service was fast - but there was a long line for the drive-through that it seemed to be reflecting.
