Me and the family attended a rehearsal dinner at Toscana, and we were severely impressed. I can't speak to their regular menu, but will comment on the buffet style dinner we received. All of the courses, starting with the charcuterie board(with a great selection of cheese and Italian cured meats) to the amazing calamari, caesar salads before the main, whuch consisted of pasta bolognese, chicken picatta, shrimp scampi, a spinach ricotta stuffed Tortellini, and grilled veggies.

Also amazing kudos to our waiter for getting us an order of angel hair pasta with butter for our 2yr old. All of this was followed by dessert, consisting of cannoli, chocolate strawberrroes, tortes, and brownies. All courses were appropriately timed, and were great portions for each table. Overall, our service was phenomenal. If we are ever in the area again. We will definitely visit Toscana for regular dinner service.

Save your money! The food was basic the server was nice the manager not so much. Cheeseboard is decent but not worth the price.

My husband and I came here for Wilmington restaurant week! The food looked really good on Yelp but the reviews were alittle concerning. I decided to give them a shot anyway. The restaurant week menu was alittle underwhelming but we found some things we would like. Our waitress asked us what type of water we wanted since we said we wanted water so I said tap vs. sparkling (which is fine whatever).

We got two glasses of RT water like they were indeed from the tap. I noticed later every other table had cold ice water served to them. Strange. We got bread and oil quickly which we inhaled. After we ordered we waited atleast 30 mins for our first appetizers. We noticed the restaurant getting more crowded and the wait staff running around. We asked for more bread and it took even longer to get.

For some reason it seemed like other tables were getting served their meals much faster than ours. For apps we got the flatbread and meatballs. The meatballs seemed like frozen meatballs (doesnt seem homemade) but the sauce and mushrooms in the dish was good! The flatbread was pretty good too. Our meal was another 30 mins (1 hr) and we still haven't gotten our entrees.

Our waitress didn't even check on us or apologize for the delay it's like she didn't care about our table at all. Eventually we got our entrees. My husbands shrimp pasta was pretty good while mine was just not good. I got the tuna loin with saffron risotto with lemon sauce. It looks like the sauce just sat there and dripped off the risotto.

The risotto was way over cooked and mushy. It looked like my dish was sitting under the heat lamp for awhile. I ate some of the tuna loin and the risotto was just gross. We got our desserts alittle but faster this time. My chocolate cake was pretty good and my husband enjoyed his tiramisu. We were annoyed how long everything was and how expensive it still was for the quality of food. Not sure if I would return. There are way better Italian places in Wilmington in my opinion. I gave 2 stars one for the appetizer and one for the dessert.

Really wanted to like this place more than I actually did. The food wasn't terrible, and it wasn't outstanding, it just.was. The grilled avocado appetizer was great, but the rest was just "ok." The gnocchi dish was bland, the pizza sauce tasted tinny, and the rest was unremarkable. Service was very good.

Great food and awesome service. Ordered the polpo, grilled avocado, short rib, and pomodoro pasta (they were accommodating for gluten-free diet as well!). Their cocktails were also fantastic (strong and flavorful) and arrived on time (unlike what other reviews say). For dessert we ordered their lemon cake. It was superb! Alyson (our server) was very attentive and thoughtful. Overall, we can wait to go back to try other dishes!

Always my food to go place. The 3 for 10 is a great deal. Sandwiches are also very tasty and pretty decent coffee

I was at the restaurant for the first time a few years pre-Covid. I returned Friday 3/18/22 with my 28yo daughter and a co-worker after another area restaurant was booked. We were soooo glad that happened. From the moment we walked through the door the hostess was welcoming and friendly. Our waiter Amadu was very attentive, personable, offered suggestions from the menu and asked the cook to make me linguine and clams in a scrumptious white sauce which I was craving that night and was not on the menu.

