We had dinner here last night. Our server Joel did a great job. The restaurant is beautiful inside and out. The food was good but the dish we both ordered was the Bertha Palmer which is their version of surf and turf. Which was good with a 6 oz Filet and lobster tail. The lobster tail was only 1/2 of a 3 oz tail. I've had shrimp that was larger. Hence only 4 stars. When you spend almost $50 for dinner I think that you should get at least a whole lobster tail that is between 3 & 6 oz.

We normally visit for Mothers Day Brunch. The price has gotten extremely high for this event. The amount of items have been reduced but still pretty good quality overall. Not sure I will do it again next year, based on this years experience. Plenty of other options available.

Mattison's catered my wedding at the Crosley and I have nothing but good things to say. Kourtney was awesome and easy to work with. The food was absolutely incredible - everyone was talking about it! Steak was cooked to perfection (medium rare) which almost never happens at weddings. I highly recommend!

Oh dear. Easter Brunch buffet at Mattison's was a big disappointment. The seating was unfortunate. We were on the back patio where the tables weren't fully set up with only one other couple. Perhaps they were the parents of the dazed busboy who scarfed bites from their plates every time he passed by. The waitress was friendly and professional but clearly challenged by some (computer?) confusion behind the scenes.

The carver served my husband prime rib trimmings that were so disgusting it prompted an apologetic visit from a manager. The rest of the buffet was adequate at best. Perhaps the days of lavish spreads have passed given staffing shortages and rising costs. Speaking of cost, the total bill for 2 was $160 for the buffet and two drinks. Sorry to trash you on Easter Sunday, Mattison's, but this was a bad experience.

My friend and I organize monthly luncheons for the ladies who live in Esplanade. LWR, FL. We usually get 40-50 attendees and had 48 Friday, Feb. 11th, 2022, at Mattison's 41, Sarasota, FL. We worked with Jacque Armstrong, and were so thrilled with the event from start to finish. The servers, Jay and Ted were a "well oiled" machine! The manager, Robert, checked on us also. The food, service, space were all top notch, and we've told Jacque we'll book it again next year! I'd highly recommend Mattison's 41 for any and all dining.

10 starts, if available Great to Fabulous restaurant! Classy, up-scale, setting. Not crowed seating. Up-scale decor. Salad with blue cheese appetizer was the best. I had DUCK breast and a leg. It was perfectly cooked and delicious. Others had Grouper, grouper, and Seafood Gumbo (which was very popular at other tables). All was great. Our server was excellent. The wine list was not over priced and contained some of my favorites. We will definitely be back when ever we're in Venice.

Great evening Our visit to Mattison's tonight was nothing but great. It was my first visit, my wife has been there a few times for lunch. She knew they had some outdoor seating, important to us as we have so far successfully avoided catching Covid. We called ahead and went not long after they opened. We had separately checked out the menu beforehand and turns out we both decided on their Pot Roast Reconstructed.

I also wanted to try their French Onion Soup, and I talked my wife into getting their Bruschetta. Needless to say, that was more than enough food. Mattison's actually has two nice outdoor seating areas. We were seated in the one on the south side. Our server was right over as soon as we sat down, a very sweet person who took excellent care of us during our stay.

Within a few minutes we had drinks and table bread, a soft focaccia with a pesto butter. My French Onion Soup arrived shortly after. It was not as salty as I expected, which for a normal diner would be a good thing. I'm more of a salt addict but realize this was better for me. The Bruschetta was very flavorful. Good crunchy bread. I had initially thought they added quite a bit of balsamic but now that I reread the menu, it may have been however the tomatoes were marinated.

Whatever the reason, it was moist and excellent. Looked delicious too, four nice sized pieces with their colorful toppings. Tonight, I learned what Pot Roast Reconstructed meant, and I'm a big fan. The flavor of the pot roast was perfect, and it was so tender. I'm eating it thinking this pot roast was completely fallen apart tender. My wife and our informative server helped me to wrap my head around they take a couple of cuts of meat, I believe prime rib and ribeye, cook them, shred them, form them into a squarish shape, and cook them again. Reconstructed.

