I've found out the hard way that it is actually quite difficult to get a great custom cake made. You need someone who is reliable, makes delicious and beautiful cakes, and knows how to work well with people. Chris has all of these attributes. He goes above and beyond for his customers. Our cake and cupcakes were DELICIOUS. The kids and adults both enjoyed everything which is also rare.

The cake was so moist and the icing was the BEST. My husband said it's by far the best cake he has ever had. We finished almost the entire cake in one afternoon! A truly amazing experience.

Working with Chris to create a custom birthday cake was a dream. He took my rambling idea and built it into a masterpiece. Totally nailed it, top to bottom it was built with the birthday boy in mind. A dream to work with, Chris was flexible about communication since it was for a surprise party and very patient as we worked through different options.

He takes so much pride in his work and his excitement over your cake is infectious. That pride shined through with the actual final product. It was a perfect, beautiful and deliciously tasty cake, and the second biggest attraction (after the birthday boy himself) at the party. Highly recommend getting a cake from Chris if you want to 'put the icing on the top' of your party! You will NOT be disappointed. He's got a loyal customer forever here.

I recently ordered a cake from Chris for my PhD graduation. The cake was absolutely amazing--both visually stunning and delicious. It was a huge hit at the party. Our cake was 3 layers with 3 different flavors: chocolate, vanilla, and marble. The chocolate was certainly the hit of the party because of the delicious fudgy middle layer. Chris delivered the cake in a refrigerated truck, which was a lifesaver since our party was outside in July. I would recommend Chris to anyone looking for a special occasion cake!

This was my first time ordering a custom cake, Chris was very fun to work with and talk to. He made my son's cake exactly how I wanted. I know I annoyed him a little with the many questions that I had and numerous emails that I had sent hahaha but he always responded whenever he had the chance. My baby boy was so happy to see his birthday cake! My guests all enjoyed how beautiful the cake looked and tasted.

It was very hard to find a bakery that makes custom cakes with tres leches filling but Chris made it happen! I can't wait to order another custom cake from Cakes by Chris Furin in the future!

As Chris already has so many fantastic reviews, I don't know that another 5-star review is going to do much for his business. But, he did such a phenomenal job for me that I'd hate to miss the opportunity to sing his praises. I asked him for a complex 3D cake with a tough two-day turnaround. Despite an incredibly busy schedule, Chris accommodated my request and exceeded my expectations. Chris is very personable, and takes great pride in making his creation the highlight of any event. Highly recommend!

Amazing wedding cake & after-party cupcakes! Even guests who usually don't like wedding cakes loved the rum chocolate cake by Chris.

Chris was a delight to work with designing cupcakes for a naturalization party and to fit my budget. They were a hit at the party and SO incredibly delicious. These are worth every penny.

I went to Chris in 2017 for my mom's 50th birthday where he made a Louis Vuitton purse cake with a red bottom shoe (image attached.) The cake was not only beautiful, but tasted even better. We had a vanilla/yellow cake with buttercream icing. I then came back to him in 2020 for my Dad's 56th birthday where he made a 3D basketball cake. None was left by the end of the party.

This time we went with Lemon with buttercream icing. If you need a cake made I highly recommend using Chris. He works with you along the way and brings your ideas to life and he also brings great ideas to the table if you're not sure where to start. He's very professional and the nicest guy you'll ever meet. He even delivers your cake personally. He drove over an hour for my delivery. Nothing, but great things to say about him and his work.

I usually do not write reviews but I'm so thankful Chris was able to make a cake for my brothers birthday party in a short amount of time. The cake was beautiful and everyone loved it! He designed it just the way I wanted it and added some additional touches that I didn't think about. Chris also drove an hour and 20 minutes to deliver the cake! I am beyond amazed at the level of customer service I received and for that I will always be a customer. Chris is highly recommended, do not look anywhere else. Thank you again!

Our good friends surprised us with the most amazing and delicious Washington Nationals cake from Chris Furin. I want to fill this review with wow, wow, wow. A perfect cake beautifully decorated and luscious to eat. From the fondant to the frosting to the chocolate cake and chocolate mousse- great stuff. Highly recommended.

What a cake! We threw a 65th birthday party for my partner/husband, for 45 guests, a black and white party motif. Chris made a two tier cake with white fondant exterior, bases of black bands, with a cherry blossom sprig. The cake flavor was Dulce de Leche (Carmel). It was a smash hit, beautifully displayed. All the guests had to know where it came from. It added much to a memorable evening.

Chris is absolutely amazing! Not only was the cake better than expected it was delicious. He made a special occasion even better. The cake and cookies made by Chris Furin were phenomenal! It was for my dad's surprise birthday party for his 70th. My dad was super happy and surprised and all of the guests commented on how beautiful AND delicious the cake was! The cake not only looked amazing but it tasted amazing as well. I'm not going to speak about the quality of the cake because my interaction with Cakes by Chris Furin didn't even make it that far. As for his customer service, TERRIBLE! HORRIBLE! I emailed him for a quote and after some back and forth I guess I asked the wrong question because all I got back was attitude. He'll deny it because in his response to my response (where he called me "extremely sensitive" and a "bully" and claims I "viciously attacked" him, when I was only giving him a taste of his own medicine - umm, dramatic much?!), the attitude and rudeness multiplied.

You know those people who like to unnecessarily BOLD certain words in their email to make a point but really it just makes you feel they think you're stupid because that's what they're really thinking? Yeah, that's him. Just unprofessional. I'd rather pay more somewhere else just to get friendlier service.

Chris is amazing! He made me a Cigar Box Cake for my Husband's Birthday and it was very nice. Everyone mentioned not only how great it looked, but also how delicious it was! Then two weeks later, he made me a Safari Baby Shower Cake for a good friend's baby shower. It was also so pretty and not one piece was left in the end. Chris created these cakes exactly how I describe them to him and more. He is now my go to guy for cakes. I really enjoyed working with Chris. He made this process very easy and he is very easy to get along with. I highly recommend Chris!

I wanted to do something different for my boyfriend's 30th birthday so i ordered a custom golf cake. Not only did the cake turn out better than expected, it was incredibly moist and delicious.
