Services
The Pine Valley Market, a Wilmington landmark, began when Lauren "Lolo" Shannon expanded the butcher shop to include a grill, catering services, wines and gourmet items. The market is built on Shannon's foundation and is a reflection of the culinary and etrepruneral blend of owners Christi Ferretti and Kathy Webb.
Bite size packages of puff pastry filled with tender filet mignon, demi glaze and mushroom douxelle. Loaded with backfin lump crab, these little gems have just enough filler to bind them together and the perfect amount of seasoning and spice to highlight the natural beauty of the crab. 1oz crab cakes are the size of a silver dollar and are the perfect two bit hors d'oeuvre.
Thank you so much for all your hard towards Grayson and Stephen's wedding dinner and cocktail hour. It takes a true professional to make things seem effortless- especially since the rain changed our plan for cocktail hour! The food was delicious and the service exceptional. We will certainly recommend you for anyone in our area who needs catering in the Wilmington area.

Good food and local grocery items. My only complaint is they should ask if you want ranch with your chips. We've had two separate individuals charge us for it and we didn't request the sauce. Overall, great local cafe and shop.

If I was reviewing on taste only, it would be a 5. But I have to review everything. The Rueben tasted awesome, but there was not enough corned beef on it. If the meat is measured per sandwich, I think their thumb was on the scale. The homemade chips I got ( out of potato salad) were a handful of little pieces of chips. To bad too because the couple I ate were really good!

Another 5 star meal today! The staff are fantastic and the food is out of this world! It is SO clean in there, too! I had the quiche Lorraine with a salad and the ranch was great! My some had the Philly cheesesteak with pasta salad and chips. The chips were off the chain!

Pine Valley Market catered our wedding and the food was fantastic. Guests kept telling us how good the meal was. Easy to work with, prompt responses, worked to get the menu exactly how we like it. Great fresh fruit options and even got crab cakes on our buffet menu. Wait staff was great and Christi was awesome to work with. Also, very consistent. I experienced their food at a friend's wedding years ago, and it was just as good at my own. Great experience!

Christi catered our event and the food was absolutely amazing! She cooked for a large group of people and not one detail was missed. I definitely recommend her for your catered events and I can't wait to visit her restaurant!

We used Pine Valley Market for our Rehearsal Dinner. It was AMAZING. We got ribs and dry rub chicken with a Caesar salad, season vegetables, garlic smashed potatoes (OMG) and pasta salad and cheddar biscuits. I cannot even put into words how good everything was. The garlic smashed potatoes were EVERYTHING. Christi was SO easy to work with. Everything was on time, great price and so yummy. We will be using them again for other caterer events. It was perfect. And the amount of food you get for the price is awesome. We really enjoyed this food.

Yum yum! One of our favorites in Wilmington! The BEST hummus in town, tastes homemade. Everything we've had always tasted amazing- the chicken pita sandwiches, chili, French fries, desserts, fresh ground beef, creative daily specials. Wonderful ladies doing an amazing job here!

I went for lunch today with a friend (my first time here and her second), as we planned to do some shopping nearby. I was told the sandwiches were great. I had the grilled Ruben sandwich, which was good, but it needed more 1000 island dressing and more cheese, which I could barely taste. At least the amount of corned beef was decent. The potato salad was very flavorful with a lot of mustard flavor - something different than the typical potato salads - but the portion was very small.

I checked out the fresh meats. Some nice selections but were pretty expensive per pound. The filets looked beautiful. They also have a prepared frozen foods (lasagna, Shephard's pie, chicken pot pie, enchiladas, etc.) at reasonable prices. I may have to try a couple of these out.