Aside from preferring a more traditional hardy brown gravy over their mild cipollini onion cream, this entree was so much better than a chunk of chuck. I'll never look at a pot roast quite the same again. Not knowing what it looked like before I cannot comment on their renovations except to say the inside looks upscale with character, and popular. A place to enjoy a very good meal, a place to celebrate a special life event.

Food was good. Service was terrible. They forgot my salad. I asked for a water, never got it. I asked for a steak knife, never got it. Ate my filet with a butter knife. My credit card I had just used before didn't work but funny, I used it is 15 mins after I left and it worked. Bartender was not friendly by any stretch of the imagination and only made excuses about being busy when I told her I was disappointed in the service. I won't be back and I am a local.

I had the pleasure of working with Kourtney, she was the first vendor I connected with when planning for my wedding. I found her to be very kind, professional, detail-oriented, and extremely helpful. Her recommendations were excellent, and her honesty was appreciated. The fact that she understood my needs, offered feedback, and always had a get-it-done attitude, was greatly appreciated. Mattison's is extremely lucky to have her.

Not only was Kourtney a joy to work with, but Mattison's food was amazing, too! During our tasting, we were blown away by how good the food was (appetizers, salad, entrees, sides, you name it). We couldn't stop talking about how excited we were to eat such a wonderful meal. At the wedding, it was no different, everything was just as great as we remembered!

The wait staff and bartenders were extremely kind and willing to make sure my husband and I, as well as our families and guests, were taken care of. We highly recommend them! To relive our wonderful memories, my husband and I look forward to visiting Mattison's again soon. If you want great customer service, amazing food, and a wonderful overall service experience, look no further!

We celebrated my wife's 70th birthday at Mattisons Restaurant in Sarasota. We had 36 guests. The food was excellent. They served assorted appetizers and for dinner, "Prime Rib", mashed potatoes, baked ziti, and grilled vegetables. The only thing better than the food was the great service. The were very courteous and professional with our guests. All our guests complimented me on our choice of Mattison's for this affair.

My husband and I are so glad we had Mattison's cater our wedding! Kourtney Culler was absolutely fantastic to work with. She did a wonderful job curating a creative menu, and then took great care of us (along with our parents) during our tasting. She made adjustments based on feedback extremely well, and even inquired about some off-menu additions.

The food was not only delicious and filling at our tasting, but the same was more than true at the wedding. Our guests were more than satisfied by the end of dinner (many too full for dessert and the late night snack!). In addition to the great food, the service was equally commendable. We all felt so well attended. As a busy bride and groom, they did a fantastic job of going above and beyond to make sure any of our dining needs were met. We highly recommend Mattison's catering!

We continue to love Mattison's. Quality and excellent service is the norm. We tried the new menu item the charcuterie board and it was wonderful. Also had the house salad and our favorite calamari. Looking forward to having Thanksgiving dinner there with our entire family.

My husband and I hired Mattison's to cater our wedding set for 8/10/21. Living in NY and planning a wedding in FL we had to just go by word of mouth for our wedding dinner. Many people highly recommended Mattison's during our planning process. With a vast menu, vegan options and fair prices we decided to give them a shot. Mattison's Catering blew us and all of our guests away for our wedding night.

We could not have asked for a better experience! The Hors d'oeuvres, dinner and desserts were phenomenal! Weeks later my guests are still raving about the food! The staff that set up, cooked, served and cleaned up were top notch and very professional. They did absolutely everything, non of my guests or I had to lift a finger which was exactly the type of service we needed on our wedding night. Kourtney, the Catering Sales Director, made the organization a breeze; she was helpful, knowledgeable, kind and patient along the way. I would absolutely recommend Mattison's for your catering needs!

Terrible! Went for dinner last night and we will never return. Drinks and appetizer of calamari were fine. Waitress was delightful.all downhill from there. Dinners ordered were not what was delivered. Filet with lobster tail, no lobster tail? Lobster on Pad Thai noodles, no noodles! Just lobster on dish with four asparagus! No presentation at all!

