Worst penns I had fish was nasty fries were hard and ranch was watery

Chicken nasty and oak the only good there was there corn balls

Pretty good place for a fish house - nice selection of fried goodies and friendly staff.

Fish was WAY over salted, hush puppies were mushy. I ate take out a couple of weeks earlier and it was great, but the other day was horrible, plus we sat outside in the drive through forever. This was in Brandon.

Everything was wonderful, I was greeted with a smile. Everyone was on task and my food was hot and fresh.

This place is great. Food is delicious. It's very clean and friendly people. Prices are very reasonable.

Got the catfish fried Green tomatoes fried mushrooms mac and cheese hush puppies and fried green beans good definitely going back if I'm in the area the staff is friendly

Penn's just isn't what it used to be in my opinion, it wasn't terrible, just not as good as it used to be as far as I'm concerned. My catfish filets were cold and tasted as if they had been sitting for a while, it definitely wasn't very fresh. Most of the filets were small and they were pretty dry, seems there was more breading than fish with a few of them. Also, the sides were very disappointing as far as portion size goes. This was my first visit to Penn's in a few years, unfortunately I don't think I'll be going back any time soon unless it's a buffet.

Service was good but on two different occasions we ate there and the portions that we got and the size of the pieces of fish and chicken was pitiful! We use to get a plate full when we ordered but evidently not any more. I told them today that we would not b coming back. That includes my mom, my family and my son and his family.

I ordered the chicken on a stick had to wait 10 minutes which was fine. Mac n cheese was the best. The chicken on the stick, not so much. Terrible. Only two pieces of chicken on it and no potatoes just one piece of onion. Come on now y'all can do better than this.

She was rushing when taking my order, fast talking me. When I got home and took a bite of my fish it was spoiled. $10.49 for a catfish platter and half of the fish was so small and fried so hard that I wouldn't have been able to eat it even if it wasn't spoiled. I guess I'll try the one on Old Fannin Rd next time.

Shrimp and okra were good. The catfish was basically a cornmeal chip that would snap in half. Took it back and the cook said, Dat aint my fish, I dont know where dat came from loudly and rudely. Will never go back to this location.

It was a nice place to have a meal with my mom. Food was hot and servings were generous.

Went by there today for dinner and waited at the drive thru for about 10 minutes without a response. Finally, I drove off and see the two young ladies just standing there and one was at the window doing nothing. It's sad because there wasn't anyone inside and they just refuse to work. I wish I knew the corporate number to make a verbal complaint. SAD SAD SAD!

Went to Penn's on Lake Harbour in Ridgeland and ordered the large catfish plate with corn nuggets, fries and hush puppies as the sides with an order of fried green tomatoes. Everything was horrible with the exception of the fried green tomatoes. Tasted like they all had been under the warmer for hours and maybe dropped back into the grease to try and get hot again! Horrible!

This for almost 20 bucks. To their credit I called and told them how bad it was and they said bring it back and they would make it again. I said no thanks. Who wants to go back out to get food after working and making it home. NEVER AGAIN!

The first mark against them is they have a 'B' my food as already ordered and paid for when I noticed it. The restaurant is one is those of the beaten path kind of spots but they do have a drive thru if you don't want to eat in. This particular day they had the fans on and it was rather chill but the bathrooms where clean a plus for me. The food itself was okay a little on the salty side for me. A place I can probably eat at but not a favorite.

Bit of a wait because the speaker wasn't working properly. But the wait was worth it. Not sure why but our food was much better than I've ever had at Penn's before. Congrats to the employees holding down the fort 3/22/17!

Pretty much my go to place for a good meal that is off my meal plan. My family and I love to visit after church and have gotten to be regulars here. They have recently changed management / ownership and the feel is certainly much improved. We have always loved the food but the atmosphere is much better. We enjoyed our meal and even got to watch some of the olympics while we did. If you have to have something fried and tasty, it is hard to do better than this place.

First, I'm not a complainer and I'm a very optimistic/positive person. I would never take the time or effort to write about an experience unless it was bad. I was at Penn's on Lake Harbour this evening and ordered a catfish snack. When the girl handed me the bag in the drive thru, I joked that it felt so light and wondered if any food was in there.

Something told me to open my box. I found 2 (two) scraggly pieces of fish and about 7 (seven) fries. This cost me $6.38. I could have gone to KFC or Popeyes, Taco Bell, McD's, Wendy's, Burger King or any pick up window and received a 4 for 4 or a full combo for less than what I paid. Yes, I understand that seafood is more costly but this is RIDICULOUS!

The worker even said she understood the frustration and felt the same way but it was the new rule. I'm right down the street from this location but I refuse to spend another dime in a place that doesn't value the customer or their hard earned money! Penn's I'm embarrassed for you!

This is my second and last review of this place. I never, ever write bad reviews unless, well they are bad. Even though the outside menu says. "Comes with side" you don't get a choice its just automatically fries. Or at least that's what I was told. The website also says that what I ordered, a oyster poboy, you get a side of your choice. But whatever. I won't be back! Management needs to revamp this location! Irritated!

Small portions and very average. Go to Captain D's. I went on a Friday night at 7 and very few customers. I should have known.

Penn's. Good food, but missing some other key elements. 1) I have never gotten anything bad at Penn's, however sometimes I don't get what I ordered. 2) They are slow. If you are thinking of eating at the Penn's on Lake Harbour and see more than 2 cars in the drive-thru, you may want to rethink it. On more than one occassion, I have seen someone drive off because the wait was ridiculous. 3) Their friendliness is hit or miss as well.

Sometimes you get someone over the top nice, other times you get the surley, barely speak to you kind. If you do go - I definitely recommend the chicken plate, chicken on a stick plate or the fried catfish plate. And they have Comeback sauce - but it is a little over-powering on the spice to me.

Shrimp po boy was good. Have had their catfish before and it was EXCELLENT! Very quick and courteous service.