I went here with the primary goal of buying some really nice fresh meat. But they had more "premaid meals" and frozen meat. Now the main chef, he is a talented cook.there is no doubt about that. But I've been disappointed with my trips to this location.again, no knock on the chef's skills. I went to a cooking competition and I voted for him to win, I thought he did a better job then the ceviche cook

I've ordered from a handful of places over the years for Thanksgiving or Christmas. Pine Valley Market's Thanksgiving meal was hands-down the best I have ever had. The turkey was super moist -- not at all overcooked. The mashed potatoes and gravy? Out of this world -- better than I can cook :-. Oddly I loved the garlic cheese biscuits the best -- little frozen nuggets of love that are simply out of this world after baking. I give Pine Valley Market my strongest possible recommendation -- overachievers in every sense! Highly recommend, and I will order from them again!

We bought a rack of lamb that we cooked at home and got a couple of their HUGE twice baked potatoes. The potatoes were some of the best I ever had and the lamb was delicious. Christi was very nice and knowledgeable and threw in some thyme and rosemary so I didn't have to go to another store. Great experience! Cristi, I don't know how to reply to your reply, lol. She LOVED it. I definitely under ordered because she easily ate half of that rack! I will have to get 2-3 from now on. Thanks again, you guys rock!

Haven't ordered any of their prepared food yet but I do frequent their grocery section. Have been able to acquire harder to find selections then at the grocery store. Demi, veal, Lamb and duck to name a few. Friendly staff with all the answers to the questions you have. Have been, am now, and will continue to be a customer!

The food was delicious. I had the grilled chicken pita wrap and my friend had the gobbler special. The house made chips are the best I've ever had! So thin and crispy. The only reason for 4 stars is that there was a mess up and our food sat in to go containers inside for a long while before I finally went in and asked about it. (We were eating on-site at one of their outdoor tables.) It was still good, even with the delay. 8/10 would go again.

I got the most outstanding cake for Thanksgiving dinner at Pine Valley Market this year. It was pumpkin spice caramel with incredible icing. It was beautiful to look at and so tasty. I would highly recommend

Pine valley market catered for us for a small gathering and they were so great to work with! I highly recommend them for your events. They made the whole process very easy from the platter selections to pickup. Every platter was beautiful and delicious, but I can't say enough about the mango cheddar savory cheesecake-I can't stop thinking about it! Now I have to go back to try the fig and blue cheese option!

This is my favorite market for preprepared food. It is well managed and the food is delicious. I brought my disabled hubby with me yesterday so he could see how system works (and get out of house). He was most impressed.

This is in response to the owner. Dear owner. I did not appreciate reaching through a mutual friend of mine through Facebook. There was no need to involve anyone. You should have just addressed me directly. Furthermore my reviews are 50 percent negative if had read all of them. I can appreciate you being a local small business but I also have concerns and I am allowed to post them. I'm sorry if did not like it but it does come with the territory when you own a small business.

I have never had a friendly experience there. I have had good lunches but never a pleasant. Staff. One of my girlfriends that lives behind you used to come in all the time but doesn't anymore because of the same issue. I'm sorry. You might want to check the staff. I have a lot on my plate right now and can afford the time to keeping writing to you and our mutual friend. I am willing to come back in soon and see your changes. Thank you so much

I was told about this place from a local. Since I'm not from the area, I trust word of mouth. I've been to Wilmington at least two times prior to coming to this establishment. I had no idea that I had driven passed it numerous times. The place was a good size, very open, plenty of seating, and tons to look at. There was a display of BBQ sauces, wines, and other goodies around the perimeter.

And on the opposite side, you had a display of quite a few items from their menu. They honestly serve just about everything here, and also do catering. First time here, I decided to keep it simple. I ordered their signature burger with their homemade chips. The burger came opened-faced, dry, and with the toppings on the side. Perfect for patrons to dress up the way they want to.

Their homemade chips were light, not greasy and not coated with a ton of salt. If there is an option to try something homemade, then that's what I'll typically try. I was stuffed, but love banana pudding. So I ordered a slice of banana pudding cake to-go. Well, it didn't take long for me to dive into it after I left. As mentioned, they have quite a selection on their menu and have specials often. I would definitely come back to try something different.