He even gave us a small ice cream treat when he heard I had celebrated my 50th birthday recently! It was a very personable and enjoyable night. The food was delish, the ambiance was EVERYTHING, and our WAITER provided EXCEPTIONAL service. We will be back! It is a MUST stop if you are in the Wilmington area and will be worth the trip if not!

This is my second time to Toscana in about a month and will be my last for a while! In both experiences, the wait time to get our meal was over 90 minutes. We ended up leaving last night after waiting 90 minutes and finishing a bottle of wine (to which the server wanted to know if we wanted another. No, we wanted our meal.) The restaurant was packed and the servers were doing everything they can but it's tough to recommend a place when you can't have food in under an hour and a half. Please stop accepting so many reservations if you can't accomodate them!

It was fine, nothing special. The service was good; our server was very friendly. The restaurant did get pretty full around 6pm and you could tell it was a lot for the servers. The breadsticks were very dense and heavy on the stomach. I got the angel hair pasta with tomato sauce. I felt like there was something missing. The sauce was incredibly one-note, although I did appreciate the chunks of tomatoes.

We didn't have room for dessert since the breadsticks were so filling; I couldn't even finish my pasta. I left with a full stomach although I can't say I was completely satisfied.

For many years, this was our favorite restaurant. I'm sorry to say that the quality of the food and service is less than average. The chicken was very dry, the pasta was over cooked and the salad was drowned in balsamic, no olive oil it would seem. The wine menu was sparse as well. I hope that they can bring it back to its former glory.

My wife and I stopped in for dinner during restaurant week. I mention this as the items we ordered were from a special prefix menu. The restaurant had three outdoor tables which we were able to reserve specifically. This is great for those who are still anxious about indoor dining and COVID. The food was very good. The service was ok, but not what I'd define as great.

Our initial waiter was nice, but the food service was slow. Took quite a while for our drinks and food to arrive. I know restaurants are doing their best with short staffs, but it was quite a while from seating to drinks to order to food arriving. Over an hour from the time we were seated to when our food arrived. The restaurant week menu gave a limited option for three courses.

They all had fancy Italian names, which I no longer remember. I chose the baked ricotta, the octopus pasta dish, and the caramel cheesecake. My wide had the charcuterie plate, the agnolotti, and lemon mascarpone cake. I really enjoyed all the food. I'd be happy to go back again and partake in the traditional menu. Overall positive experience.

Just came from Toscana's delightful outside seating area. Shout out to Brian who took such good care of us. Delicious dinner. 3-for 30 was so worth it. Topped it off with a nice bottle of wine. Give yourself a treat. you deserve it!

Food is delicious and fairly fast. Great place for lunch. Their menu has something for everyone so you can't go wrong if you have a group. Seating outside is perfect for the warmer months.

Went last night for the first time in a long time. Our server was fantastic! I think his name was Joe. Very attentive and friendly. The complimentary breadsticks were a bit hard, however, you could tell the olive oil they served with it was good quality. The fried calamari was average and I got the eggplant stuffed ravioli and it was just ok. I asked the server for a dry wine suggestion and he was spot on. My friend got the gnocchi and she said it was very good.

Toscana has high quality food at a high price. However, the portions are extremely small, and the size of the 12$ shrimp Caesar salad had me buggin. After we finished our Toscana i promptly made an entire bag of tots and ate them all, so be prepared. Otherwise really good.

Totally love this place! I have been going for 20 years and the quality of food has always been consistently outstanding. During this crisis, I would strongly recommend the take out or delivery!

Dinner with friends and the food was above average. The scallops were delicious, as was the funghi pizzette. Fresh berries and the coffee for dessert was great. What wasn't great was the service. The restaurant had multiple servers and there were 4 or five seated tables. Our waiter was no where to be found most of the evening. We heard the other table asking the host to find him (Joe). So food good, service not good.