Dry overcooked lobster and Filet. When inquired about the noodles a bowl of inedible gummy noodles were presented. Unacceptable! Manager was reasonably apologetic but at that point our evening out was ruined! Would give zero stars if i could!

This is my first time visiting Mattisons forty-one, my server May was amazing, she gave amazing service and had great recommendations! The food was delicious, I can only imagine how good the dinner service is! We will be back soon! The manager Robert is so nice and went the extra mile! Couldn't be happier:

Kourtney Culler was our pseudo planner, because we didn't have the traditional big wedding, but rather a small, intimate and elegant elopement. She was fantastic to work with and we appreciated all her help & support! Even though our affair was small, she made sure to provide us feedback in a timely manner and acted as a conduit for other vendors to make the process easy for us.

She made us feel confident that every detail was taken care and every aspect of our day would go as planned. She even went above & beyond and hung our floral piece that was prepared by my Mother on the ceremony arch for us. As for the food, it was awesome! We didn't get to enjoy too many of the hors d'oeuvres, because we were taking pictures and settling down. However, the main course was spectacular.

The short rib was exquisite with its tenderness and taste. The potatoes au gratin with truffle were everyone's favorite dish for the evening. We felt all the items we chose were perfect for us and would highly recommend them to anyone else looking for options. The service was amazing, in particular Dave who was our main attendant. He attended to our every request and detail with graciousness.

He acted as a consummate professional and any wedding or affair catered by Mattison's would be lucky to have him as their primary server. We would highly recommend utilizing Kourtney, Mattison's and the rest of her team to take care of all your wedding needs.

Just got back from Mattison's. Calamari was as good as the best I've ever had. Lightly fried with two good dipping sauces. My table mate had the daily pasta dish and I had the duck on the menu. The pasta was excellent. Mine was ok. I wish it was half a duckling rather than a mix of a duck thigh and a duck breast. The duck breast was underwhelming and under flavored. Dessert was the big disappointment.

A 9 dollar piece of cheesecake should wow ya. This was very underwhelming, in fact, you can get better from Sara Lee. Don't mean to be disrespectful but that dessert needs a redo. Service was excellent. Our server Joel was an absolute pleasure. He went above and beyond and any establishment should be lucky to have him. No, I don't know him. He was just that good. So. Would I go back? Yes, just wouldn't order the duck or the cheesecake.

I had a Free Chicken salad last week and it was excellent. Could not wait to have it again last night. It was horrible. Not one cranraisin, maybe 3 strawberries. A couple walnuts. Little bacon. We were with out of town guests so I did not want to make a scene. Why can't a simple salad be made the same way each time. We won't be back any time soon!

First time there and will not be the last. Thoughly enjoyed the whole thing. We had Audrey as our waitress. She was very attentive, but not overpowering. Was very helpful in explaining the specials and the menu. I had a few questions and she made sure that all were answered to my liking. She really made the evening. There were three of us dining this night.

The lady in our party is a very light eater. Well she actually finished her dish. The other gentleman did not leave anything on his plate nor did I. Three different choices, all very good. We couldn't help but notice how nicesly appointed the restaurant was and all commented on how accomodating the bar looked. All in all it was a great experience. Shout outs to the waitstaff and the kitchen. Nice job, we'll see you again.

Visitors Mattison's Forty-one tonight with my family and a couple of friends. Everything was exceptional. From the hostess to the interior to the waitress, no complaints whatsoever. I was with quite a picky bunch and the waitress did not hesitate to accommodate every last one of their requests. For example; no "little spoons" came with our calamari for the dipping sauces to serve.

One minute later the waitress brought out not only little spoons, but extra sauce! She was an absolute gem with a great personality and provided one of the best restaurant experiences I have had in quite some time! This is personally my first time coming to this restaurant but my mom and company have been many times before. Apparently they recently renovated and they were in shock and awe about how modern and contemporary it looks now.

I also thought the interior was pleasing. As for the food, to start off, the homemade bread and butter they bring out complimentary is AMAZING. I would literally go there just for that. This was a great introduction for the food to come. We ordered three appetizers, the bruschetta, artichokes, and calamari. While I was not a fan of the artichoke dish, others loved it.