There is not a single item for breakfast or lunch that I don't recommend, ALL of the food is great. They sell wine, select cuts including bacon (key), every delicious home made food you can imagine, and even desserts. The staff is second to none and my wife and I will be back.

Brunch is one of my favorite things. There is a large group of friends that meets monthly and June's location was here at PVM. A few hours before our planned meet up someone reminded the group that it was also Father's day and we may need to change locations because of the size of the group. Someone in our group knows the owners well so she texted them and they agreed to save tables for our large party.

I am not sure if they usually take reservations but it was very appreciated. Most of the group arrived on time and the tables were waiting. My wife has never been here before and she was really impressed with the prepared food, meat and wine selection. We both can't wait to go back to get a whole rabbit or duck breast to try out some new recipes.

Anyway the vibe inside is quick and casual. You can help yourself to coffee or drinks and then order/pay at the counter. I decided on the sweet potato hash special, which had sausage and caramelized onions. It normally comes with eggs, grits and a biscuit but I don't' eat eggs so they were easily substituted for fresh fruit. My wife ordered the biscuits and gravy both plates were well priced and the quality was plenty to even have leftovers.

I noticed when we ordered that a lot of the items were premade which is often a turn off for me because it has to be done right. PVM delivered! Not only was the food super fast but warm and fresh tasting. Our group of fifteen was all fed within 10 minutes of ordering. When I noticed my biscuit was missing I asked one of the employees walking around and it appeared instantly still warm from the oven.

Overall it was crazy busy and the seating area is somewhat small but I was amazed out how seamlessly the staff cranked out food and reseat tables despite the holiday rush. I think my only complaint was the salt and pepper shakers because nothing would come out. I ended up unscrewing the tops to get out the seasoning. Tip: Ask for the real jam. One of the women in our group said to pass on the packaged jam and asked one of the employee's for the real stuff. OMG! I was basically drinking it with my biscuit it was that damn good.

Pine Valley Market has grown up from a primarily catering first/take out second establishment. I would go and pick up a twice baked horseradish potato for emergency sustenance when I was busy doing DIY projects. Well I noticed that in the last few years, PVM quietly had some "work" done. Like a Wilmywood Starlet. A nip here.(change of seating and increased floor plan) A tuck there.(happy beachy paint colors) And a dedicated menu to carry you past the comfort food you can take out after dining.

Now PVM is a solid dependable place to go for a quick bite or a treat. (They have cookies and cakes people!) I am a breakfast fiend so, I took my friend just the other day. and yes, was surprised yet again by some even more awesomeness. Real Homemade Southern Biscuits. Now that might seem like a no brainer, but some folks seem to have lost the art.

We won't go there. let me just pause and celebrate. whoo ha! Eggs were scrambled just the way each of us liked. me hard, my friend soft. Plenty of crispy bacon. And that Biscuit and compote on the table. Like a bottle of celebratory champagne. Light, airy and gone too soon. Pine Valley Market has got it goin' on.

Today was the second time I visited this cute market, and the first time I bought anything. Both times the staff was very friendly without the fake "I-have-to-smile-cause-I-work-here" kind of friendly. Consistently nice staff encourages me to come back. I bought three frozen prepared meals, eggplant parmesan, gumbo, and chicken enchiladas. Tonight I had the eggplant parm and it definitely exceeded my expectations.

After reading the reviews here, I thought "How great could a frozen meal really be?" But after cooking it at home, it tasted really fresh and nicely prepared. And not too salty, which is a major reason why I avoid buying frozen meals at the grocery store. The prices ranged from $9-$12 for frozen meals, definitely worth the money. Just a tip, if you take it home straight from the market, it may take longer in the oven than indicated.

The instructions said 350 degrees for 60-90 minutes, but it actually took about 2 hours. I imagine this is because the freezer there is colder than the average freezer. It had no time to thaw out much from the market to home to the oven. I cooked it with aluminum foil on top for 90 minutes, then took the foil off and cooked for a further 20 minutes. Next time I'm feeling lazy with dinner I will definitely be back!