Restaurant week visit Hadn't been in a while It WAS an old favorite Not anymore Sat 6 people at a booth that comfortably would seat 3. Pulled up chairs:/ to the booth and crammed 4 into the booth Restaurant week menu Chicken dish was tough Shell dish was awful Salmon was served over mushy risotto Wine pours were very minimal Desert that came with the menu was literally two bites a bread pudding Terrible plate clearing between courses Obviously no training if staff here!

The restaurant was so warm we were all uncomfortable. Waitress was sub par terrible service Big party going on on the other side of the wall Very disappointing Food was not good Service was not good had to stand up to get our check after waiting a half an hour And then they added the gratuity on to our party of 6.yes 6.what! So a mandatory tip on bad food and service! How rude! $300 meal plus Definitely not worth it. Much better restaurants in Wilmington! Atmosphere here needs an upgrade A complete makeover And a new chef

The food was excellent. The service was inattentive at best. However, it was Father's Day and there were only two servers on staff for brunch. The management needed to ensure they were fully staffed. My server was so busy that he misheard my order and brought me the incorrect fettuccine entree, but when he didn't check back, I ate it anyway, because I didn't want to wait any longer. I'd come back, but not on a holiday. Hopefully, there will be enough staff.

I would have given this place five stars had it not been for the coffee pot. I was there yesterday for an event. There was a buffet, dessert table, and coffee/tea area. When I poured the coffee, the lid on it malfunctioned, and boiling hot coffee splattered all over my hand and the table. I ended up with a second degree burn. The entire point of having a lid is that the liquid either a.) pours out normally b.) doesn't pour out at all.

Please don't serve customers a beverage dispenser with a damaged lid, ESPECIALLY if there's scalding hot liquid inside. Buy a new one, it's worth the money. Continuing to serve that to customers is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

As a vegetarian who prefers to eat gluten-free, I know I'm not the easiest customer for a restaurant to please. Still, this place has a little room for improvement, so I thought I'd mention my experiences here. Not wanting to eat meat, fish, or gluten, I made a meal out of half an app and a small entree. My food was tasty: the grilled avocado app was very good, though it definitely needed a light sprinkle of salt, and there was none on the table.

Our server disappeared for such long stretches of time that I didn't want to wait and just ate it sans salt. My small (read: very small) salad entree was listed as beets, arugula, cheese, and almonds. I got an unexpected upgrade to pine nuts instead of almonds. I'm not complaining, but it would have been nice to be notified of changes to the dish I was ordering.

A word of advice to gluten-free customers: After ordering I later learned that there was a risotto dish under the "pasta" section of the menu. Since I avoid most gluten, I didn't even look at the pasta. Strange that they would put a risotto dish there. Also, the dessert menu has many (three I think?) gluten-free options including a gluten-free brownie sundae.

It clearly mentions gluten-free on the dessert menu. However their main menu never once mentions gluten-free options or uses GF icons or anything. My boyfriend's trout meal was disappointing. It was served skin side up (a bit unusual?) and said it came with potatoes and a pea puree. His peas were whole, not pureed, and the potatoes were nearly raw. Not just al dente. Basically just off-raw. The server was very sweet, but not quite as present as he could have been, as our water glasses went unfilled for long stretches.

We started in the lounge which is so chill, I could easily spend the night. The vibe throughout this restaurant is cool and contemporary without being overly hipster. I ordered the Polpo (octopus) salad over greens which was prepared near perfectly. My Pizzette from the wood fired oven was big enough for this fat guy but probably would require a doggie-box for most weight watchers. Wifey had a nice glass of dry chardonnay, but having slammed two bourbons before we arrived, I stuck to iced tea. $24 for what I would describe as an excellent bang for the buck. I can't wait to bring friends next time. Call me a fan.

This place is kind of slow even for take out but the food quality is pretty good! I got the salmon with sauce on the side and pesto pasta to-go. It was around $13.00- decent food and I was surprisingly full even though it didn't look like they gave me enough pasta- thank goodness I didn't order more even though I felt like it. I will be back to sit in and eat next time!