I thought the outside was not crunchy enough and that there could have been a little more flavor, something I wouldn't order again on my own. The bruschetta and calamari on the other hand, WOW. I highly recommend ordering BOTH of these. Extremely delectable and worth it. The calamari was lightly battered and salted perfectly whereas the bruschetta was just perfection; it was flavorful, crunchy, savory, sweet, and just overall very pleasant.

Onto the entree. I ordered the lamb cassoulet and it did not disappoint. The lamb was cooked perfectly and the sauce it came with was phenomenal. The presentation was also beautiful. Overall I rate my experience a 9/10 and would come back here on numerous occasions (I do not live in Sarasota). If you haven't been here since the renovation I sincerely recommend you go again and see for yourself (based off the reaction of my mom and friends). Great food, wonderful atmosphere, and exceptional service.

We were just amazed at the hospitality that Robert and his staff displayed last night. It was closing time. I get it- time to go. It was also Father's Day. They aren't even open on Sunday's! We arrived at 8:06 and were told that it was closed. Since We ubered there, we had to figure out where to go next and pay another $11 to go somewhere else to get food for dinner.

As we stood in the parking lot, mind you we had been traveling all day to get there, a well appointed man came out and said please come in and order some food. At that point I knew he was in a leadership position. His name is Robert. Thank you Robert for allowing us to eat there! Since we are in the F&B business we know what closing time means. Robert knew the value of us.

Thank you. Now the food. Please do not overlook the artichoke hearts, mamas meat balls, Calamari and the short ribs! The shorted was also great and did I mention they have live music?! Don't pass this place up!

We were recently married in January 2020 and worked with Mattison's and Kourtney as our caterer and wedding coordinator for our recent wedding. From the beginning, it was extremely pleasant to work with the Mattison's team! Kourtney was incredibly responsive, helpful, and attentive to all details during the planning process, and offered her professional recommendations and past experience to assist with ensuring the process was the best!

The service and food during the reception was everything we had hoped for. The team was so professional and the food was AMAZING! We are so pleased that we chose them for our catering and coordinating needs. They exceeded all expectations.

The Grouper piccata is not to be missed! Possibly the best fish I have ever had. Delicate and topped with a lovely caper lemon sauce. YUM! The starter bread is also very good. You could eat about 5 plates of the fried artichoke hearts they were so delicious. We shared a piece of chocolate pecan pie that was fresh and excellent. Service was outstanding. This is fine dining so higher price was expected. Totally worth it for a special night out

Working with Mattison's and Kourtney Culler made my wedding planning experience seamless. They were flexible, organized, timely, and a pleasure to work with. The food was amazing! We served our dinner as a buffet and everyone went for seconds. I highly recommend the short ribs- A huge hit! The cake design was gorgeous and delicious. I was consulted throughout the entire process regarding how the cake would look and what ingredients I preferred. Kourtney was great at taking charge of the rehearsal and making sure all my vendors were on schedule. I knew I was in good hands so I could relax and truly enjoy my wedding day. I highly recommend using Mattison's for any event. They are the best!

We spent 3 weeks in this area in March and these were by far the best dinners we had. The filet mignon was incredible with lobster and savory mashed potatoes. Wow! Lemon martini and key lime Pie were both yummy. Grouper was cooked to perfection and my husband really liked his Gumbo. Serving sizes are large and the service was great. We will be back for sure

I decided I needed to provide my wife an experience for Valentine's Day and made reservations at Mattison's Forty-One. She was surprised and I was pleased. As we looked over the special menu printed just for the night, we had a few questions for our server, and she was extremely helpful. We decided on crab cakes for an appetizer which we shared and did the same for the house salad.

The crab cakes were excellent. A generous portion and the sauce was palate pleasing. It was very pleasant that when both were served, the server brought extra plates for each to make sharing easier. For the main course, my wife ordered a filet minion rare which was accompanied by vegetables and mashed potatoes. I ordered duck two ways which was accompanied with bok choy, rice, and other vegetables.

Both of us were very happy with our choices. Everything was good including the two cosmopolitans my wife ordered. The filet was tender, the vegetables crisp, and the mashed potatoes were firm and not runny as some can be. My duck breast was tender but the skin was nice and crispy, and the duck confit was a feast by itself. We had to pass on desert but did contemplate ordering one to take home.

As this was a special night, the management provided a group to provide live music for the evening. Oh, and our waitress agreed to take our pictures with my iPhone to insure us a nice memory of the night out. It was a wonderful night, so much so that we both look forward to having additional nights out at Mattison's Forty-One.

Very nice Happy Hour! Good drink and food assortment - albeit some of the food prices are slightly higher than comparable HH places in Sarasota. Beef sliders solid at $8 but the single crab cake for the same amount was kinda small. House Cabernet not so good. Nice atmosphere around the bar, but it is on the dark side. Feels at times like a bar in North Jersey rather than a place at the Beach.

This is absolutely not a knock against this location and can be a welcome relief after a long day in the bright sun. Service was solid and the guys behind the bar were quick and attentive. Singer was a nice touch - mellow - but got the crowd singing along to Neil Diamond. In summary- a HH menu that is larger AND offered all evening long. Attentive service, good drinks, dark atmosphere. Worth adding to your Happy Hour circuit.

Firstly, live lady singer made the evening. Nice touch, music during meal. Had the salmon - three course thing - very nicely prepared with sweet potato thinly sliced stack side. Chilled avocado cucumber soup - velvety creamy cool woundrousness. Mmm -wish I had some of this spectacular soup now! Waiter was charming - let him pick the meal actually & glad I did. Berry sorbet finish - Mattison's wins again. There are new places opening all around to dine, but "coming home to Mattison's". is just genuine fine dining. Thanks Mattison's Inspiring Food.

Took my mother here for their Mother's Day Brunch yesterday as she had never been to their location. We were very impressed! The food was fantastic the buffet was always well stocked and replenished. Their entire staff from Sean at the front door to the chefs to the wait staff were all pleasant and welcoming! Our server Kat was attentive and pleasant.

They set up the buffet around the bar which was lovely to have the chefs back there preparing omelettes and crepes! My mom was telling all of her friends that afternoon what a lovely brunch it was.thanks Mattison's for making her Mother's Day!

On a recent visit to Sarasota, we learned Restaurant Week was extended for a couple months. Since no one in our 4 person party had been to Mattison's Forty-One, we decided to try it as an early birthday celebration for one of the people. We were warmly greeted and instantly taken to our booth. We were served our water and a wine list, and the server was very knowledgeable in the types of wines and their regions.

We each made a selection and were very satisfied with our choices. The server informed us that bread and better would be served after our dinner selections were made, as not to get any crumbs on the menu. We were not rushed, and were asked if we wanted to enjoy our drinks but we chose to place our order. A steaming hot basket of focaccia bread and herbed butter was brought to the table.

Three courses were included in a prix fixe menu. The dinner order included: Appetizers: * Artichokes Esther-Style (Tempura fried, mesclun greens, shaved Parmesan, lemon-caper butter). * Mattison's House Salad (Baby greens, grape tomatoes, Gorgonzola, pine nuts, balsamic). * French Onion Soup (Five onion, crostini, Gruyere cheese) * Summer Yellow Pepper Gazpacho (Shrimp salsa).

This was followed by the entrees consisting of: * Two orders of the New Bedford Sea Scallops (Sesame crusted, curry coconut carrot puree, fresh steamed forbidden rice, Sweetgrass Tokyo Bekana cabbage, watermelon radish slaw) * Rosemary Honey-Glazed Salmon (Sweet potato streusel, asparagus, citrus buerre blanc) * Zinfindel Braised High Plains Bison (Short Rib gribiche oil smashed fingerling potatoes, Sweetgrass Tokyo Bekana grape slaw) And finally the dessert: * Three orders of Lace Cookie Berry Basket with mango sorbet * One Warm Chocolate Espresso Torte (Chambord raspberry sauce) Each meal came picture perfect, magazine worthy and tasted even better. Highly recommended to everyone we've seen.
